In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

I'm just back from my ride...21 miles today.

I need to be on a more well defined "calorie deficit" plan :rolleyes1 My workout today was great. My food so far has been fabulous (however - being that it's only10:00 in the morning, that's no great feat ;) ).

My goals for today are to drink more water, drink NO wine :sad1: , and keep away from the stupid potato chips. :headache:

I'm headed to work - I'll check in later and let you know how I did. Have a great Monday everyone! :thumbsup2

Morning all...

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Hannah dumped her rain up here on Saturday, but not nearly as much as those nearer the coast. Glad to hear everyone fared well through it... I spent the day shopping... I am on the hunt for the perfect purse (in the less than $100 price range - sorry Lyz... still not buying the $300 purse...) and have yet to find it.

I did pick up a dark wash denim suit for a meeting I am going to on Friday. Even bought new grey patent leather shoes to wear with it.... I'll take pics and post - I promise. The best part was when I asked my sister how it looked she said, oh my god, you are so skinny in that... when did you fade away so much... Love that...:dance3: :dance3:

I also bought some new sneakers... I got a new pair of Avia cross trainers that are so comfy. They will be perfect for my walking tapes and my chisel classes (my walking tapes are more walking in place rather than the traditional heel toe walking so I opted for cross trainers instead of walking shoes). So, in my retail therapy session the tally is as follows:

- new sneakers to work out in
- fabulous new outfit to wear to meeting with company's regional execs.
- fabulous new pair of grey patent leather shoes to wear with the new suit (ability to wear the giraffe print pumps to dinner that night is a definite.... those babies haven't been out in a while and need to play...)
- new pair of boring, but comfy and safe, work shoes

Still on the hunt for the purse, but am stopping at the outlet center with 200+ outlets on Saturday on my way back from my meeting in Jersey... I should be able to find one there. If I don't, then it doesn't exist...

Have a great day everyone...
Paula

Hi guys! Good Monday Morning. I am getting my office job going.

Walked on the treadmill this morning and the plan is to ride my bike. Weather is supposed to be cooling down somewhat, thank heavans!

I need to be on a more well defined "calorie deficit" plan :rolleyes1 My workout today was great. My food so far has been fabulous (however - being that it's only10:00 in the morning, that's no great feat ;) ).

I am SO right there with you.

Go Steph! That's awesome. Good thing you didn't have a bearclaw too!

All of this talk about cooking and baking is making me starving!!!! Last christmas Bruce and I made 30 dozen christmas cut outs, all in one straight shot. By the end of the day i was literally limping around the kitchen, flour, sprinkles and icing EVERYWHERE. It was TERRIBLE.

30 dozen cut outs! Cut outs are alot of work. Lately I haven't even done them. Just slam some icing on another type of cookie and call that a day. Cause you know, people are only eating them for the icing.

Loved the Piggie pictures!! (and i too was expecting bacon or sausage or something for the after shot).

Bunch of morbid humor with you guys.

Love:lovestruc the silly putty picture. Priceless. How did it work out? Your daughter has a beautiful colour (I actually stop typing with a Canadian spelling - so insane - back to regular programming:lmao: ;) ) of hair.

Yeah, I just cut it out.

Wonder how Kat and Deb are doing?

WOO HOO Nancy! Goddess crown for you, totally!

And I am in the same boat...MUST cut calories! Exercise has been steady and strong all the way through but the last, like, 3 weeks or so have been an eating fest for me. NO MORE.

I just finished a FAB workout and feel great. 4.6 mile run followed by 30 minutes of strength training and a 15-minute core work-out. And I feel SO SO SO good! Goddess crown for me, too! :cool1: (but no dancing bananas!!!!)

And LYZ--Up and and work and already done on the dreadmill! Do I have to say it??? Goddess crown! We are all ON IT today! Love that!

PAULA--Awesome retail therapy! Sounds great, and yes, pics will be mandatory! :goodvibes

And before I forget...

KAT--good luck on your first day at your new job!

You are totally going to kick a$$ there and they are lucky to have you! Report in when you can (cause I know you are not going to spend your first day at your new job DISing....:rolleyes1 )

Morning everyone!

