I spoke to Jerry Monaco..Kinda long

If Tigger apologizes....will Monaco apologiize for trying to extort money from Disney?

Actually, and no offense to the OP, but I find it a little odd that anyone would write any kind of letter or anything to him, hate or otherwise. It seems a little over invested.

I find it wierder that he would contact her (the letter writer)...why?:confused3

Because he has nothing better to do than to read hundreds of letters and look up the phone numbers of the people who wrote them and call them to speak at for an hour about the incident. Sounds like he has too much time on his hands.

I'm surprised he talked with you esp. considering there is a lawyer involved now. I feel very sorry for the younger kids being threatened.

Wow people really sent hate mail?? Please the guy is after money, I don't care what he say's. I don't believe Tigger attacked the kid for one minute, as per the video the whole world knows it.

why do you think he is after money? it could be true that tigger was fighting back by hurting the boy fir self defense. or he could be a lying theif. give the guy a chance. he could be a liar or a protective father. with what you just said it makes me think you are 1 of the people who sends him hate mail!

I wanted to clarify that I am only reporting about our conversation. I listened to his side of the story and we debated on the facts and a lot of the stuff that has appeared on the internet.
I am not saying I agree with him, and he was not able to convince me that Tigger intentionaly punched his kid.

How ever I have to say that hate mail in NOT OK. I agree we should write letters when we feel things are not right but he is getting threats, and people are saying things such as Tigger should have beat up his other kids as well.
I know at least one person on this board said they hoped his kid gets picked on at school. Thats not right.

Becky

you want my opinion. the opinion of a teenager. my opinion is first of all if tigger truly did punch the kid intentionally then he should be thrown in jail. that is abuse on so many levels. second i agree with the hate mail. how dare anyone say stuff like that. if i was one of his other children i would be scared to tears. third people maybe if you just heard his side and tiggers you could get true facts!

Oh wow...:lmao: :lmao:

....I didn't know Jerry Jr.'s gf posted on the DIS.

Looking for friends in random letter writers? Why would he care how people feel if he believes he is right?

Maybe he doesn't. Maybe what he is doing is really a mind game. Seeing how other people are viewing this so he can be prepared with his BS answers in the event they come up.

If you spoke to him for a long time did he say how he found out. I am guessing this is legal industry gossip. I was not really making a point about your neighbor not keepping a confidence but the lawyer for the alleged plaintiff. Even if it was your neighbor who was his lawyer you would have no legal duty to keep quiet.

My lawyer said I do not have to answer any further questions. :lmao:

How do you guys know there is a lawyer involved?
I took EVERYTHING he said with a grain of salt, he did tell me that he had not retained the services of a lawyer. I also reviewed all the tapes I ahd seen trying to find anywhere he said that he planned to sue. I was unable to find any, and I have already asked if anyone knows of such tape please post the link.
I think he really expected the public to rally behind him and instead they have been attacking him. He and I talked about that and I told him I believed it was because of his appearance on TV. He came off badly.
As for being too involved, I simply wrote a letter telling him what I thought about the whole incident. Like many others did, I did not however call him names, use profanity or threaten his family. I did not invite him to contact me, I was simply accountable for what I wrote and signed my name. I did not include my phone number, my address or even the name of my town. I did say that I lived in British Columbia. I am not hiding and I own a business any one who wanted to find me probably could.
He specifically told me that he called me because he felt he wanted to explain his side of the story and he wanted to "debate" with me. I debated right back. I argued many of the points many people have brought up here.
Like I have previously said, he was unable to sway me to his side or get me to agree that Tigger did indeed purposly hit his son. I think he realizes he has no case, and even if he still thinks he does I doubt he will pusue it, I think he has had enough public hatred and has no desire to stir up any more.
Who know what he will do next. I doubt I will ever hear from him again because he know he has no friend in me.

I was talking to my friend the other day about this very thing. Said friend works in the judicial system and also had the vantage point of having worked as a cast member at DL during her teens.

