my 7th grader goes to school with about 900 other kids. a grand total of 24 girls are chosen to be cheerleaders. my dd was one of the 24 this year and she's thrilled to death. you can tell from my clipart that I share her enthusiasm.
just the other night, though, at "Meet the Teacher", a friend of mine told me "MY ds really likes your dd, thinks she's such a nice girl, so real, not phoney."
my ex told me tonight that "cheerleaders are snobs" and that I'm encouraging the dd's to be snobby. I suspect my ex would say anything to make me look inadequate as a mother, and he's just picked up on this issue because it's convenient.
but it does raise the issue -- do you think cheerleaders are "snobby"?
