Girls Trip #1 (check in daily for any plans being finalized or changes/updates)

Meanwhile.... I got me a roomate!

Awww!!!! Im am so glad he is okay!!! Those head wounds bleed like the dickens, dont they? My dd fell in her brothers room, and her top teeth gouged into her lip.. She was screaming, and spitting out blood... and what looked like chunks of her tongue.. Thankfully it wasnt her tongue, it was just the way it looked... But I woke dh up screaming my head off.... He is my calming presence!! Without him around, I would be a nervous wreck!

Oh your poor girl!

Since DS was 6 months old (actually even during my labor) I am the calm voice of reason while others are freaking out around me. When he was 6 months old he lost a tooth due to being tired, being in a highchair, and either too close to or too far from a table. Since then I've been the "go to" person for injuries and blood-related problems. (I might add that I was the accident prone child in our household, so I'm used to blood, lol)

But not yesterday. I mean, I held it together in between bursts of tears, asking DS questions to see if there were obvious problems, talking to him, etc, and asking the EMTs questions, but ultimately it was DH's time to shine in a calm, cool, collected way. Then after we got home, he collapsed like I do when I've been the "go to" person...the adrenaline gets you through and then you pretty much pass out.

I forgot to mention what this has to do with the trip...we just, as in the DAY before, signed up for benefits at DH's brand new job, and signed up for the high deductible plan with an HRA. So allllll of that ER stuff, and the ambulance transport, is going to "go towards the deductible", the high deductible, and since we just started it, there's nothing in the HRA. All out of pocket. Oh what a joy.

The ambulance guys put a blanket on him, and the firefighter guy who was there first gave him a teddy bear. He's not too into teddy bears so we might drop it off at the firestation near us, but when I realized they were just leaving that blanket, I took that thing home. If they are going to charge me for it, I'm taking the dang thing home!

Anyway, with a transport and 2 hour ER visit looming to pick our pockets, I'm not sure of April. DH "won't let me" (aka "doesn't want me to") cancel the December trip (it's all in savings already) especially b/c this hospital takes AGES to bill (when DS was burned in mid-June we didn't get an explanation of benefits until late Sept, and then a bill early October) and we won't know how much we owe until probably February.

But yeah, depending on how much of the deductible we're going to be paying here once they bill, it might not be possible to join you.

So I have a question for everyone, (mostly cause I am nosey and I love getting to know you type questions):

How many times have you been to Disneyland, WDW or any of the other Disney parks?

I have been to DL at least once a year my entire life and had a AP I use very regularly for the past 6 years going on 7. How about you guys???

My first trip was in '87, just my dad and I.
2nd: WDW, '93, my friend got to invite me for a graduation present.
3rd: WDW, '97, MIL invited us on the family trip with DHs sister and her husband and 3 kids. That was the last family trip we have gone on (dont know if we have been invited to any others, they go on one every year.)
4th: October '01 with my family (me, mom, dad, SIL, brother, 2 girlies, and SILs parents)
5th: November '02, Dbrother was racing in Pomona, had to drive. Darn it. It became a whole family trip. (my parents, both brothers, SIL, 2girlies)
6th: January '03. First DL trip for DH who lived around LA until he was 7. Also first trip for DSS.
7th: October '04, Everybody from '01 trip, plus DSS.
8th: January '06, DH & DSS
9th: May '07, Girlies trip. DSIL, 2 girlies, and SILs mom.
10th: October '07 DH & DSS.

Molly, glad DS is ok. Hate those ambulance bills.
DSS was kind of a klutz when he was younger. Luckily for me none of his major moments that required ER trips or stitches wherent when I was in charge. But plenty of cuts, bumps, and bruises. Im always the one that examines the cuts. DH says I get into my CSI mode.

And totally wait, Molly... my dad died one month before our DL trip last june... We had to shell out a ton of money for it, plane tickets, food, clothes, hotel... but we HAD to go to DL after all that. So we did a really budget trip, but made it work.

The "nice" thing about yesterday is that I'm getting a break this week. I've told DS that Nurse Charity (she's SO nice and did triage with us in June when he burned himself) told us that he is not allowed to climb or run or do anything crazy ("normal"), so he has to be calm. Mainly it's b/c I'm twitching and bursting into tears whenever he jumps or trips...but I figure being calm for a week can't hurt him, right?

If only our December trips were the same week, instead of one after the other! It could be a mini-get-together.

I'm trying to come up with something about the April trip, but my mind is drawing a blank, b/c right now it just seems so far away.

I've been to Disneyland waaaay too many times to count! My first trip was in 87 I think, when I was 3 years old and I've gone every year since then. I am now 23, so thats alot of trips. On top of that, I was an annual passholder for a few years and easily went twice a month. Now, I go about 3 times a year. Usually a day trip & two longer trips.
I have never been to WDW but I am thinking of going in 2009. I get a one week paid vacation every year at work and if I can save up enough & find someone to go with me, WDW is next on my list!