I haven't attempted to catch up from the weekend yet....

Weekend was good, got a lot done towards our trip on friday. Went to Kohl's and they had speedo swimsuits (regular ones, not the underwear kind) for 4.80! Also found DD a few pairs of sandals in various sizes, including 2 nike pairs for 5.00 each!! In FL, we pretty much wear shoes like that all year.

Got in a good run yesterday, about 2.5 miles in 31 minutes. (Not nearly as speedy as Erika though :worship: ) I went back to intervals. I'm just not seeing the weight loss that I was early on in the C25K program where you are doing intervals. Also did 100 crunches! While the scale hasn't moved in a week and a half, I did buy capris (also a bargain at 7.00, dockers brand) one size smaller! :woohoo: Maybe the pilates/crunches are taking off inches.

Keep up the good work everyone!!

Amy

I do not know what to do...this coach is the coach who will be Treyner's coach through next summer for the premire league...but at he same time..this was not okay...at all...Treyner is seriously pissed...1/2 the team said they did not know about the practice..and those who did...found out from temmates over the weekend...the coach announced it Friday from what I hear when half of the guys were walking to the lockers...and excuse me...but a Friday annnouncement when the weekend plans are in place may be alittle late notice for some families when it is a 3 day weekend and you want them there by 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

I am going to the YMCA tom...1st time...

Hey, how'd the Y go?

For all I know this is done and gone, but another perspective. It may have been an accident, but he missed practice and got benched. As long as there's no ongoing retribution on the part of the coach call it a lesson learned and move on. He will, of course, have to be careful moving forward.

Damage has been done, right? He's missed one game, had his name in the paper. Right now it's damage control. You don't want him getting a rep as a whiner or troublesome kid. You don't want the coach getting ticked and making things worse for him. Talk to the AD and the coach with the intent of clearing the air like grownups so all can go forward. Anyone worth their salt looking for him for a new team will talk to his current coach and a bad discussion with the coach will be tons worse than the newspaper article. And send an op-ed to the editor of the newspaper and hope it gets printed. And if you haven't already, have Treynor go talk to the coach, because he's 17 and needs to start handling this on his own.

Quick drive-by before we move out of BWV and into a non-free-internet room...

Looks like Hanna may ruin our day.

Hope everyone is well, I will be back in action on Monday!!

Hanna Bananna! We were at MK Friday, where it was almost the emptiest I've ever seen it. (1) EMH the day before (2) Closing early for MNSSHP (3) Back to School (4) Hanna. YEA us! (And Sunday, where we hit every ride we wanted - twice - by 11am.

Thanks for the recommendation on Toy Story Mania - loved it! All 3 of us! Except for when Kaitlyn got her highest score ever (20K first time, 30K second time, 45K third time) and was whining because her virtual prize was an ugly blue bird. They've improved on Buzz immensely. And we rode it 3 times by 10am! (early morning magic hours - 2x with a 30 minute wait, then our Fast Passes can up and we walked into the line at 9:40. By about 10 we were leaving for AK! And the Fast Pass time was after 2pm! I got kudos from DH on that one!

Today, (it has been 2 weeks since my last long run, so I am already one behind)...I am at about the 3 mile mark when my cell phone rings. It is Riley's school, he is sick and can I come pick him up?

I can't believe that - especially for an older kid! Kaitlyn's in first grade this year. Last year and this, as long as there was no bodily fluids/pink eyes involved, if she went to the nurse's office they asked if she wanted to talk to a parent, then called one of us. Every time a little virtual hug was enough to get her back to the classroom. Yes, in the first week of school we got a phone call already. Someone's hanging upside down on the monkey bars and bonked her head...

I thought about it. He is only 9....but he is responsible and smart and I know he would just lie on the couch and watch tv. The logical side of me knows that he would be fine. He would be at home and have the phone and I would have my cell, etc. But still....I am not comfortable with it. What do you think?

Last January Kaitlyn (at 5.5 years) got denied the neighborhood SuperBowl Party for bad behaviour. However, I hadn't planned dinner that night, so when I knew food would be out I threatened her with life and limb if she answered the door or the phone, locked her in the house, and walked 3 doors away to where the food was. Neighborhood moms asked where Kaitlyn was, if she'd been permitted to come. Nope, I say. I left her at home. They look at me like they're going to call Child Protective Services!

