How do you feel about DRIVE THRUS?

I was thinking of a multiple choice.
Why did you use the drive-thru today?
A- I have physical disabilities
B- I have children in the car with me.
C- I'm fat lazy slob and I don't give a crap about the enviroment. :rotfl:

What is even funnier about all of this. I'm actually grabbing McDonalds on the way home for everyone!!!!!!!! It's raining here so of course I will be using the drive thru with nobody else in the car with me!! Heck, who are we kidding, even if it was bright and sunny and I would still be using the drive through!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

And I pick option C! :thumbsup2

I guess I'd have to pick option C to explain most of my drive through use. Though I am not fat, and really not too slobby, and I do try to not be too terrible to the environment, I truly can be lazy, and I don't care if that bothers anyone. :)

I usually do whatever is more convenient and saves me the most time. I walk to the bank and go inside because it is 4 buildings down the street from where I work, and it is quicker to walk there than to search for my car and drive there. If I am going to pick something up at a fast food place or Starbucks, I go through the drive-thru unless the line is really long.

We have a few drive through convenience stores around here, but there are none near where I live, so I go inside the store, but I have used them when near one. I think they are a great idea. I also use the drive-thru to drop off and pick up prescriptions at Walgreens.

I wish my drive-thru habits would cause my child to be more lazy, as it is that child is just one huge bundle of energy that never stops.

Mr & Mrs Smith-- I see your side. You will not win with these people. I understand where you are coming from.

Our society is a me society. They want things and they want them now.

Yes you have kids and sometimes they are sick or you have babies and car seats I get that too I have two kids myself.

I think he is trying to say that people need to slow down. People don't make coffee to to take to work they stop at the shops. etc. Yes it is cold , but I bet when it is a beautiful day you still use that drive thru. And that is all great if you want to but don't jump on others that like to go and say hi, nice day to the clerk.

I think it is getting pretty immature of some of you to say I am going to go thru a drive thru now to stick it to him....

He said do what you want , are you people even reading his posts but you have a bee in your bonnet over the lazy part. He has a point every step counts as exercise....

Yup - don't like someone looking at me thinking I'm lazy just cuz I use a drive thru....

The fact is that there are people that are just WAY too judgemental and they need to get over it. I can be as fit as a fiddle, have no credit card debt, and not even own a cell phone, but god forbid I use the drive thru!

I agree with this, but did not see any of these points in his/her posts.

While he may have a point to some extent, calling us all lazy because we chose to use a drive thru is a broad statement that is not only wrong but rude. I don't care if he wants to chat up every single person he meets. I talk to store owners and customers when I am out as well, but just because I don't feel like getting out of my car for a cup of coffee doesn't make me lazy. It is also not making it a "me" society. I still wait on line. I just do it from my car.

Drive-thrus require walking to the car, driving around, and walking back into the house. That's a lot of work! :faint:

I much prefer to order things off the internet. :thumbsup2

Oh me too! I order from amazon.com all the time with the added benefit of forcing the UPS guy to come to my house.

Settle down there, NAB. The whole reason "these people" were upset (and are now having a little fun with) Mr. and Mrs. Smith is because he/she (which are yuo, btw, M/M Smith?) said people who habitually used drive throughs were lazy. And that's simply not true.

The point is - there is nothing evil or virtuous in acquiring goods and services in a variety of ways. It doens't make you a better or more noble person to make your own coffee in your kitchen and take it to work in a thermos. It doesn't make you guilty of crimes against the environment if you talk on a cell phone or nuke a Lean Cuisine for dinner. It's just not an issue that can be defined in such black and white terms.

If a poster is going to insist that something is wrong and is going to call peopel lazy, then he or she had better be preapred to be called on it. I don't think it's immature - well, unless it's immature to argue with complete strangers on an internet message board in the first place...:rolleyes1 )

Yes but in her arguments we would be serviced faster if we went inside, so we could feed our need to be all abut me if we went inside, not waiting in drive thrus

Hey diznygirl - I don't think it was katerkat who made that post you quoted!

I never use drive thrus. I could probably count on my two hands the few times I have used them. It hasn't anything to do with lazy or not. I just prefer to go inside. I like the interaction with people.

I could hook you up with some guys who hang out in my local convenience store, Peg!!!!

I just believe he cares for his environment and the society that he lives in . He is passionate about it.

Actually we have a by law here about idling cars because the pollution is so bad.

Plus this being lazy thing , do you ever watch the news or news type shows like Dateline or 20/20 they say the same thing as he is saying. We do a lot of sitting on our behinds these days. And it is not just the kids.

And of course now you guys are just making fun....actually it is pretty mean. He was just stating his point.

I use drive-thru banks and for fast food (also to get my morning coffee). I think they're a great idea...especially when the weather is cold!

Yes he was stating his point but he also seemd to be disregarding the points we were making for using drive thrus.

As I said before they were welcome to their opinions but it seemed like they were trying to force it on us.

I have been accused of not seeing this argument from the other side. Whether or not you believe me, I do understand. That's why sometimes I find myself giving into ways of convience. I guess I would just hope that more people would be aware of the negative effects many of these convience items and services can have. If you choose to continue using them but are at least aware of what you're doing, great!

Like I said he just wants people to be aware of what convience is doing to the environment. How that is forcing it down your throat I don't know. Just like all of you have had your opinions and want to change him.

To each his own....
