How do you feel about DRIVE THRUS?

1. You're free to shop where ever you want, as are we. Its called a free xountry for a reason. My mental health would be severely compramised without Dunkin Donuts.

2. I think our environment is harmed more from you spouting off hot air in this thread than me idling at Dunkin Donuts (my latte was good by the way, thanks for asking)

The soup and salad I picked up while idling for 5 min in the Applebees parking lot was absolutely delish. Best 6 bucks I have spent this week.

:wave2: I'm back from DD. It was pouring down rain, you think I dragged my 3 kids out of the car to go in the store?

Heck no, me & the 5 other cars that were there were all in the drive thru :woohoo:

There is no need to be lazy....

Tho I wish it had a cup-holder for my frappuccino, just to be safe..... ;)

Well, I don't use my microwave that much. I hardly if ever buy pre packaged microwave foods. I rarely shop unless I need something so the internet shopping thing hardly applies. I do however love a drive thru. Walking around the parking lot or grocery store is not what I consider fun. I do however love to walk around the drug stores (but that's a whole nother thread!:lmao: ) and I consider that a little treat when I actually have time to do that. I have always used drive thrus. Am I lazy? Maybe- but really, I just don't want to get out of the car. I exercise at home. I socialize when I want to but I don't look at a trip to 7-11 as a social experience where I might meet a friend. I'm not saying there are no nice people in there, but I just get my stuff and get out. I have nothing to say to the other strangers in there doing the same thing.

You know what I really wish they had? A drive thru toy store! This way when I forget to pick up a gift for a birthday party I could just pull right up and have it wrapped and ready to go! Now there's a money maker.... I'm just sayin....

Once, I ran two miles to a coffee shop, and had a latte on my extra long cooldown return home. :rolleyes1

That's when I will walk my big old butt into the convience store to pick up the TRU gift cards they now carry:thumbsup2 although they need a greeting card section....

Using the drive-thru occassionally is not the issue here for me; it's the habitual use the worries me.

And no I don't have kids but I fail to see what that has to do with anything. I'm not talking specifically about parents here. I'm talking about all kinds of people. So, why do you keep asking me if I have children? If I don't have children, I can't possibly understand drive-thrus?[/QUOTE]

What worries me is that you are worried about the habitual use of drive-thrus when there is so many more important things to worry about....war in Iraq & Afghanistan, starving children, recessions, foreclosures, etc, etc.

And the reason people are asking if you have children is quite simply those of us that do have them have each had a time whether it was due to a sick child, a sleeping child, rain, sleet, snow, WHATEVER reason that it would much more convenient to not haul said child out into the cold or out of their carseat. When my child was smaller & would fall asleep in the car, even if she had only been asleep 5 minutes, if I stopped to buy a gallon of milk or diapers or formula or whatever necessity would have me stop when she was sleeping, she would be awake and not go back to sleep until bedtime.

So before coloring everyone who uses drive-thrus lazy, consider that they COULD be other reasons for using them other than they are the poster children of laziness.

There is a Starbucks behind my apartment complex. It would be so easy to walk there. But in the morning when it is 15 degrees outside with a 30 MPH wind...there is no way I am walking there. That kind of wind coupled with that kind of cold...bad for any exposed skin. So what do I do...I drive over and go through the drive thru. Not only am I not risking frostbite or hypothermia...I am geting a hot, delicious drink at the same time. Smart no?

Ohh!!!! I forgot to mention that I will run after the Mr. Softee truck! Does that count as a drive thru? I mean he drives to us but sometimes you gotta chase that sucker down!:lmao: Oh- and if I buy more than one cone is that being efficient since he won't have to make a second trip?:confused3

"Excuse me, sir? Are you a Fat Lazy Slob? If so, please check yes here"

I was thinking of a multiple choice.
Why did you use the drive-thru today?
A- I have physical disabilities
B- I have children in the car with me.
C- I'm fat lazy slob and I don't give a crap about the enviroment. :rotfl:

What is even funnier about all of this. I'm actually grabbing McDonalds on the way home for everyone!!!!!!!! It's raining here so of course I will be using the drive thru with nobody else in the car with me!! Heck, who are we kidding, even if it was bright and sunny and I would still be using the drive through!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

And I pick option C! :thumbsup2

See, you said that you are "running" to get the Mr. Softee truck. That there eliminates any exhaust that you would have produced by driving your own car to obtain ice cream. Running will also rev up your metabolism so that you are thereby able to burn the ice cream calories much quicker!!

I am guessing Netflix is probably evil too:rotfl: since I am not actually going to the video store

Yes but will the heat coming off my body cause a greenhouse effect?