Seriously, she was home alone for 10 minutes while I got two plates of food and walked home. They looked at me like I was Irresponsible Mom of the Year! (For the record, I'm positive that Kaitlyn took advantage of her freedom to watch a little TV, but as that wasn't expressly forbidden I let it ride. At least she wasn't playing with matches!)

Quick drive-by....

First, I got my long run in this morning! 11.2 miles. Goddess crown! AND--I feel great! No fatigue at all (cause I fueled during the run) and my feet feel GOOD! OMG, Nancy and LisaPR (as opposed to LisaV) - the Sauconys are FAB! No blisters, no pain, and all of my toenails are happily intact! :goodvibes Feeling a tad better about the race. But I wll still be a wreck.

Goddess!

I'm just back from my ride...21 miles today.

Another Goddess!

OK I weighed in at home today DRESSED and GUess what! I was down to 225.!! That is a 2.6 loss!! I might just make my goal.. well maybe not but I may come close and that is winning my goal for me!!!

Goal? Goddess!

So we're back from WDW. I've discovered that crocs aren't the be-all and end-all for me. Which I knew, but staring the rain forecast for Friday I wore them. And now have some sort of pulled muscle in my calf. Friday morning the heavens opened up, everyone ducked for cover, except my kid. Kaitlyn's out there all alone in her princess poncho and crocs dancing in the middle of Frontierland.

Thanks for sharing...

BTW - how is my buddy Goofy doing... can't wait to see him in December...

Hi to all my beautimus babes...

1st - great pics Lyz - did you fly to Dollywood? Cute babies and pigs...God rest there bacon bit souls...

2nd - Glad all survived Hannah...no retributions here but it cold for this time of year - 50'-60's is freezing for now...

3rd - Paula - so glad you got some new duds...can't wait for pics...

4th - E - glad you got the run in...and glad you are not just a pretty voice to your students...they may think you are one step away from a 1-900 #! :lmao:

5th - Nancy - I may have had a crack induced moment...but I am totally confused on where you work...I think we need to do a new re-cap since some have left..some are new...

and as for questions posed of myself

#1 No YMCA - we went grocery shopping instead - I am back to not feeling well and bleeding pretty bad - so no excersize cause that just makes me flow like Mt. St Helens... but I am eating much better - no Fast Food at all in over 2 weeks I believe...

#2 Deb - WARNING LONG SOCCER BLOG AHEAD _ DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO...

Treyner absolutley bears some responsibility in this...once he found out he missed - he should have called the coach...expalined and worked damage control..not wait till th enext day - that was not responsible at all...

Unfortunatley...the problem is a huge school issue now...and not from my end...or Treyner's...

The back-up goalie's parents went to the AD and the superintendant...we have a mtg tom. afternoon...the super was fuming about students names being released...confidentiality clause with students that could be a lawsuit...blah blah blah...my stance is I am going to support the coach...in the fact that he is a great coach...he is skilled and passionate about the game.. I want him to know that speaking for myself...we just need a better communication route than 17 year old Captains passing on info...

For example...yesterday was a team dinner...the only reason I knew what time it was is because Chad and I paid $35 to help fund it...Treyner got a text from the main Captain in the morning - saying it was at 5:30 and to be there on time...well it was at 5 - not 5:30 and kids were late - restaurant pissy because they have food cold now...(was a spaghetti dinner) looks bad for a team to be late to a community supported dinner etc...many rest. donated 100% of the food costs for their dinners...and you know that buis. owners in a community talk...

The coach has a website with no info - we as parents asked to help out developing a call tree etc...but he wants full control...yet...then that meant no pics for the team...because he made the decesion he did not feel that it was needed...well gues what..I have a darn pic of my kid in every sport he has played...and now..his senior year...I do not get one caus you did not think it was important...that pissed me off...every sport gets them...he should have aske dthe parents...now he is saying that he will take pics...and sell us DVD's at the end of the year...so we will get to give him money rather than a photographer...

