I'm 3 months out, with no reservations

No not nessicarily. Kinda like any other restaurant youll just have to wait for a table to open up.

i find it easier to book dining reservations after booking fastpasses personally.

Not necessarily. We just got back from a trip two weeks ago in which we had zero reservations the morning before leaving, and made zero reservations more than one day in advance. We ended up eating at Sanaa, Via Napoli, BoG (lunch), 50's PT, Sci-Fi, Rainforest Cafe, and could have had a same day 8am breakfast at 'Ohana. It's definitely doable.

Going during a free dining period may make it more difficult, however.

Have you even tried?

There were a few places I could not get ADRs for, but there are many, many more that should not be a problem. And I was booking one month out. Actually, I got about a quarter of my ADRs the day of.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm hoping to get reservations for BOG and/or CRT. My 2nd time to Disney and I'm not really sure which other restaurants are supposedly good.

That is a relief! You mean the morning you go to the park? Thanks!

You're not going to get BOG the morning of.

I got BoG lunch 30 days out, but no luck on dinner or breakfast. You basically need to be really flexible- I'd make the really important ADRs and THEN plan park days around those.

There's so much better/more out there. Read these boards, check out Disney Food Blog, read the menus here on WDWInfo.

Agree. The food blog is an awesome source.

To add to that, the two you've listed aren't known for their food although I really like the Tuna salad at BOG. They're popular for the setting. The beast's castle is AMAZING and you can't even walk up to the entrance if you don't have ADR.

That's ridiculous. I'm really trying to get one of them for my girlfriend. It's her first time at Disney and she was really bummed after we bought the tickets and realized that there isn't anything available for those two restaurants. Can someone point me in the direction of the food blog? Thank you guys. I'm sorry if these are repeated/dumb questions.

And keep checking back every day. I don't know about crt but you should be able to snap up something for bog. Just look at all meals and be prepared to take anything.

Sign up for the Touring Plans reservation finder. It's free. Google Disney Food Blog, as I am not sure we can post the link here.

ETA: Beaten :)

do call CRT the day before you wish to eat there, people do cancel at last minute, how many people are going? the party size is also a factor, the smaller the better

Only 2! I will definitely try... there's a deposit for reservations there as I understand it?

Keep trying. I promise you will get BOG. We just got it 2 months out for a party of 10. There were times I got it while we were there for a party of 8. Keep trying you will get it.
As for CRT as another poster said. The food is not good there but if you really want it. Just keep trying. People make reservations and cancel as they get closer to their trip.

There are so many other good restaurants. Try for Akershus in EPCOT - it is a princess meal. In my opinion much better than CRT.

If you want character meals how about Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park fare or Cape May breakfast.

We love Boma and Kona Cafe. Those usually have reservations - no characters though.

Keep trying.

CRT needs to be paid in full, 2 people can easily get a table, call the night before to the reservation line, if you are staying on site, after checking in stop at the concierge desk and ask what they have available. Good luck and even eating at CS have a great trip
