I'm fairly certain Ariel's does characters for lunch, as well as Breakfast, just not dinner because it's WOC package![]()
The lounge menu at Carthay always tempts me as I am planning, but we haven't tried it yet. But they have something listed like 'chilled watermelon skewers with lime sorbet' and it just sounds like the most refreshing thing in summertime in CA!! I know we'll hit it this next trip over Labor Day!!
I wish I was at Disneyland right now! Of course that's normal for me. I don't care about being on a ride. I just want the atmosphere.
The atmosphere is my favorite part too! I loved the occasions when I was able to sneak away for some extra time on my own just wondering around enjoying all the sights and sounds (and why I always volunteered to be the FP runner, which really was the FP "walk slowly and admire things")
It is one of those 'if you have never been, you wouldn't understand' things!! I smile whenever I think of it! But my mom just shakes her head... Maybe I will convert her eventually!
There's nothing quite like it is there?
Agreed. I definitely didn't appreciate it as much when I was younger, but going as an adult and with my own kids made is such a magical experience!
Maybe it's seeing it through their eyes?
That is probably a very big part of it! Growing up we didn't go to Disneyland for the first time until I was almost 15. Part of it was that we were in private school until I was 11 so we didn't have the extra money for big vacations, but after switching to the public school system my parents decided we should wait until everyone was tall enough to ride all of the rides. We are not known for height or early blooming so my brother didn't hit 48" (or whatever the Indiana Jones height requirement is - this was before CA opened) until he was 9 or 10. The kicker? My brother had been and was until he was much older, terrified of any remotely fast rides. So he didn't even WANT to go on Indy, let alone the 40" limit coasters. We could've gone four years earlier! Lol! But because I didn't get to experience Disney until my teens, I've always known I wanted to take my own kids when they were younger and I think I had just as much fun watching them experience everything as they had experiencing it ;-)
