haloween on a cruise ??

I'm thinking of a cruise next fall for those of you who did a cruise during haloween week does DCL do something special for haloween ????if so what ??
did you like your experience ?

They have a trick or treat for the kids one time, the characters appear in costume one night, there was a costume contest (can't for the life of me remember if it was for the kiddies or adults...I wanna say adults.)

We did a cruise in Oct '09 and they did as the PP said, trick or treat for the kids, characters in costumes, costume contest (I think there was a kids and adults one, but I also forget).

One thing to keep in mind is that traditionally these events are held in the afternoon. If the celebration falls on a port day, like that Halloween cruise in '09 and we anticipate this year on the 10/30 cruise then you may have to choose between missing the DCL events and being in port.

Trick or Treat is usually the 4pm hour and dance parties. etc. 5 pm hour. Other kids events happen throughout the night in the kids clubs. Adult costume contest usually in the 10 pm hour.

Here is some info from one of the past Halloween cruises '08 I think- not much has changed since then (aside from the HSM3 theme)

DW & I are actually are going to be dressing up for the Halloween fun….really looking forward to it.
Hope my will be in customs’ as well…Should be a great time (going on Oct 23rd)

we carved pumpkins in the teen club. idk about the other club levels. we also decorated the stack with halloween decorations including window clings/fake cobwebs etc...
