I remember taking my mom into the Metropolitan Museum of Art one year to see the Jaqueline Kennedy-Onassis exhibit... she still talks about it! Your mom is going to love the Princess Di exhibit, I'm sure!

Just wanted to post a quick mini- update on my trip this weekend. As I had posted earlier, my sister, Kelly, and I had decided to take our mother to Atlanta to see the Princess Diana exhibit for a little Mother’s Day treat.

After leaving school yesterday at noon, I met my mom and drove to my sister’s house. From there, we headed out to Atlanta. My sister and I had not told our mom where we were taking her. When we got on I-65 S, I think she thought we were going to Birmingham. When we got there, and took the I 59/20 exit, she said, “ATLANTA----We’re going to Atlanta???” It was so funny. She had to call our dad right then and tell him where we were going!

After having the bad luck to meet up with heavy traffic ---Of course, it was Friday, and a little after 5---we checked into our hotel. We headed over to the Cumberland Mall, and ate at the Cheesecake Factory, did a little “looking around in the mall” , and visited Barnes and Nobles.

Back at the hotel, we enjoyed sharing a slice of cheese cake---lemon-raspberry crème-----YUM!

This morning, we got to the Civic Center (and only went down one 1-way street once!) (Don’t worry; there was a quick U-turn, when we realized that!)

Of course, no cameras are allowed inside---so no pictures of anything inside. The exhibit was wonderful! We really enjoyed seeing all the items from Diana's childhood and teenaged years. Of course, her wedding dress was the best part. My mother said she could have just stayed in that room all day and watched that wedding video footage over and over.

Besides the wedding dress, I think my next favorite part was the room with about 20 of her dresses. I loved seeing all of those, and remembering seeing pictures of her wearing those beautiful gowns.

One item was purchased after the tour----

The book with details, and pictures of the exhibit.

We had a good time, and I think my mom really enjoyed herself, which was the main reason for the trip!

I will enjoy spending tomorrow with my children. We’ll go to church together, and hopefully I won’t have to take care of lunch tomorrow!

It was a beautiful day in Atlanta, and I loved the wedding dress! The train always looked long in pictures, and tv, but seeing it in person---I couldn't believe how long 25 ft. actually is!
