I just checked Apple's website and they have a limited time price reduction on the refurbished touches. An 8GB is $129, and a 32GB is $179. I forget what the 64 is.
Now I'm debating on returning the 16GB I got from Target and just ordering a 32GB from Apple. (2 of them because my other ds wants one too).
I have gotten refurbs from them before and they have a 1 year warranty just like the new ones.

I noted earlier in the thread that Best Buy has the 5th gen 32 GB on sale for $294 w/$50 GC.

The red ones are only available from Apple...pink yes, red no.

Is Best Buy gift card a black friday deal? They are showing slightly on sale right now online, which is better than nothing.

For those that live in: KY, MI, OH, IN, IL Meijer has 5th gen on thurs with 50 coupon to use in store later. And 4th gen on fri. with coupon. I personally have been in meijer later in day and they still had item in stock. They also have ipads with 100.00 coupon but I didn't pay attn to day on those.

Folks - remember the 8gb models are two year old technologies. It's very possible Apple will be releasing 5th generation 8GB ipod touches.

Of course at $129, they are not bad at all...

I noticed Best Buy's website has the 5th Gen Touches on sale for $284.99 today (11/14) , which is at least a savings of $15...with free shipping PLUS sales tax, which for me is another 6.25% tacked on. I'm still hoping for a better deal - perhaps a $50 gift card to somewhere (? Best Buy, Target, Walmart, ITunes even) to sweeten the deal. I'm holding out with fingers crossed .......

It prints out when you buy item. I was able to use mine on groceries last year.

Apple is no longer making 8gb touches. They stopped as of the 4th gen versions and the 4th gen does pretty much the same as the 5th gen; double cameras, FaceTime, etc.

Why do you think it is brand new? I just ordered my dd's and it came 2 days ago. Havent opened it yet, but hers is 8 gig

Not OP but the price would be the main indicator. New 4th gen 32gb is $249; they have not been discontinued.

I think the pp meant that she ordered a "refurb" 32GB but the one she recieved is actually a brand new one and not a refurb. Other posters are asking her how she knows its new and not a refurb, like is it in the plastic case that they are in at stores, as opposed to coming in an Apple white refurb box.

I ordered 2 for my dses but haven't received them yet. I have ordered refurbs directly from Apple in the past, and while the box is different from what you would get in the store, the earbuds are new and the ipod itself looks brand new so even if yours are refurbs, you can't tell by looking at them.
