Hello all!
I and the DH will be at POR the second week in Sept. I'd like to know more about the carriage ride. There's not much info. on the WDW site. What does it cost, how long is the ride, do you make reservations for it??? Give me some feed back, please. And in advance, THANKS! :upsidedow

I know you've gotten other replies already but just wanted to tell you that the carriage ride is a really romantic thing for the 2 of you. I would definitely make a ressie as soon as you get to the resort. I don't know about this time of year but in Dec. they wouldn't let us reserve over the phone before our trip. If you can't get a ride at POR, they also have them at WL. You'll have a great time at POR. Also, renting one of the SeaRaycers for 2 is a fun thing to do at POR. We got a certificate with our package for 30 minutes free with a 60 minute purchase. I think that was $45. If you decide to rent a SeaRaycer, you'll definitely need 90 minutes for a ride to DTD and back.

Yikes! The cows must be living well in New Jersey. I bought a gallon of milk at Kroger here in Texas yesterday for $3.50. Gas was cheaper at $2.769.

I know it's crazy. Dh once threatened that when it gets to $5 per gallon we're getting a cow! I can't touch a loaf of bread for under $1.20. It's ridiculous. We are seriously considering moving down south!!

Hi, just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the information and photos. We are booking POR for our honeymoon (first time on Disney property apart from a couple of nights at the Boardwalk last year) and this had been a real help.

It looks like a beautiful resort and we can't wait!

You will have to keep going past Maryland, Milk is about $3.80 and gas is running between 2.87 and 2.97 depending on the area!

Has anyone been in the River Roost lounge? Do they have music every night?

Has anyone been in the River Roost lounge? Do they have music every night?

We were there a few weeks ago and Bob was in there on Friday and Saturday nights. What a blast this is, if you can't have fun here you can't have fun anywhere. It was great to watch my very shy kids get up on stage and dance and sing like no one was watching.Don't miss this at POR even if you can only make in for a few minutes.

We just switched our 4/27-5/03 ressie to POR. We were staying at CSR but decided to change because of the pool resurfacing. I was wondering if any of you had any preferred room locations. We will have a rental car so I'm not sure how much we will rely on the bus system.

Bob's schedule varies. Here is his website www.yehaabob.com

Thank You!

Is there still a pool bar at POR?

I have a question about the trundle bed. Are they dusty? I'm just thinking this because the are under a bed and who knows how long it was under there. Has anyone encountered this?

My DD and I will be staying at POR in March. We were originally booked at WL but I couldn't bear spending $150/night more so we switched to POR.
I was a little worried at first because I head read mixed reviews, but after making my way through most of this thread I must say I'm glad we switched.

I'm thinking we might enjoy being in the Mansions.
Can anyone suggest which building is most convenient to buses and the food court?
Thanks

Does anyone know if there are rooms with king beds in the Magnolia Bend mansions? We have reserved a king bed for our stay in May and would really like to stay in one of the mansions, Oak Manor preferrably. Thanks for all your answers.:goodvibes

Partrere Place and Oak Manor are just across the bridge from the lobby, dining etc. We stayed at Partrere Pl. twice in '06 and it was great. If you are going to be on sight for a week or so and enjoy a quiet pool, there is one just on side of Oak Manor at the bridge. We went there on both trips and let the kids swim while we washed clothes the last afternoon before our last night. The other two mansions are more convenient to the large pool only.:thumbsup2

IF you're staying at Alligator Bayou, Bldgs 14 -18 are good locations. Not far from restaurants and bus stop but not so close that it's busy. We had a rental car also but never used it after the first day we got there.

We were in building 18 and loved it. It was close to the main building, bus stop, pools and parking. Yet far enough away that I never heard any noise and not so far as to cause the kids to complain about more walking!
LOL

Does anyone know the cost to "fish" at POR or rent the bikes?? I can't seem to find any prices anywhere on that?
TIA:)

Heres a map of the mansions, we stayed in Magnolia Terrace which seemed close to everything :thumbsup2
