Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I decorated all 8 of ours for our trip on Thursday. I will take a picture of all 8 later on but this is the one I'm most proud of. It's all fingernail polish and the LSU and the tiger is nail art tatoos.

GEAUX TIGERS!!!! OMG! This is awesome. You are so talented.

I got the e-mail this weekend. I have just 12 days left to customize my next set of magic bands before they ship. I keep changing my mind about what colors to get.

I really wish that there was an option to order bands online that you could add to your account so that I could get more. I think I might have an addiction problem. :rotfl:

So I decorated my magic bands today after they arrived. We wanted to do some things but not too much. Boys wanted very little. So, in order to keep them semi-themed as a family, here is what I did.

This is the whole lot of them!

This is mine. It reminds me of Sleeping Beauty, even with it being more purple than pink. It started out as a pink band.

This is DS's. He wanted a red band so we found red, white, and blue stars polish. He also wanted the orange on the Mickey head!

This is DH's. He wanted green band and not much else. DD thought it would be funny to give him a purple (girly) color on his Mickey head!

This is DD's. She did this herself. She did blue sparkle polish. We all have silver lining pen to surround/outline our Mickey heads.

Again, all of our bands together.

Alright.... Trying to repost now... This is my first band painting. It's Simba from "I Just Can't Wait to be King" when he bursts through the leaves and has a leaf mane. I used acrylic paint and have yet to seal or use any base coats. All are free-handed images. Enjoy! :]

Please don't paint over this, it's so wonderful!

Speaking of Nightmare Before Christmas, I just finished mine. I used acrylic with fingernail topcoat. In a few months, going to some parks and typhoon lagoon, we'll see how they hold up.

Your NBC band is incredible! I'd love to do a Halloween themed band for our fall trip, but alas, I'll have to wait to get mine at the resort. We did get orange and green for the season though! :)

I'm going to be keeping my eyes peeled for swirly filigree tattoos that I can put on easily when I get there, and rhinestones of course!

I tried to make a spindle on the little mickey... hope that reads alright!

I love your band, but I really love the spindle...genius!

Great minds think alike...I decorated my MB last weekend and it is remarkably similar, yet very different, to your Maleficent MB. I used nail polish, nail pens/gems and a tattoo that I embellished as a nod to the briar.

Love it!

I spent at least a week trying to come up with ideas for a Nightmare Before Christmas band before giving up (or postponing until I get another band), and yours is so much better than anything that I thought of. It looks great!

any feedback? anyone used nail polish, etc... how did it hold up, did it crack? Do they still work well with the mickey covered? Thanks!!!

The general consensus seems to be that nail polish holds up well, but the bands should be painted connected rather than straightened out, and base coat is a more flexible than top coat, so use base coat as a top coat. Mickey can be covered, no problem.

I know I am missing something, but you get the idea. ;)

I used nail polish on mine, and haven't worn it to the park yet, but with the amount that I have opened, closed, and added to mine without any cracking, I am guessing that it will hold up well.

Thanks for the kind words, it is really hard to come up with ideas, I know what you mean. I wanted a little of everything represented and just started trying to think of the main things because there isn't a lot of room and you've got a limited amount of MB to work with. Just keep your mind open and just go for it. Pick your favorite stuff and just do it. From the most basic designs to the incredible artists...they are all awesome in their own way. I wonder is Disney envisioned this creativity to occur.

Haunted Mansion is a good one...lots of really good ideas there.

I just thought of more hints. Use a nail lacquer thinner...it really helps get a nice smooth coats, and stay away from the super hard finish polishes, because they are not flexible. Don't be afraid to use polish remover, it won't damage anything. And most important of all, have fun!

I love the silver lining! What kind of pen did you use? Paint pen, gel pen, nail art pen?
