Ok Ok.....I know that the dates for free dining are 8/26 to 9/22 (I've only seen them posted here 100 times each eday :rotfl: ), however I was just wondering for those of you ( like me ) who have bookings that only part of your trip falls in the free dining dates, has any one tried to book free dining? I mean it never hurt to try right?;)

:goodvibes

I haven't tried but my dates I'm locked into are 8/22-9/01. Let me know if you have any success!;)

Why not seperate your reservation into 2? One for the days prior to free dining; and the one during free dining? At least you would get the free dining for a portion of it.

I did check into two reservations. I have a small discount from making the reservation early (including dining), so it would be almost a wash to make two reservations.

If you try to book outside the dates using the online booking tool -- it resets the dates.

It ain't gonna happen I don't think unless Disney changes the offer.

You can start your reservations on the last day and get free dining for your entire stay. We are staying at POR 9/22-9/29 (party of 5, DM, DD & 2 DGD an myself). Also, just booked a trip for my DH and myself for 9/1-9/9 (8 wonderful nights) and free dining both trips.
Not sure if I should have booked somewhere different for my trip with my husband as I will be returning in 2 weeks to the same resort. I have stayed at CBR twice and Cornado Springs last September and I wasnt sure if I would like POFQ. Almost booked Pop Century but wasn't for sure if they have their own bus or if they share with the other Value Resorts??

Yep, that's what happens. I tried it earlier today just to see, and the date just resets.

I had to do a split reservation. One for Aug 23-26 and the other between August 26-Sept 3. If you do that, be sure to ask for a continuous reservation so you don't have to change rooms (you just have to check out and check back in.) I did the 10 day park pass on the first reservation and the one day base ticket on the free dining package. Good luck!

Two years ago we added two days onto the beginning of our trip at the last minute. We could not get into POR for those extra days so we stayed off site. We went to POR our first day in Orlando (two days before our reservation started) and they issued us our park passes. Instead of buying an extra set of one day passes you could do what we did.

I think they had to get the one day passes so they could have the free dining plan.

We did split our stay. We are at Pop from Aug 19-25 paying for the Dining Plan and 10 base park pass with insurance. Then from August 25-31 free dining, 1 day pass and no insurance. No it did save us muc, if any. However we did end up with an extra park pass which we can use on our next visit and 1 extra day in disney and we are know staying in the preferred seciton of Pop as before it would have been stardard, for basically the same price as before. So for us, yes it was worth it. Maybe not for everyone.
