I've always wanted to try Coral Reef but I don't eat seafood. It looks delicious though!
They actually have a lot of land food options as well

It was surprisingly very good !
Judas Priest you cannot get a break. I would have flung them both in the tank by now.
I have now decided that I should try Coral Reef. I have hesitated because I thought I would feel guilty, eating a relative of something swimming.
I got over it after seeing your dish.
lol, that didn't bother me. I admit, it was a pretty dish

And it really was very good!
I bet you wont be bringing them along anymore..

I understand completely this is why we dont go out to eat with certain members of our family..let alone taking them to disney..
Yes, totally learned my lesson and in a HUGE way by bringing them along LOL. I like to think of it that we have good taste and they just don't!
Love your reviews! So sorry you had to listen to those whiners the whole vacation, what a bunch of Debbie downers! I have a serious annoyance with grown people eating like picky toddlers.
The mahi at Coral Reef is one of my favorite meals at Disney, your review makes me want to make another trip there soon!
Ya know, it kind of was WORSE than eating with picky toddlers. They eventually become satisfied with some mac n cheese or chicken nuggets or whatever...I mean, your at Disney! OPEN YOUR MIND!
You really sound like a saint for dealing with this vacation!
Nice review of Coral Reef, I agree the atmosphere is pretty cool in there.
For sure want to take the kiddies here next visit
Oh wow they're getting even worse, I can't believe they couldn't find anything they liked off the regular menu and then even complained about the kids food!!!
But of course!
I'd have to guess she was fast because she was hoping to get rid of your BIL and SIS a bit faster

I work as a waitress and I'm guessing I would've felt that way. Some people seem to be determined to have a bad time and it can be frustrating when nothing you do makes them happy.
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your meal; I've been nervous to make an ADR there because I've heard some not so great reviews, but maybe I'll give it a try.
Never thought of it but your probably right!
Normally I wouldn't have made an ADR here to be honest but DH loves aquariums and so does SIS so I thought it'd be a nice place for them to see. The only thing that was mediocre was the rolls. The food was up to par for sure, especially our Mahi dish ! I'd say GO FOR IT
Thanks for the recipe, OP! I have to get through Easter cooking, but then I'll give it a try (and post a photo!).
Also thanks for the tip about using muffin pans: I haven't made another item that calls for ramekins - despite having the recipe for years - because I just never get around to buying ramekins (and I'm big on decluttering - I hesitate to buy ramekins because I'd probably use them 1x a year).
So, thanks for both the recipe and decluttering tip!
Your Welcome

( I say this after I just went out and bought a set of 4 ramekins just for the purpose of making creme brulee LOL)
Where is the recipe?
Love your reviews so far! I'm Canadian so I never been to Golden Corral but I'll be sure to avoid it whenever we're in the USA!
Definitely not a MUST DO while visiting the States
And here is the recipe !
Its actually quite easy! I don't have a double boiler so I just used a pot with water until boiling and melted my chocolate/butter in a bowl sitting in the pot.
I also dont own ramekins so used a muffin pan as well. Perfect lil portions because they are SO rich!
Molten Chocolate Cakes
1 stick (4 ounces) unsalted butter
6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, preferably Valrhona
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
1/4 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Preheat the oven to 450°. Butter and lightly flour four 6-ounce ramekins. Tap out the excess flour. Set the ramekins on a baking sheet.
In a double boiler, over simmering water, melt the butter with the chocolate. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs with the egg yolks, sugar and salt at high speed until thickened and pale.
Whisk the chocolate until smooth. Quickly fold it into the egg mixture along with the flour. Spoon the batter into the prepared ramekins and bake for 12 minutes, or until the sides of the cakes are firm but the centers are soft. Let the cakes cool in the ramekins for 1 minute, then cover each with an inverted dessert plate. Carefully turn each one over, let stand for 10 seconds and then unmold. Serve immediately.
Make Ahead The batter can be refrigerated for several hours; bring to room temperature before baking.
I'm in! I can't wait to see what else she has to say. I wouldn't ever take any of my DH's family on a trip and do more than an occasional meal or partial day in a park with them. I know what I would here, so I just won't do that at "my happy place".
Don't blame ya, I'd strongly advise against it now that I've lived through the nightmare
