This trip has been interesting to say the least. While the hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves for the most part my sister and her other half were near impossible to please. Being somewhat of a pro, I tried my best to book the Nicest dinners for them and show them the magical world that I so deeply looooove with all my heart. Half way into it all I gave up with trying to please them. Persistent, incessant complaining gets realllly old after so long....reservations for 2 please!!! LOL

So as we embark on the long drive home to the land of cold and snow, otherwise known as Michigan ....(God help me)......I figured I could get this dining review started ! Suppose ill do the whole 1-5 scale , 1 being the worst and 5 being the best. We dined at some pretty good places in my opinion. We stayed 1 night at POP and the other 7 offsite which was new to me.

Here's the line-up!

POP Century Lunch
California Grill Dinner
Casey's Corner Lunch
Yachtsman Dinner
Cosmic Rays Snack
Patisserie France
Coral Reef Dinner
Epcot Eats
DHS Snacks
Brown Derby Lunch
sci Fi Lunch
Pizza Hut Dinner
Perkins Breakfast
Ohanas Dinner
Germany Lunch
Boardwalk Bakery Snacks
BlueZoo Dinner
Pizzafari Breakfast
Sanaa Lunch
Hotel Dinner
Sleepy Hallow Breakfast
Casey's Corner Lunch
Artist Point Dinner
Magic Kingdom Snacks
Earl of Sandwich Lunch

There she be. All in all it was good. Once I get back home I will have the full reviews, lots of pics and a whole lotta elaboration regarding the complainers. Hands down, best meal of the trip was .....dum dum dum....

Guess you'll just have to read to find out :p

Can't wait to read your reviews. At least you & your hubby had fun even if your sister didn't. Might be better off just having dinner with the 2 of you like you said. LOL

Too bad about the bad luck dining with your sister! I go to Disney with my sister & her family but luckily we all enjoy the Disney restaurants. I would be really disappointed to vacation with someone that was a downer!

That said, I can't wait to read your reviews!

Your sister sound like my friends who said Cici's Pizza was the best meal they ate. That is until O'Hana. Everyone loved O'Hana except one person.

Signing in for the food and family drama ,

OK, normally I just peruse the different reviews, but this one really intrigued me :goodvibes. I can't wait to read your reviews. We have gone with family members that were really hard to please too, that is when DH and I said that our Disney vacations is going to be for our own family that's it. Since then, it has been much happier times :goodvibes.

:lmao: That title sounds like something my mother would say. I don't know if I could ever go back to WDW with her. She likes the most bland food imaginable. Looking forward to your reviews!

Exactly why I only vacation with my little immediate family. I would probably choke someone if they complained every single day of vacation. :stir:

Can't wait to read the reviews!

Subbing.

My mom met us at the World one trip and complained continually about the food, especially the prices, even though we were on the DxDDP and I really tried to show off our favorites. She still says her best meal was at Casey's but "that thing cost 8 bucks! Shoulda been gold-plated!" :rotfl2:

In other words, I understand.

Mid week that is exactly what we ended up doing!

List looks great. Cant wait to hear all about it.

Thanks! Just got home after a LONG trip!

Joining in. Looks great!

Thanks :)

Count me in. Disney food porn and family drama wrapped up in one. Who can't relate?! ;)

LOL, I know right!

Subbing! Can't wait!

Thanks, I'm excited to get started as well.

Welcome :)

Ya know, it was an experience believe me. Never again...live and learn, right LOL.

Ew...lol, just about as bad as Golden Corral ;) Even though Ohana had the least amount of complaints from them, they still managed to find things wrong with it all.

I'm just glad the hubby and I got home in one piece after a very tense trip home.

I'm telling you, there seemed to be no pleasing my Sister and BIL. Especially my Sister. I was in tears on the ride home after it all because I really tried to make their vacation and dining experiences special seeing as though it was their first visit. I can't let it take away from our FUN and great memories though! We had a great time :) We have already decided that we will never again travel to WDW with anyone else but ourselves and the kids.

Haha love the title.

Good :) Figured it would catch attention!

