January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

How far in advance will they let you know if the class is not full? Say I buy the tickets for the program, and the class doesn't fill up, how soon will they let me know and would I receive a refund so that I can buy regular park tickets? My daughter did this one year with her cheer group, it was the how things move class, it started before the park opened and they got to get on serveral rides. It was fun!

Park tickets are good even if you do not attend any classes. But from the sound of things classes are filling up.

We have 10 day park hoppers. We are only signed up for one class. A homeschool class at Magic Kingdom- "Engineering the Magic". (description from Disney YES website) "Science rocks in this one hour interactive presentation hosted by Disney Engineers. Everyday, this incredible team uses science to create the world famous attractions and tell the stories that transport Walt Disney World Park and Resort Guests into some really exciting places. Engineering the Magic is food for your brain as you discover the scientific principles that put the thrills, chills, and fun into the most magical place on earth. Jump on board and discover the engineer in you!"

Does that sound cool or what?

But don't you have to attend a class to get the discounted tickets? When is the Engineering the magic class? I didn't see that one on the list for January.

You sign up for a class that is included in the cost of the ticket. I believe additional classes are $25 each. The one that I signed up for it listed under the Homeschool Event. Our tickets are valid 1/12-2/05. The class we are attending is on the 25th. I hope this answers your question. If not you might want to pm me. Or call the cm, Sarah, at the Youth office. She is very kind.

And for those of you that agree to make the most of your lives and enjoy your time with your families at WDW...GO FOR IT. We lost our 33 year old nephew this weekend and it sure brings home how important special times with your family are. So lets all hit WDW in January and enjoy every minute of it!

We told the kids last night and my almost 5 yr old about busted my ears with her squeals of delight!! We told her there was an early birthday gift for her and her brother. She opened up the autograph book I made and the neck tags and then her deluxe Cinderella costume and immediately tried it on to make sure it was perfect for CRT!!!! My DH got the whole thing on video :lol:

only 10 more days to go!!!!! I need to start packing!

In just over 3 hours I can start the single digit dance! YIPPEE. I'm going to call tomorrow and add the QSDP and get checked in online! I gave my grandson some of his new Disney clothes and pjs tonight so his mom can get them packed. He was pretty excited! So much to do! But I love doing it.

Sorry to hear about your nephew. So young. Sometimes I am asked why we go to Disney now and why not wait until my DD is old enough to remember it. You never know what life will bring so why not go when she's 2 and can enjoy the magic of it all. Life is short and full of surprises. Live it and enjoy it!

DD got two dresses for her bday. One from TRU and one from Disney Store. I tried on the DS one yesterday and it JUST fits. So I'm heading out to exchange it. She wears clothes under it and even if it fits in approx 24 days, it won't fit after.

I also just found her lanyard and pin carrier thingy. I put that in "the pile." That's something I know she does not remember, but I look forward to explaining the pin process over the next few weeks.

We are undecided on the autograph thing. Our CRT breakfast is a surprise still!

I have a request for all of those going soon or those who have recently went. I am reading on some of the menus at Animal Kingdom you can purchase an Animal Kingdom Cup with an animal topper and the refills are not that much. If any of you are in one of those CS places and see people with it I would appreciate knowing.

As well, if any of you go to Pizza Planet CS at DHS and see the Toy Story Souvenir cup if you could report back if it still had the aliens on it I would appreciate that too. I love those little green aliens; I mean the kids love those aliens so much.

Update on the Cinderella Castle front side refurbishment coming in January 2010

We have a few more details to update the information that we posted earlier this month on the Cinderella Castle refurbishment in 2010. The refurbishment will begin on January 3 2010, beginning with draining the moat. Around January 12 2010, a construction wall scrim of around 25ft tall will be put in place (the scrim will be similar to this). The work should be done around March 25 2010, although as always, dates are subject to change. The castle will remain open and in-use as usual for the duration of the work.

I am a little sad about this, but getting my tickets half price, airfare half price, and room discount of 40%, I guess I can deal with it.

You should probably be getting yours any day now. We leave Jan 21st and ours came this past Saturday. Maybe the holidays are delaying it a little. If you're like me...when hubby brought it in and showed me....I squealed like a little girl! I'm not too proud to admit that...come on...it's DISNEY!!
