I Got a Discount without a Pin

We are going to WDW 11/28 - 12/4 and staying at CBR. I called to see if I had a pin attached to my name. The CM told me there wasn't a pin but he could give me 35% off so I booked it! My mom and dad are also going she had a pin for 25% off. I asked the CM to check to see if my mom had a pin. He said she had 25% off moderate hotel pin. I asked if she could have the same discount as me and he said yes, so she also got 35% off.

Was this a room only discount, or a package? Those dates are similar to mine, and I have no discount.
 
I booked room only, but I think the discount would have applied if I had a package.

I really need to call. I'm thinking of staying at AKL for a couple of days in Sept (before we start a Universal vacation) but need a code to pull it off.

I called a few weeks ago to see if there was anything attached to my name for a discount. I have a trip planned for 10/7-10/11/10 at Yacht Club Club Level... the person who answered the phone when I called seemed rather confused when I asked if there was a pin attached to my name. He said he checked and there was nothing but I think he just put me on hold and then came back and said nothing was attached. Any advice?? I'm booked and going regardless but a discount for a deluxe resort club level would be amazing!!

Can you call for and ask for me? I had a 40% PIN that I was planning to use in April but had to move to end of August (after the General Public discount ends). I called to switch the dates and first asked if there was another PIN attached to my name, then begged the CM to extend either my PIN or the general public code. Nothing. Best I can do for now is the AAA rate.

Has anyone else had a similar experience as the OP? Just curious.
 
Thanks for sharing the info on the pin. I had GF booked for Dec but had to cancel those dates now I want to book Poly for similar dates and was going to do it online and then call back when/if a general public discount came out but now I'm going to call and ask about a pin too. Can't hurt. So thanks!
 
You lucked out, good for you!!

Had a similar experience last year. Was booked for early April and had called to put in a room request on my ressie, and asked if the CM could check and see if there was a pin code, would have liked to apply it to my ressie.
He said, well, there are so many out there, is there something specific you're looking for? I said a friend had gotten the Kids Free code, would love if there was a code for that for me.
He said "Kids Free, no problem, I can apply that". There was no okay, let me check, just the instant response from him. I was sitting here like OMG, really!??? Couldn't wait till the email confirmation came through to see it to believe it!
Saved me $777 off my 5 night stay at Pop - woohoo!
He was an older gentleman, very nice CM - wish I'd have him every time I call in!

Otherwise, have been always calling to check for pins - never receive any in email.... and always told nope, there is nothing. ugh!
 
sorry maybe a really dumb question. But when you say you call and ask if there is a code linked to your name do you mean you have a trip already booked with Disney? Or do they just have your name on file because you have booked with them before? Thanks
