How do you feel about DRIVE THRUS?

Yeah that would be nice if I didn't have to go out & get the stuff for dinner because DH is deployed & out of the country. I guess I should have been better prepared then :confused3

Tink, you rotten terrible mother. Why in this world didn't you go shopping for the 18 months that DH would be away so you wouldn't have to go out and get stuff for the dinner or perhaps even medicine for your sick children, couldn't you have bought that 18 months ahead, just in case! That way you wouldn't have to leave the house to get those things and be lazy and go thru a drive in pharmacy or something. I can't believe you didn't think that far ahead! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I was wondering why katerkat was in such a pissy mood

I can't justify going to my coffee shack because the middle turn lane is a solid block of snow and I won't be able to make the left to come home. So I'm pissy because I can't get to my drive-thru coffee. ;)

People don't make coffee to to take to work they stop at the shops. etc. Yes it is cold , but I bet when it is a beautiful day you still use that drive thru. And that is all great if you want to but don't jump on others that like to go and say hi, nice day to the clerk.

Well, like I said, our coffee shacks are literally shacks - only drive-thru, no option to go inside. But, the owner/main barista is my age, also on the South Beach Diet and makes me personal sugar-free specials, has been dating a guy for nearly two years and wishes he'd propose, owns a house on the South Hill that she rents to her brother's best friend, and thought of me when she saw Dunkin Donuts coffee for sale in stores because I told her it's pretty much the only thing I get to drink on the East Coast. Trust me, I say "hi, have a nice day" at the drive-thru!

The Starbucks near my work has a drive-thru. I also like the drive-thru lane at the bank that has an ATM. I don't like getting out of my car to get money from the ATM. I wish there were more drive-thrus. I would love to be able to fax in my grocery store order and drive thru to pick it up! A drive-thru lane at the post office would be a winner too.

I also like the drive-thrus at the drug store to get prescriptions. When that is all you need, it sure saves time.

Our post office has pull up mail boxes so we don't have to get out of the car unless you need to purchase something. If you just dropping a letter in the mail then zip, done!:thumbsup2

Ours does too. I love it. I was thinking about purchasing stamps, or maybe getting a passport without ever getting out of my car.:lmao:

I PRAY for the day WAL*MART goes Drive Thru!:woohoo: :woohoo:

I like the idea of a drive-thru at the Post Office. I would probably draw the line at a drive-thru gynecologist.

We have Drive-Thru Daiquiri Shops down here:woohoo:

Although they do tape the straws to the lids! (open container law)

I personally don't use drive-thrus too often, but I really could care less who uses them and who doesn't

I really don't think walking 5 more steps inside is going to burn the 800 calories you are about to cosume.
Don't you just LOVE SE Louisiana!

You can buy stamps online now :thumbsup2

My mom's bank Citizens allow you to buy stamps thru the ATM. I think you have to have an account at the bank, but I know I have pulled up and done this for her with her in the car.

Well, I got paid back today for using the drive thru, this should make all the "anti" drive thru folks laugh. First they got the toys wrong. I asked for 2 boy meals, I got one boy one girl. Pulled over and WALKED in..I guess I should have gone thru the drive thru again..:rotfl: Fixed that. Then, I got the wrong order (cheese burgers instead of hamburgers) even after I quetioned the fact they were wrapped in yellow instead of white. I was assured they were hamburgers, so you can imagine how livid I was when half way home I hear, "this is a CHEESEBURGER!" I thought they were kidding, because they heard my conversation at the window. So I turned around and went back in again..told the manager, she gave me a burger with a very limp apology. From now on, if you are in back of me at the drive thru, you are going to have a little wait while we eat our food right there to make absolutely sure it is correct.

I guees this is a little drive thru karma?? Don't worry, I'm not giving up my drive thrus till they pry my cold dead hands from the steering wheel..:rotfl:

I USED to put my shoprite order in online, and then drive up, and they'd put it right in my van. However, THEN I learned that for $5 more, they would deliver it to my house, and bring in into my kitchen. Yes, the grocery store is only 3 minutes away, and I haven't entered it's doors in months!:goodvibes

Well I'm in an extremely cranky mood so I think I'll throw my 2 cents worth in. First off I can't imagine caring whether somone uses a drive thru or not. As far as liquor stores I don't see how it could make a difference whether you drive to the window or go inside your getting booze TO GO. Your either responsible or your not whether you purchased it at the window or inside is irrevalant. Let me tell you one of the reasons I'm cranky. After spending nearly a whole day with my heartbroken daughter at the hospital for a D&C after a missed miscarriage we had to drive home to our small town 40 miles away. The weather was nasty and they were predicting it to become worse. She was starving since it was 3:00 in the afternoon and she wasn't allowed to eat or drink since midnight the night before. We went through a drive thru to get her something to eat. Yes I could have parked and went in but guess what I didn't really feel like conversing with anyone at that time. When we got back to our town I dropped her prescription off at the drive thru and took her home then went back and (brownie points here) went inside to pick it up and pay on my account. Oh and I really thought about going to the liquor store but didn't but I probably would have used the drive thru!

There's a drive thru wedding chapel in Vegas. That seems a little much.

I love drive thrus for fast food and banks. I don't use them for anything else yet.

OK I have to chime in on this one... I got married in one of those drive thrus in Vegas and it was fun and perfect and while it's called a drive thru it's not anything at all like a drive thru experience you are thinking of - ala McDonalds.

I wish my shoprite would do that.. I am all for the pulling up and having them bring it to my car. I wouldn't overbuy and I would get everything that I needed.

I did have them deliver one right before a snow store when hubby was pulling some OT.. but that shoprite is further away.

Thank you like I said I'm just really cranky at the moment and probably should avoid contact with others.

No, come on in here and vent, cry, whatever you need to do..I am so sorry for your DD and for you and your family.