One man cannot be all to everyone and he needs to understand that and accept help...

I also feel that he did not think through the proccess when he was talking to the press about how it would be read by the community... when he is quoted in the paper as saying..."It is the best we have ever looked" and then the paper says that a field player was the goalie...and that person had the first shut-out of the season...it looks and reads horrible....Treyner felt like if that was how the coach felt...why is he on the team - let him go back to football...

Treyner has spoken to the coach about that...and the coach said..."well it was the best we looked because it was also the worst team in conference we will play...we beat them 7-1 last year...."

Treyner told him that the second half of that would have been nice to have said to the reporter...the coach - looked at Treyner - and said - he was sorry - he did not realize the way it sounded....

So as far as we are concerned - the benching was lack of communication - but if that is the rules - than Treyner deserved to sit out a game...no biggie...my issue is the communication with the newspaper...bad mouthing kids to the media...(he was heard telling the radio station - which they then repeated on air - that the kids were not dedicated to soccer and the team because they missed practice...) that is not fair and not okay....

Unfortunatley - the big drama is just unfolding - and I am involved by request of the Super...but I will not say anything to jeopardize the relationship Treyner needs and will have with this coach - it is beyond my control though - and the coach knows I did not initiate it...

You were totaly right in the fact that Treyner did need to handle most of this on his trerms - he will have run-ins and misscommunication in jobs, soccer , marriage etc...for now till the day he dies...so evading it does not teach life skills...

Okay - that is the update as I have it - painting at the house - my arms are killing me...but it is a goood workout!

3 months left....till Dec trip...does anyone have their flights booked yet??? Need to get on that one!:flower3:

Hi to all my beautimus babes...3rd - Paula - so glad you got some new duds...can't wait for pics...

I'll post them this weekend...

One man cannot be all to everyone and he needs to understand that and accept help...

That is a lesson we all need to learn....

3 months left....till Dec trip...does anyone have their flights booked yet??? Need to get on that one!:flower3:

Dawn - all I can say about the soccer thing is oy.... Keep pushing Treynor to take of this on his own. He is almost an adult and needs to learn to do for himself. That is perhaps one of the best lessons you can teach him (right after putting the toilet seat down....;) ).

Please try to stop and take care of yourself... We don't want to hear that you are in the hospital again... that would not be good...

And yes, I do have my flights booked for the big December trip.... I leave in about 83 days, but who's counting....

Paula

Got in a good run yesterday, about 2.5 miles in 31 minutes. (Not nearly as speedy as Erika though :worship: ) I went back to intervals. Good job Amy!

Sounds like you've got a great coach who's not a great manager...He needs an administrative assistant. At this point you might get stuck in the role of the rarely-found sane parent. ('Cause we know what the difference is between pitbulls and hockey(soccer) moms, right?) Overzealous parents and athletics can be a lethal combination.

Thanks! And yeah, I never realized either how much went into a long run. I really like my 4, 5, and 6-mile runs for the most part (some days things are not great, but for the most, those are good runs), but as soon as I get over 6 miles...ugh!

I am physically capable of it. My legs don't get fatigued, my breathing is fine, I am not in pain or anything...I just get BORED. I can do about an hour and 15 minutes before it really sets in. I load my iPod with everything imaginable...music, podcasts, audiobooks, news, stand-up comedy...just tons of stuff. Doesn't help after that first 75 minutes.

I am now officially starting to taper before my race! :cool1: That means that my next long run is only 90 minutes (which for me is about 8.5 miles), and then I drop way down so that I can rest before the race.

Boredom! It kills me, too. I can get on my bike and go 35 minutes without getting bored (longer, probably) but put me on an excercise bike, even with an ipod and a TV, and I want to get off in 5 minutes.

Now that's a cute image to have for a Monday morning... She must have been too cute...

Thanks for sharing...
Paula

BTW - how is my buddy Goofy doing... can't wait to see him in December...

Saw Goofy at Spectromagic - he was all lit up! We don't do parades (DH doesn't like them) or characters (Kaitlyn's over waiting in line to see them.)

