We will probably get the 16gb Target deal for $195 + $40 gift card.

We have 5% pharmacy rewads + 5% for using their CC, so the $195 will actually become $175 + the gift card, which brings the net cost down to $135.

I love this deal! I'm trying to figure out if it's in store only, or also online.

I believe the Target deal is a black Friday one. I'm not sure the differences between the 4th and 5th generations. We are getting a 4th generation, so haven't really looked at the 5th generations at all.

I'd like to know as well. DD has the 3rd Generation and just asked for the 5th for Christmas. We're trying to decide if it is worth it.

My 4th generation 8g was approx $138 with tax for those who are wondering. And like many have said I no longer go out on BF. I do all my ordering on line and get the same deals. I also wanted to get this before December as things always do not get shipped on time etc.

The 5th is thinner and a larger screen. For the cost difference I would go with the 4th. We are getting DD the 32 GB 4 generation.


The 5th gen only comes in 32 AND 64 GB. The 4th came in 8, 32 or 64.

I have a 4th gen 15 gb on layaway at walmart, it was 8gb but that I saw on apple site for 20.00 more I could have 16gb.

I forgot they changed it. When I purchased mine 16 was not an option.

But you can get a 32GB at Apple under referbished for $179 now 4 gen.

For those of you getting the 5gen don't forget it does not use the same charger as the 4th gen.

Whoops! I thought people were saying that Target had the 5th generation on sale. I looked at the Black Friday ad and see it's only for the 4th generation. She already has that one from Target last year.

She also wants an iPad and I see that the iPad2 is on sale for $399 - $60 (at Target) or $75 (at Wal*Mart). I won't get her both but the discounts bring the price of the iPad 2 down close to the price of the 5th gen iPod Touch. I guess I'll have to talk to her and see which one she wants. Her iPod Touch 3rd gen is only 8GB and doesn't have enough room.

I noted earlier in the thread that Best Buy has the 5th gen 32 GB on sale for $294 w/$50 GC.

Our Best Buy closed! DD wants a blue 5th Gen to replace her 3rd. I wish I could talk DD into an ipad but she wants another itouch instead. Does Best Buy have the same deals online?
