Only 2 more days of work! Then it's 6 days to go!
Looks like it is going down to minus thirty this weekend here. So the 50 degree celcius change in temperature will be welcomed with open arms here!

OK...you have us beat on how cold it is....it is only teens and single digits (with wind chills below zero) here. I'm afraid I won't get to wear shorts quite as much as I would like, but it will still be much warmer in Florida.

8 days and counting. Yesterday I checked in online, called and made a room request for connecting rooms (not guaranteed of course), ordered water from Costco, purchased some items to take, printed off touring plans and started making flip cards with our info. YIPPEE.

If you book through Disney you receive all your vouchers etc confirming your stay. This arrives after the ME information. When we used a TA the info came from her and was not nearly as pretty!

We leave next Friday and when I look at the extended weather it doesn't look real warm..I am thinking no shorts for us, just capris and pants..I hope the kids can swim at least once.

Oh my Gosh we are down to under 20 days and I still have sooo much to do. and for some reason I can't get motivated. The only things I have managed to finish are the kids journals. and that's only because they have to go to school with them on Monday so that their teachers can add any extra work to them. I am so excited to go and the days can't go by fast enough! I blame DH of course I have asked him to make his lists but he says that he has to pack the night before. That soooo does not help me when it comes to making sure we haven't forgotten anything.
OK, just needed to vent...going to try working on t shirts now.

Do you mean Magical Express or the package containing your vouchers confirming your reservation with the hotel etc? I don;t have the second peice of mail - I have the Magical Express - it was missing the dates and was told not to worry about it. I'm calling again today - now that the surprise is revealed I can do all the phone calls out in the open

I have a request for all of those going soon or those who have recently went. I am reading on some of the menus at Animal Kingdom you can purchase an Animal Kingdom Cup with an animal topper and the refills are not that much. If any of you are in one of those CS places and see people with it I would appreciate knowing.

As well, if any of you go to Pizza Planet CS at DHS and see the Toy Story Souvenir cup if you could report back if it still had the aliens on it I would appreciate that too. I love those little green aliens; I mean the kids love those aliens so much.

Update on the Cinderella Castle front side refurbishment coming in January 2010

We have a few more details to update the information that we posted earlier this month on the Cinderella Castle refurbishment in 2010. The refurbishment will begin on January 3 2010, beginning with draining the moat. Around January 12 2010, a construction wall scrim of around 25ft tall will be put in place (the scrim will be similar to this). The work should be done around March 25 2010, although as always, dates are subject to change. The castle will remain open and in-use as usual for the duration of the work.

I am a little sad about this, but getting my tickets half price, airfare half price, and room discount of 40%, I guess I can deal with it.

Does this mean all my pics will have a hideous crane in them and that I won't be able to get a pic of the castle's reflection in the water!

Yes, unfortunately we will NOT be getting any "pretty" castle pictures! Last year, it was the HAT @ DHS, this year the Castle! hmmm, maybe our next trip should be in summer shen very little construction gets done?

That means mine should be coming soon. Did you get the email about the things that await you... and in the corner there is something about photopass pre order?

We had the crane in pictures for 1 day at MK as they took the lights down in Jan 2009. I am hoping the crane will be gone by the time we are there. This is our year for refurbs! First it was our resort pool - yep the pool, so we truck it to Kidani, then CP - so we now eat at LTT, then Castle Refurb - so we have another crane, and the scrims don't look bad from Setember so I have faith, then Living with the Land - as "lame" as some people think this is, I like it and I hope it does not affect the Garden Grill ambience, Splash mountain has always been in refurb when we are there - I have never ridden it and believe it is just an imaginary Laughing Place .

Oh and I can't ride the "new" Space Mountain because it is just DD and I, and there is no way she'll ride!
But you know what is positive, because we won't be riding thrill rides, I get to take in all WDW at a relaxed pace, because I don't have to run for the Mountains - Ok Pity party over - I'm going to Disney World!

I booked through the official WDW site a room only with DME and received the DME book about 5 days later-but all the flight info is blank. When I went on-line to Disney my flight info is listed just fine. But I think I will have to call DME just to make sure they have the flight info. Sigh....
I've not recieved anything in the mail confirming my room rez, but that may be because I didn't do a package. My trip dates are Jan 20-25.

Seems to be the norm this year !
Sounds like the second package - which will include vouchers for your actual disney package will be arriving shortly as some arriving on the 23rd received theirs today. I arrive on the 23rd, but mine may be at home waiting for me... There's hope right !

I am a little discouraged,not sure is I should do what they say and report to ME without the vouchers and just a short description of our luggage,or go get my luggage myself so that i know for sure there is no peoblems.

When we went in 2008 we did not receive our vouchers either. I called to make sure that they had our reservation before we left. Confirmed that they did. We decided to pick up our bags ourselves and just checked in as per usual at ME. It worked out just fine. I have read on the transportation thread that all you need to do is give the ME a copy of your claim check and they will find your bags and send them to your resort. If you are worried about the bags, just claim them....it may take a little extra time but peace of mind is worth it!
