How do you feel about DRIVE THRUS?

Well, I got paid back today for using the drive thru, this should make all the "anti" drive thru folks laugh. First they got the toys wrong. I asked for 2 boy meals, I got one boy one girl. Pulled over and WALKED in..I guess I should have gone thru the drive thru again..:rotfl: Fixed that. Then, I got the wrong order (cheese burgers instead of hamburgers) even after I quetioned the fact they were wrapped in yellow instead of white. I was assured they were hamburgers, so you can imagine how livid I was when half way home I hear, "this is a CHEESEBURGER!" I thought they were kidding, because they heard my conversation at the window. So I turned around and went back in again..told the manager, she gave me a burger with a very limp apology. From now on, if you are in back of me at the drive thru, you are going to have a little wait while we eat our food right there to make absolutely sure it is correct.

I guees this is a little drive thru karma?? Don't worry, I'm not giving up my drive thrus till they pry my cold dead hands from the steering wheel..:rotfl:

You must have gone through the McDonald's drive through near my house. :rotfl2: Out of about 20 times going there, ONCE did they have the order right the first time. I can assure you though, it's no worse than ordering inside, we've had the same odds.

I think it's just me..I have a little cloud over my head like eeyore that follows me all over. If you ever see me in a check out lane, DO NOT get in back of me..Chances are it won't be MY fault, but I can guarantee that the line will come to a complete and final stop as soon as I get on the end of it..

So at least now I know that I cannot even trust the order if I question it..I have to unwrap every single item and ensure it's what I ordered...That's another 5 minutes of idling and adding to the greenhouse effect.. :rotfl:

Don't worry cause after numerous times of getting home and finding out the orders have been screwed up I check the bags too.
There's even one McDonald's that we don't go to anymore (cause of numerous screw ups) after we got home with an order and DH gets his chicken sandwich out and sees that they forgot the CHICKEN :confused3 How the heck do you forget the main part of the sandwich?

Two weeks in a row, McDonald's drive-thru. I ordered unsweetened iced tea at the order box. I get up to the window. I ask the clerk if she made sure to put enter it as "UNSWEETENED" tea. She assures me it is. I pull up to the window, a different clerk hands me the drink. I ask "is this unsweetened tea?" I'm assured that it is. I drive off, take a drink, and ....

it's SWEET tea. :headache:

One time, I got a Happy Meal for DS6 with chicken nuggets from the drive thru. When I handed him the nugget box, I heard, "Ummm... Mom?" from the back seat. I got to a traffic light and looked back. There were 2 slices of tomato in the nugget box. No chicken, just tomatoes. :confused3

Of course though there are the days (like last night) when you just peer in the bag & it looks like everything is in there get home take everything out and see extra food :woohoo: Last night it happened, which was good cause grumpy #2DS didn't want a Happy Meal but as soon as we got home he was crying cause he did want french fries. I open the bag and there was another thing of fries.

Now that's a good day:woohoo:

My favorite drive thru moment:

Burger King... lunch for me and my mom to take home after a morning of shopping.

Two combo meals with drinks... one DIET Coke, one REGULAR Coke.

The girl working the window hands me two identical sized drinks with no punch in the top to indicate what kind of drink they contain.

I asked, "Which one is the diet?" (My mom is diabetic, so it really matters.)

She looked at me, looked at the drinks and shrugged her shoulders, "I dunno."

"Can you pour me new drinks? I need to know which one is diet."

She reaches down, gets out a straw, and proceeds to hand it to me.

I said, "What is this for?"

"So you can taste them and figure out which one is which."

 :lmao:

My apologies too, but YES I'm going to be there for the very first time!

Me too. We'll be there for both races - Saturday and Sunday - and I also have tix for the Fan Zone. I'm SOOOO excited!!!

*apologies to the OP for hijacking; I think the thread has pretty much run it's course though...

OOOooo... ME TOO! I've been to races at Atlanta Motor Speedway before, but this will be my first Daytona 500. We have tickets to the Saturday and Sunday races, plus the Sprint Fan Zone.

I have to get used to calling it the Sprint Series... and the Nationwide Series. Sigh.

I can't wait!!!

PMing you :)

Back to our regularly scheduled thread!

I went through the Wendy's drive thru last night after a basketball game. Not only did I sit there idling for like 3 or 4 min before they took my order, after I drove around and paid it took them 5 min to give me my food. Just think of all those greenhouse gases my car was putting out.

Lets not talk about the greenhouse gases I was burping out later.

And for those of you concerned about the environment...I keep my car well maintained. Last week I had a tune up with all the sparkplugs and filters replaced and had my emissions tested. My emissions were almost negligible. I even passed by California standards. So...HA!

Someone suggested to me that we should be shutting off our cars while waiting at traffic lights to avoid unhealthy idling!

What I don’t get is how so many environmentalists are against any kind of freeway expansion/additions, and yet seem to be OK with hundreds of cars sitting in traffic jams or at traffic lights.