Thats pretty much how they are. Burgers, chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy....don't like to step outside the box whatsoever. To each their own! lol

Yea, I hear ya! I was borderline becoming a wrist cutter on the drive home listening to all of the complaining and comments on how this, that and the kitchen sink was wrong, bad or a disaster. JK, but it was very uncomfortable and very disappointing on my behalf to hear how disastrous their vacation was from the food to the car rental to the hotels.

Anyway! Thanks all for joining in! Going to get started now!

Can't wait to read your reviews! I'm planning my Dsis first trip with ours in October this year. Hoping it goes better than your sister's trip. Not too worried about the food but I want her to feel the magic I always feel!

I'm laughing at your DR title because there is no place I hate eating at more than Golden Corral! You have my sympathies dining with people that have questionable judgment if that is their idea of a good meal.;)

We ended up staying at POP for one night before our 7 night hotel stay offsite. By the time we checked in to POP we were all pretty Hungry but knew not to eat too much with our California Grill reservation for later on that evening. I had been craving their pizza and tye dye cheesecake for a while now so I knew exactly what I was going to get.

The place was a nuthouse and had changed from our last visit 3 years ago. I just about had a panic attack walking into it all to be honest. Went up to check their menus out and guess what....couldn't find the personal pizzas :( OK. Hubby was hungry and wanted to just grab something so we ended up doing the mexican side.

We chose the "Poppin Nachos Supreme - house-made chips topped with beef chili, chicken chili, or vegetable chili and your favorite toppings $6.79". We wanted the chicken chili but they didn't have any up so I opted for the pulled pork. We also ended up getting a side of vegetable chili. After this was assembled I went to grab my beloved cheesecake. Another surprise with this......its no longer in slice form  Its smaller now and in one of those little circular dessert molds. No biggie, at least they had it right?!

Grabbed a Strawberry milk and a Coke and checked out. Found a Booth, sat down and ate. I guess I should mention here that the Hubby and I almost always split our meals. I'm a pretty petite gal and he isn't a large eater and we hate to waste food! It works out very well for us to do this and we have never incurred a problem once whether in Disney or anywhere else for that matter :)

Onto the food....

First thing I went for was the cheesecake. Yah...I love my desserts. And since I don't have the gallstones this time around I can pretty much eat whatever I want! LOL.

Disappointed with the cheesecake this time. A lot of the reason why is because its not the way it used to be. I liked the thickness of the actual slices before. Of course its smaller now and not anywhere near as creamy or dense. Mine was pretty sticky, and reminded me of how jello gets when you don't cover it with that film over the top of it??? The cake underneath the cheesecake was maybe about a 1/4 inch thick. It was edible. Even borderline good. But thats it. I won't get it again...that is, unless they switch it back to the RIGHT way! ;)

The Nachos were different. They used actual potato chips that were a bit sweet, almost cinnamon tasting. Cooked like a kettle chip, very crunchy. Odd to pair up with what we put on em. We had black beans, onions, jalapenos, shredded pork, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, salsa...I think thats all?? They gave us a seriously generous serving.

It was fresh. Different. And bland. Thank the good LORD for salt and pepper ! I would have liked to have had some typical fresh tortilla nacho chips with this instead of the sweet tasting potato chips to be honest. We love to try different things though and these were interesting. We filled up and still had a LOT left afterwards. These would be great to share though, even between kiddies or for a family snack.

The Vegetable chili was severely bland. Salt and pepper could not help this one guys. Unless your a vegetarian, I'd steer clear from this. I love beans and I love veggies too. Just no flavor to it, it could have been good if they would have added some different spices/seasoning just to make it have flavor. Oh well! The Nesquick was SOOOO good! And our bellies were full now!

The Sister ended up getting a bean and cheese burrito and BIL got the 4 taco meal. For the price, the taco meal seems to be a pretty darn good deal! I don't recall which kind they got. I do recall them not liking it and my Sister specifically complaining about the beans not being "normal". Apparently Pinto beans are normal while black beans are not. Hmm...maybe thats why I prefer the black beans hehe. She also was not happy with the cost and said it was cold.

SMH....let the show begin! :p

Off to DTD, then California Grill for opening dinner!

One thing I learned is that not everyone "feels" the magic us Dis'er's feel. Sure isn't something that can be forced upon another LOL.

I'm sure it will go better for you guys! Our trip was good overall, Hubby and I didn't let their attitudes and what not effect our well earned vacation!