She's under the same impression that most are. The kid was messin' around with Tigger's costume. On the videos, it's unclear whether he's got Tigger's tail or the collar of his costume. Either way, there's something behind Tigger that he's NOT letting go of and that's what freaked "Tigger" out.

However, what her main point in this whole conversation was: these exact type of frivolous law suits cause real, honest lawsuits to be subject to unwarranted scrutiny. These sorts of lawsuits (may not be one now, but there will certainly be one in those "options" he'll explore) hurt individuals by making more of a mockery out of a judicial system than it already is.

We also discussed other such incidents such as the woman who sued McDonald's because her kid became overweight and then the woman who sued for the hot coffee. My friend informed me that the woman with hot coffee *actually* had a legitimate claim as the coffee was so hot that it burned off - and I'm paraphrasing here - two layers of skin causing her to have to have skin grafts from other parts of her body.

Of course, now a man is out of a job that he may or may not have loved, but still, this man has caused some serious damage to the "Tigger's" employment record because his son had nothing better to do than to act silly behind Tigger seeing if he can cause trouble. And you know, he's a teen. He's at that age where trouble seems to follow, but to make THIS big of a deal out of it? It's wrong. He knows it. And as someone who has had many friends work in those very costumes in Entertainment and I myself have worn some similar costumes in other jobs, I have little sympathy for him if he's not willing to admit that he has a lot of blame in this, too.

Furthermore, I just have to state - and I'm sure if there are any CMs or CPs reading this they can back me up - people act STUPID around others in costumes. I once had to be George from George & Martha (series of famous children's books). In case you don't know, George is a huge hippo. So, I'm a 5'4", 105 lb. girl in a hippo suit. My line of sight is limited. My motion is obstructed to some degree.

Here comes a woman with a THREE MONTH OLD BABY and hands her to me. In my mind, I'm saying something along the lines of, "Oh poo! Oh poo! Oh poo!" only not those exact words because a) my arm reach is limited and b) my snout is so big I CAN'T SEE THE FREAKIN' BABY LADY!

Luckily, my "assistant" saw what was going down and ran and got the baby as she was about to "drop" it into my "paws." IDIOTIC!

Unless you've been in one of those costumes, you don't know what it's like. You take away at least 50% of your vision, your hearing becomes somewhat impaired and you're not at 100%. But, you're acting and you're attempting to keep it all together in there. It's a bit like juggling.

There's a line from To Kill a Mockingbird, "You never really know a man until you walk a mile in his shoes." Well, in this instance, you never really know what it's like to be Tigger until you walk a mile in his paws. With 14 year old "kids" attempting to louse you up.

Firstly can I say what a good post for this thread which has had a number of less than well considered posts.

I agree that unwaranted litigation is a real problem.

I agree that it is usefull to cosider a mile in the others shoes but possible that some people could consider a hundred yards in the shoes of the the boy or his father without making wild assumptions regarding unseen or unclear actions or motives.

IMO what it all still boils down to is the man is seeing $$$$$ signs and he isn't going to change his tune. Anyone with eyes can see the kid was up to no good from the big smile on his face throughout the entire incident. Again as many have stated, he also never lets go of his hold on Tigger's back. He even hits Tigger on top of the head. It does't take a rocket scientist to see the truth.

Your entire post was excellent. But off topic here...I am glad you mentioned the two McD's suits. Obviously the "getting fat of of McD's" lawsuit does not
pass the sniff test. If someone does not realize that fatty high calorie foods causes obesity, they should sue their parents, no oneelse.

But the coffee one got alot of bad press. It is really missed that the lady did not go for the big bucks until McD blew her off repeatedly. McD's had many many complaints of severe burns before she was injured. Some number cruncher decided that it was a safe bet to blow her off...they did not change their practices - thy might have looked guilty if they did. McD's got hat they deserved on that one.

But suing McD's for causing obesity, puhleese. P.U.
