Gratuity for IllumiNations cruise captain?

Just need a little help determining what sort of gratuity is standard for cruise captains. Do we figure 15% - 20% of the cruise cost? Please share your experiences. Thanks!

That sounds about right. We've been there when some have tipped nothing, some have tipped $10 and some have tipped $20 and up. 15-20% is a good number to shoot for.

I am glad this was asked, I was not planning on tipping but guess I will.

We have always felt the service we have had on our cruises was worth a 20% tip.

We tipped $20 back in 2004. Not sure if the prices for the cruises have gone up, but 15-20% is a good gauge.

UPDATE:
We had a wonderful time on our cruise in October, and met some terrific people!

Our cruise was $250 after tax, so we tipped our captain $50.
