OK, I NEVER use Avis, but I guess I signed up for their emails. I booked 2 rentals with this offer. And one does not include a Sat night stay, and it went thru (did not see the requirement until now). For one of them I also added the $30 off from Costco (the one that included a Sat night stay).

I need an SUV for my son's large Convaid chair.

Intermediate SUV for $22 a weekend day or $149 a weekly rental
Standard SUV for $25 a weekend day or $169 a weekly rental
AWD # S767700
Rate Code V4

Offer can be reserved now for pickup by 6/30/12 at participating Avis locations in the contiguous U.S. excluding New York. The offer is valid on Intermediate SUV (group F) and Standard SUV (group W). Offer applies to weekend and weekly rates; weekly rates require a five consecutive day minimum rental and a 14-day maximum rental. A Saturday night keep is required. The weekend rental period begins Thursday at noon and car must be returned by Monday 11:59 p.m. or higher rate may apply. A Saturday night keep is required. To use this offer, reservation must be booked 24 hours in advance of pickup. Please use AWD S767700 to take advantage of this offer.

It sounds great, but didn't work for my Feb or June trip that I checked. Do you have to enter a Wizard membership number to get the rate? I don't have one and didn't want to sign up before checking to see that the rate came up.

It worked for my Feb trip and my May trip. Hmm. I may have a Wizard number but did not enter it anywhere.

I saw this on my reservation:

AWD Number: S767700
Rate Code: V4

Maybe you need that rate code thing. I booked it my clicking thru the email.

We need a rental for 15 days and this is maximum 14. It jumps from $318 for 2 weeks to $1100 with the extra day on there.

Poo. I want an SUV but the best deal I have found so far is through National. It's less than $100 from this (when you add taxes, etc.) so I guess I'll just keep looking....

Worked for me  Going 4/28/12 - 5/5/2012. Not a wizard member, just used the code as mentioned above. Base rate was $159 for an intermediate SUV, total with taxes is $225.52.

Wow, thanks so much, I've been checking for the last few weeks and the cheapest anything I found was $350 for the week, now we have a small suv for $266 including taxes. Thanks again for sharing!

Must be blocked out for certain dates (mine!). I can see it's there for 4/28 to 5/5 as someone else listed from MCO. When I check my dates 2/22 through 2/28 it's $599 per week for int SUV. It's showing for my June dates, but not when I pick up at MCO and return to Tampa - only for MCO for both.

ARGH. Decisions decisions. This rate gets me an SUV for the whole trip for the same price as a full size car from Hertz. Problem is that hertz is right in the Lakeland airport and Avis is offsite (just a mile or two). So we'd need to taxi there. Not a big deal. However, we arrive at 1:30 on a Saturday and Avis closes at 2pm. That's cutting it close. Any kind of delay and we'd be stuck without a car to get to Universal!
I guess I will stick with Hertz because they promise to stay open until everyone from the flight has picked up their car. But oh how I wish I could use this deal!!

Have you thought of making 2 reservations with this code? One for the first week or so, and then a second one at an Avis close to where you are staying. It would take a little time to go turn in the SUV and pick up another, but it might be worth it to get a great rate and be able to stop looking:)

Hi! One quick question. How do I use the Costco $30 discount? We are executive members at Costco. :)

THANKS AGAIN! :goodvibes

We're in !!! :thumbsup2
$222.26 total for the week of 4/14 - 4/21 :cool1:
It's $77 less than the Premium car we have reserved at Budget. :surfweb:
Now we have to decide, Premium car, $77 ? :teacher:
Good luck all,
Joe

:worship: Thank you!! We got the Ford Escape or similar for $225.52 total!! That just saved me almost $60 from the compact car I had booked through Hertz:yay:

Hooray, I finally helped people! I was getting frustrated at the car rental rates, and really almost just deleted the email (I mean really, AVIS?) I usually use Alamo, used to use National but they have been high. Sometimes I use that Budget code that is from here on DIS too.

And the codes are just from an email sent to me, nothing secret or requiring a membership apparently. The webpage link is here:

I tossed a Costco coupon code on one of the reservations, I think it took, I did not look that closely at the receipt, I should have though. I am a Costco member, too.

oh my goodness, thank you soooo much! We usually use alamo too but for our dates we were getting rates of $600 and up!! :scared1: anyone have any experience renting from avis?

my total is not as low as some of the others I've seen but it's better than anything I've gotten so far!!
April 29 - may 9th
suv
base rate $255
with taxes & fees: $349

OP, a big thank you!!

You saved us $80+!! :yay:

Just so others can compare, we booked a standard SUV from 5/17-5/26 for $324 which includes all charges. :cool1:

Thanks again!

SWEET!!!! I just reserved a Ford Focus for 4/21-4/28 from Sanford/Orlando airport for $222.26. This will be great for 4 adults. :cool1::cool1: That's a few $$ cheaper than the Aveo and Focus I had booked with other rental companies.

THANK YOU!!! I had booked a full size car through expedia.ca for about $135 but can get a full size SUV here for about $207 for the week (after the $30 Costco coupon is applied).

Do you know where I can print the costco coupon? I always like to have a copy on hand -- just in case!

Thanks again!

ETA: Does anyone know if we can stack the AVIS rate and Costco coupon? Does AVIS allow this like Alamo? I only ask b/c the fine print of the Costco coupon says May not be used in conjunction with any other coupon, promotion or offer except your Costco member discount. I'm pretty sure it always says that and we've used it without problem with Alamo -- but wasn't sure about AVIS.

I can't see whether or not this includes unlimited miles. Does Avis generally include unlimited mileage? Because this is several hundred dollars cheaper than the Budget code I have right now.
