Sorry I've been super MIA! I've been completely overwhelmed with life, I think, the past fee weeks. Done very little Disney-related stuff as I'm focusing on Christmas and cards and calendars, etcetcetc.

I know that feeling - we have been consumed with the same things.

I officially started my Old Navy job, and it's so much fun! I got my first little paycheck yesterday ($100) going directly into the Disney fund I'm only available 1-2 days a week with other commitments, so I think thats pretty good. With Black Friday, the next check should be awesome, since I worked 8 hours yesterday and do another 8 today. It's crazy how easily I slip back into "retail mode." I totally miss it like crazy but NO WAY I could ever go back for real. I'm having fun being a part-timer!

I know exactly how you feel... After being in management for several years - I LOVE being just a peon at Target with no real responsibilities, and I can leave my job at the end of the day. But I think once you work in retail, it all comes back to you so easily. Glad you are putting your extra paychecks towards Disney.

PB and I also got to go to the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastic Champions last week-ish. We had a front-row seat (in a corner) right next to the 'tunnel' so we were able to wave and yell at all her idols. Mckayla Maroney waved right at her and yelled "love you" when she and her little friend (who she just met- girl makes friends wherever she goes) were screaming their bloody heads off at her. I thought she was going to faint.

How fun! I remember when Mary Lou Retton was my idol...

My mom and step-dad visited for Thanksgiving and we exchanged Christmas gifts since they won't be up then (visiting his side of the family this year). My lovely mother bought Jelly the world's most obnoxiously loud megaphone-like voice changer. I think DH is homicidal over it, lol.

LOL... Believe it or not - I think I have been there before - on numerous occasions. Only it wasn't a megaphone... It was a microphone, and a guitar, and a boombox, now it's the ipod that is constantly playing music from a back pocket - believe me, it will get worse and you will learn to tune it out. You'll have to.

What else? I need to update more often I think. PB is officially being tested for gifted in the next month or so- their district does testing at the end of first grade but since she got accepted into the gifted program by the teacher at the beginning of the year (just based on being... her) so during our conference a couple weeks ago she said we might as well do the formal testing now rather than wait until the end of the year. Luckily, we don't need a GIEP to lean on, since our little school is awesome and she already has 3-4 accommodations that I've asked for. Her teacher this year is just awesome and knows how to push her and help her grow.

Finally... Disney news! My mom and step dad are officially at AKV - it was 11months on the 21st, and they got confirmation yesterday. YAY!!!!! After my ADRs, that was one of the biggest "up in the air" worries. I'm SO glad it's taken care of now.

I also have a pic of our Looooooooong countdown chain (329 days today!). I have to upload on a real computer though, I think.

Awesome that they got their room at AKV!

Can't wait to see your count down chain - LOL.

One a completely un-related note I bought new window treatments at Kohls this morning during their cyber monday sale (I really, really, REALLY hate the valances that you can see in the pic there. They are barf

Wow~that countdown chain is INSANE!!! How fun is that? I bet that took a LOoOOoOOong time to make! What do you have printed on the links? Do you have the number of days on each? We are doing the picture frame with a dry erase marker, but we tend to forget to update it for several days, then I have to google it to see how many days are left to change it... I will be glad when we can make our chain. I plan to do that after we actually BOOK our trip.

They only went to 120 days, so I printed off a few copies and used markers for the higher-up days. Then taped them all together. I can take a close-up pic when I get home tonight

I LOVE your countdown chain. Right now I don't have a countdown going...partly because we aren't 100% on our exact dates and also because it's just Wayne and I going this time...adults only! I feel a little guilty counting down to a trip that Caden doesn't get to go on too!

DH and I went to Universal the year before last sans kids. Jelly was young enough he didn't really care, and PB has such a disdain for Harry Potter (she was obviously switched at birth ) that we just told her we were going to "Harry Potter World" and she was happy to stay with grandma, lol.

I asked him if it would be okay if Mommy went to Disney without him. His response was "Well, could you bring me back some more of those pennies...I didn't get all of them while I was there? And I want some of those bubbly color things for the bath (He's talking about the bath bombs from Basin at Downtown Disney that I bought for me and he subsequently used)." I told him I could probably bring those things back. His reply... "Okay, then you and Wayne can go while I'm at Daddy's one day." LOVE that kiddo!

However...I have not specifically told him that I am going yet or when...just that we are talking about it.

Caden will be 6 in Feb. and we aren't going until next October so he's definitely old enough to care...especially since he talks about going back all the time. However, as I mentioned above...he's given me the go ahead...so long as I bring back pressed pennies and bath bombs...LOL

LOL - That is exactly why I have the countdown widget on my phone... Do a search on your phone (at your app store) for disney countdowns, then you can put it right on the home screen of your phone - you'll never have to look it up again.

I have looked up the apps on my phone. They are $.99 each. Since I am CHEAP I want to wait until the trip is actually booked before I buy the countdown app.

Cool! I will bookmark that link for later! Do you have an I-phone? What is the name of the free app you found? When I do a search for Disney countdown on my I-phone it only comes up with three apps and they are all $.99 each.
