There are many different ways to spend non-park days in a Disney visit. One of them is to hop around different Disney resorts. Unlike regular hotels on property like Holiday Inn or Hilton, the Disney Resorts Collection hotels carry over the Disney experience you enjoy in the parks. Even getting to resorts via Disney Transport buses and water taxis are an attraction on their own! With that in mind, what was the first instance where you snuck off to a Disney resort hotel during your stay? You did not have to stay in a Disney resort for this.
For me, this year was the first time I EVER visited a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. On the night before I entered EPCOT, I was hard pressed to figure out dinner. Instead of returning to Disney Springs like I was able to at the hotel I was staying in, I decided to head over to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort and dine at the Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory. It took a little bit of courageous walking from my non-Disney hotel to the docks near Disney Springs, but in the end it was totally worth it! The ambience and the jazz surrounding the lobby was LOVELY… and the food was satisfying! Of course, I knew we had to stop over at Scat Cat’s and grab a few beignets for the jealous rest of my party. The beignets looked as cute as they tasted delicious.
Subsequently, I also hopped over to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort for a delicious pork bbq sandwich on 6/26 day. At that point, as I was trying to get to Fantasia Gardens, I also got to take the Disney Skyliner for the first time. I still can’t get the announcements out of my head! This had me going through Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and then connecting to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and cutting through Swolphin. After I got in a round of mini golf, I made my way back by taking the Disney bus, but not before a quick stroll through Disney’s BoardWalk. I got myself an ice cold Goofy Glacier to sip on.
