How many days at MK??

are you only going to MK and EP? EP is definitely a 2day park for our family

We're actually taking the train overnight from Charlotte, NC. I had a $500 credit that I had to use or lose so I figured would be perfect for this trip!

Fantastic! Although its been a while, I've enjoyed riding on Amtrak. IMHO, its the best of both worlds. Someone else "drives" you and you can get up and move around.

I agree with the others who say start and end in MK... Our last trip we planned two MK days and ended up extending our tickets for our pool day so we could get 3 MK days in. 2 wasn't enough but by the end of 3 (which happened to be in a row) we were spent.

What everyone else said. Do your half day at MK since you know you'll be back. You can enjoy just "seeing" things (and eating) and worry about rides on your other two days.

I agree with others that for you, with it being a first time and two smallish ones, I'd probably do my half day at MK. Having said that, we normally let what we feel like doing dictate that arrival half day. There are times we just check in, wander out to the bus stop if we are staying at a moderate and just hop on the first bus that comes. Or, we go to whichever park is closest to our resort, if we are staying BC/YC, BW or Swan/Dolphin that is most likely going to be Epcot. We never, ever, book an ADR for that arrival day and normally, I don't book any FP either since we let our moods guide us. Keep in mind that there is no way you are going to be able to do everything there is to do so don't rush or sweat it. Take your time and enjoy the place, stop for an ice cream and walk around and look up, the details are amazing.

I can't imagine not doing at least a full day in Epcot. In your situation, I think I would go ahead and spend that first evening at Epcot, wandering the World Showcase, nice dinner, and seeing Illuminations, but I would also plan a full day there. Future World has some amazing attractions. Test Track, Soarin', Mission Space, and Spaceship Earth are not to be missed.

Our trips are generally 10 park days. Of those, we typically spend one day at AK, one at DHS, and then 4 at Epcot, and 4 at MK. Sometimes we skip either AK or DHS and do 5 days at MK. Either way, Epcot is 4 days for us.

We usually have park hoppers so we hit MK every day of our trip. Some days are mornings and some days are evenings and some are full days. For us, MK is Disney since it was the only park when we started going as kids. We always finish in MK whether it be closing it down the night before we leave or hitting it early on the morning we leave. It is the only way for us to end our trips.

Hello fellow Disney friends!

We are booked for June 11 - June 17th in a family suite at All Star Music Resort. There are 5 of us mom, dad, teenage daughter (17), and twin boys (7).

Originally, I had planned to do Epcot on the day that we arrive after settling in. We should arrive about 11 AM and I planned to be in the park by 3pm. Total of 6 park days and getting Epcot out of the way would leave us 3 whole days for Magic Kingdom.

I'm not thinking that instead of being rushed, that we should check in, check out the resort, spend the day at the pool and getting comfortable and doing full Epcot day and only 2 MK days.

Being our 1st family vacation to Disney, I wanted to see what others thought of this and their experiences with park on arrival day or not.

Thank you for all of your help!

If it were me I would do MK on arrival day and a whole day at Epcot. Epcot would take all day if you wanted to do everything in Future World and have time for World Showcase. I would look at an Epcot map again and see how much you want to do in that park. If it isn't that much then maybe you should do it on arrival day and save the full day for MK.
