So the forecast for our trip next week is coming into focus. And like so many weeks ahead of us, the forecast is rain, rain rain.

So give me your best tips on enjoying the parks in the rain! I just ordered rain gear on Amazon and plan to be out in it.

Do you have character meeting tips for rainy times? Do they hang out indoors? Anyone want to share alternate spots to meet them? How about the Town Square characters? Do they meet inside somewhere?

We always told our kids "when it rains, every ride is a water ride!" After paying $$$$, I wasn't going to listen to whining about rain. Nobody is going to melt.

Town Square characters will meet under building overhangs where possible. Wear waterproof shoes if you can and if not, bring a second pair of shoes and extra dry socks to change into halfway through the day. You can put your extra gear in a locker if you want. Bring some plastic grocery bags to stow your wet gear. Nothing is worse than cold, wet feet in the parks! Poncho to wear over a backpack if you are wearing one.

I actually just ordered rain jackets and a rain cover for the backpack. I didn't do shoe covers but might consider that still. At least bringing a change of shoes and socks is a good plan.

That's good to hear about the characters. I'll keep an eye out.

Thanks for your feedback!

What website or app are you looking at that is predicting rain, rain, rain? I don't see a lot of rain predicted next week. I see it described as "a couple of showers" and "light rain", You're arriving on Monday and the showers that day are supposed to end in the morning. The rest of the week looks pretty dry.

The Main Street characters have also been using the exit next to the Opera House for meet & greets. If it is just sprinkling, they usually wait until it stops before coming out.

The parade will take place if it isn't raining and the street is dry. Otherwise they go to rainy day mode. If the early parade is rainy day mode and it is clear for the late parade, the late parade will run from Small World to Main Street.

In DCA, you can often find characters in the Animation Academy.

Just the weather app that comes loaded on the iphone. But even over the course of today it has shown lots of change for those days, so now most of the days are showing clear thankfully! Lots better than I was seeing the last few days. So fingers are crossed that I won't need the additional info, but want to be prepared regardless.

I wondered if maybe they might use the Opera House. Thanks for that info.

Fingers crossed we can catch the full parade on one of our 2 holiday time days (since there won't be any kind of parade our last full day).

Animation Academy makes sense for DCA.

Thanks so much for chiming in! I think my daughter would be happy if we could just do Haunted Mansion Holiday over and over. Thank heaven that one is indoors and will go on regardless!
