I think dh got the message this year....

He went out yesterday at 4:30 pm to get me my presents, he bought me a color printer because I need color ink ( I already have a printer and do not use color ink, although I could if I wanted to ) then he buys me an air purifier ( by my request so we don't have to breath his cigarettes smoke when he's home ) and a set of hairbrushes, I also got Shania Twain's new CD ( my dd picked that one out ) and socks that I cannot use. He gets mad because I said the printer and socks are going back to the store and then he says , next year I'm getting you gift certificates, HELLOOOO???? I have been telling him that for 4 years now!
Then after he saw what he got from us , he felt like a jerk and gave me his scratch off lottery tickets I put in his stocking, I took them, and I won $8.00.
Why is it that if I want something I always have to spell it out?
I hope he gets me the gift certificates next year, I will go shopping for myself, and yes you guessed it....I'm going shopping tomorrow!

My DH is not the best at picking at gifts either. It is so tempting for me just to pick stuff up while I'm out & be done with it. But he needs to put some thought into it. & once I start, I will be buying my gifts forever - and he will &$((* about the $. I made a list - at his request. He didn't "approve" of most of the items on my list. I am talking a Swiffer Wet :

Asked for a paperback novel - gave him title & author - no comment, no novel. I did get my miseltoe YC & my slippers - they look like ladybugs oh well my feet are warm. I also got a Mickey sweatshirt & a couple of other little things.

Jules, you are right , it's the thought that counts but if you are going to buy me one thing, buy me something I can use or I don't have any of, he bought me the same type of socks last year, they are still in my drawer most of them still unused because I can't use them in the winter ( low cut ) and I already have a printer. Now I "need" another cordless phone and he says he thought about it too but he decided he would leave that up to me....if he had a brain he would be dangerous! LOL
