Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I purchased a few of the DVC central ones, but I haven't used them yet. Still debating what I want to do ;)

Didn't want to go through all these pages to see if anyone else mentioned, but I found Mickey and princess Disney duct tape at WalMart for $5.97 each.

Just got back from 13 nights at the POFQ. This is the magic band I used:

I posted before I left but thought I would give an update/
I used acrylic paints. They are much easier to paint with than nail polish, even using a narrow brush. I then covered it in two coats of a clear acrylic sealer (purchased at Michael's and sold near the acrylic paints for a couple of dollars). I got tons of attention and complements and questions about it from other guests and CMs alike. Some thought I bought it that way. It held up perfectly for the entire two weeks- no cracking, chipping, or rubbing off. I never did go swimming but it got plenty wet from rain and water rides. So it hasn't been tested for prolonged time in the water. It was also scratch resistant.
As you can see, I also did my nails to match. I found the same color pink as my MB in Sinful Colors (Pink Forever). I then painted on top with acrylic paints and then used a nail polish top coat. I have to say the Sinful Colors nail polish held up very well. I never touched up with more topcoat every day like I often do and they lasted about a week at the parks before they started to chip. If I had bothered to touch them up, they probably would have lasted longer.
I thought I would see other decorated MBs out there, but I never saw any. Just those with the little sliders or characters you can buy.
Anyway after my trial, my suggestion is: save the nail polish for nails and use acrylic and sealer on the band. It's cheaper, and you can get many different colors and shades. For your nails (if you like to match :) ) try Sinful colors.

Thank you so much for the report back. It helps us a lot. Your band and nails are beautiful.

Thank you, PinkBudgie!!!! :thumbsup2 I have been waiting to hear how the acrylics hold up as they are my first choice. :yay:

I also like Sinful Colors polish. Pure Ice is another brand I like. And you can get both at Wal-Mart for about $2 each.

Actually, Sinful Colors is a Consumer Reports Best Buy. :)

Glad to hear your band held up well. I probably won't go out and buy acrylic paint because I have tons of nail polish. ;)

We know that you need nail polish underneath for tattoos to stay bright on the bands. Has anyone tried using a clear coat and then a tattoo for the same effect?

Thanks. Use generous amounts of sealer, spreading evenly. I used a bigger brush almost as wide as the band, bu not quite. And like I said, I didn't swim with it. It seems to hold up well with water, but I didn't go swimming. Someone else will have to test that. ;)

My mom told me that about Sinful Colors so that's why I tried it. Oh, I did put down a base coat on my nails and I don't normally do that either, so that may have helped. But it did seem like really good polish. And cheap!

So excited to finish my band today, other than the top coat.
That came out really nice!

All I did on DH's was outline the Mickey head in black on his orange band. He told me he was washing his hands in the bathroom and a little boy said he liked his magic band. :)

I recently got my annual pass Magicband in so I got decorating. It started off as a grey band. I used black silver sparkle nail polish. Then put on silver Mickey head glitter I collected on a previous trip. Yes I picked them off the ground.

Looks great. I love the mickey confetti idea. I see you put one directly on the band's mickey head. Be sure to report back if you have any problems with readers being able to sense the band. (I'm curious since the confetti is metal and not plastic)
Very nice looking band!!!

Love all the bands. We are getting a second set for a split stay. I thought it was a waste but now I'm thinking I'll just let my 10 year old crafty daughter decorate them all for us. That should help with the wait!

Here is my MB- I free handed except for the 'briar' tattoo that I embellished. I used nail art pens, nail polish, and the rhinestones that came with the nail art pens.
