There are many different ways to spend non-park days in a Disney visit. One of them is to hop around different Disney resorts. Unlike regular hotels on property like Holiday Inn or Hilton, the Disney Resorts Collection hotels carry over the Disney experience you enjoy in the parks. Even getting to resorts via Disney Transport buses and water taxis are an attraction on their own! With that in mind, what was the first instance where you snuck off to a Disney resort hotel during your stay? You did not have to stay in a Disney resort for this.

For me, this year was the first time I EVER visited a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. On the night before I entered EPCOT, I was hard pressed to figure out dinner. Instead of returning to Disney Springs like I was able to at the hotel I was staying in, I decided to head over to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort and dine at the Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory. It took a little bit of courageous walking from my non-Disney hotel to the docks near Disney Springs, but in the end it was totally worth it! The ambience and the jazz surrounding the lobby was LOVELY… and the food was satisfying! Of course, I knew we had to stop over at Scat Cat’s and grab a few beignets for the jealous rest of my party. The beignets looked as cute as they tasted delicious.

Subsequently, I also hopped over to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort for a delicious pork bbq sandwich on 6/26 day. At that point, as I was trying to get to Fantasia Gardens, I also got to take the Disney Skyliner for the first time. I still can’t get the announcements out of my head! This had me going through Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and then connecting to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and cutting through Swolphin. After I got in a round of mini golf, I made my way back by taking the Disney bus, but not before a quick stroll through Disney’s BoardWalk. I got myself an ice cold Goofy Glacier to sip on.

April of 2025 for WDW and I am in love with it!

October of 2025 or DLR and I really enjoyed it even though I never thought I would at DLR.

Fun question and I had to think about it for a minute! The answer wasn’t readily in my head. I think it was probably my sister’s bachelorette party in 2002! We were staying at French Quarter, but we went to Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk one night and Beaches and Cream at Beach Club on another.

These days it’s hard to imagine a trip without visiting at least one other resort. In fact I have a BLT stay coming up and thought it would be a good chance to see Wilderness Lodge, which I’ve never been to. But then I thought, I’ve never been at BLT either, I should stay put and enjoy my immediate surroundings to the fullest. But this thread has resurrected my resort wanderlust… Hmmm!

I’ve never resort hopped just to kill time and check out resorts. I have to go there for a specific reason. ADR, hit a lounge or bar, grab a meal, decompress from the park, watch fireworks, etc.

December will be my first time legit resort hopping. DD and I are going to hit the deluxe resorts to check out the holiday decor before our Jollywood night. I’ve always wanted to see WL at Christmas time.

Well Im back to admit I thought you meant resort like the theme parks :o

The first time I resort hopped at WDW was in May 2025 I visited 9 resorts in 2 days

Queen! 🫅 That’s an epic wander. I’d love to know the route(s) you took.

I honestly couldn't tell you. We winged it. Was just me and DH bouncing around to see different DVC resorts. We stayed 1 night at BLT and 1 night at CCV so those were our starting points for each of the 2 days.