Kaitlyn's almost always cute! It's a good thing she looks so cute...One of my favorite books of all time has a line in it - about a boat model, but it applies to children as well - something along the lines of "You got to make it pretty - makes it easier to bear when you get frusterated with it." Of course, boat models don't talk back...

Back to work!

Deb

I just finished a FAB workout and feel great. 4.6 mile run followed by 30 minutes of strength training and a 15-minute core work-out. And I feel SO SO SO good! Goddess crown for me, too! :cool1: (but no dancing bananas!!!!)

WOW WOW WOW Steph! Awesome! Goddess crown!

And LYZ--Up and and work and already done on the dreadmill! Do I have to say it??? Goddess crown! We are all ON IT today! Love that!

GODDESS CROWNS ALL AROUND! :jumping1:

weekend yet....

Weekend was good, got a lot done towards our trip on friday. Went to Kohl's and they had speedo swimsuits (regular ones, not the underwear kind) for 4.80!

Ummm, sorry? $4.80?? For a speedo swimsuit? WOWZA Amy! :woohoo:

Last January Kaitlyn (at 5.5 years) got denied the neighborhood SuperBowl Party for bad behaviour. MOM OF THE YEAR! :rotfl: Just kidding. I used to do the same thing. DH, DD and I went away last spring - just for an overnight Sat noon to Sunday afternoon - but the boys (then 14 & 16) stayed home alone. Unsupervised. Can't imagine what could POSSIBLY have gone wrong with THAT one :rolleyes1

5th - Nancy - I may have had a crack induced moment...but I am totally confused on where you work...I think we need to do a new re-cap since some have left..some are new...

I agree that a re-cap would be helpful!

I work at a local apple orchard where I cook in the farm kitchen. Our kitchen store is open all year 'round, but the busiest time is from mid August thru Christmas. "Pick your own apples" brings hordes of families with unruly children who buy all kinds of yummy things that we make (apple dumplings... )...then it's Thanksgiving Pie orders, and on into Christmas cookie season....all year round I do breads, soups, cookies, cakes, pies, quiche, chicken pot-pies...all the while trying really hard not to perform "quality control" on said food items..:rotfl2:

I've done pretty well on my "daily goals"....ate perfectly at work - brought a salad with turkey & dried blueberries- had a fresh peach and several slices of cucumbers (I was making pickles today)...my water has been o.k. - not as much as I probably should be drinking, but more than I normally would....no wine...yet....:rolleyes1

OK I weighed in at home today DRESSED and GUess what! I was down to 225.!! That is a 2.6 loss!! I might just make my goal.. well maybe not but I may come close and that is winning my goal for me!!!

That's great!!!!!:surfweb: Yeah for you Stephanie. :thumbsup2

I did buy capris (also a bargain at 7.00, dockers brand) one size smaller! :woohoo: Maybe the pilates/crunches are taking off inches.

Amy

Yeah for you too Amy. That's always a nice surprise, eh?

Thanks for the recommendation on Toy Story Mania - loved it! All 3 of us! Except for when Kaitlyn got her highest score ever (20K first time, 30K second time, 45K third time) and was whining because her virtual prize was an ugly blue bird. They've improved on Buzz immensely.

.

I can't wait to go on it.:lovestruc So you like it more than Buzz Deb? Kaitlyn as well? How does it differ?

Hey all--phew! What a day. I am wiped out and I still have several hours to go!

First and foremost, I have to say that even though I am not at goal weight...THANK GOD I lose at least some weight! So today I was up an campus and had to lecture live (as opposed to online like I usually do). I am in this massive auditorium that seats maybe 500. Now this is not the part the bothers me. But since it is such a big room...my image is projected up on a big screen so that everyone sitting in the back can see/hear me.

That's right...I am projected up on a THIRTY-FIVE foot screen! Do you have any idea how HUGE my a$$ looks on that thing???? I was HORRIFIED. It was heinous, truly. OMG, this was just the motivation I needed to get back on the wagon. It is either that or crawl under a rock and never come out.

Ok, back to work.

You guys have all done awesome - kudos all around! Really, I'm impressed.

I had a great weekend, I'm having a crap day, and frankly, this is a really sad week for me, so I'm just going to crawl back into my hole. But I'm cheering all of you on!
