Syko - Keeping the fingers crossed that you can find a babysitting alternative. You've worked way too hard to come this far and have to back out now!
Pat - Awesome job at Kiawah! I can't believe you and Anne went back out and did that much additional mileage. I know Wendy appreciated it.
Diane - We didn't ever have Tylenol either, but I bought a bottle of generic acetaminophen just to be able to carry some in my running pack. Now all my running buddies know that I have it, so I have to restock on a regular basis!
I'm beginning to feel the effects of multiple races pre-Goofy. I don't know how Wendy, Pat, Anne, Lily, and all the others are doing it. Between Richmond in November and Victory Junction on Sunday, my body is telling me "no more!" And I'm trying to tell it that we still have to train for 39 more miles! Did the half marathon on Sunday, which I'd promised to do as an easy training run, and got a PR. It started sleeting at mile 10, and we were cold. So we ran faster! I'm still hurting from the hills, and my body is tired. I don't want to run. Right now I don't care if I never run again, but I expect that feeling to pass pretty quickly. In fact, I'm supposed to do a fun "Jingle Jog" with my running group on Saturday, but now the forecast is calling for rain and/or snow, so I may pass on that so I can join an even more exciting opportunity on Sunday to run with the "Run to the Keys" in conjuntion with the Power Up Foundation. Here's the info:
Coach Merrill is in the process of organizing a historic run that is scheduled to begin October 4th, 2009 in Boston, Massachusetts and to conclude March 2010 in Key West, Florida. The run is scheduled to last 6 months and will have Coach Merrill running 13.1 miles a day. Along the east coast route, Coach Merrill plans to speak at Universities, Colleges, community organizations, and high schools to spread his message of achieving positive mental health through positive physical health.
The Mission of the Power UP Foundation is to promote positive physical and mental health to communities across the United States. The Power UP Foundation is designed to provide financial support to community programs that promote better physical fitness and mental health to its citizens.
He's going to be running through Raleigh Sunday morning, and we've been invited to run along with him for the 13.1. Sounds like a lot of fun! And it would be a good way to get in a different sort of LR. Something to look forward to.
