Hi January!! That is too funny. I can picture you both side by side like this :surfweb: :lmao:

It's 9:00 so I need to start getting my kiddos into bed. Hmmmm, that'll be fun.

I was just thinking about some of the meals for this trip. I know we talked about a character meal which I think is a great idea. Hopefully we can find the date that most people will be there and do it then.

But I was wondering, anyone interested in doing Blue Bayou? I've never been. Well, not true. I went once, ages ago. I hear mixed reviews on it, but I might try it.

Also what about some of the DTD restaurants? Anyone interested in trying some of those? I'd like to try HOB.

Anyways, just looking to have some suggestions thrown out there. :thumbsup2

I like BB and I would love to try out House of Blues... That sounds like so much fun!:woohoo: :woohoo: Jazz Kitchen is really good too.

I am very into doing BB for lunch, I love the place!

And for DTD I will be honest I do not prefer HOB since I am a veggy and they have next to nothing (I think only one salad, the cornbread and potatos are veggy). I prefer Jazz Kitchen. I love the food and the servers overall are really cool, I go very often.

I also love UVA bar, its in the middle of the DTD walkway, has really good appetizer style foods for a decent price and great drinks. It is a really good place to go for a small late meal or for drinks.

I liked Catal but for the prices a bit high so we hardly ever go there, but would be up to it if the group is into the idea.

I'm taking the train to Anaheim as well... I'm in the Antelope Valley so it works out to about 2.5 hours by trains (have to take 2). I can't wait.

Steph

Now here is a small world, I live in the AV too! I have never taken the train how does that work??

:) My answers are in pink.

:thumbsup2 Pink is my favorite color!

I know thats a broad question, but in a nutshell what does everybody here like to do?

I hang out with DH, I love to read, photography, Dancing (both Belly Dancing and going to clubs), shopping, playing on my computer and I make soap and other bath products for online sales.

Belly dancing is fantastic. I haven't ever done it myself, but I've watched belly dancers before and its such a fun form of dance. The costumes are great too!

What are my interests and hobbies?
I love to scrapbook whenever I have time. I've started to become a reality tv junkie :happytv:
And next week I'm graduating from college so I will have a lot more time on my hands, my husbands thinks I'm going to be extremely bored because as of late I've been doing a lot of this :surfweb: since my classes are online

Congrats on graduation! I just graduated this past May in Psychology. What is your major?

Hi, Ashley! Great questions for us to answer!:thumbsup2

My hobbies and interests: I love scrapbooking, reading, watching movies, camping, and of course DISING! I also loves me some WDW or DL! I wish I could go to both places more often.
My perfect evening: I am really a simple girl. I just love evenings at home watching a movie. I love being comfy at home with my family.

I'm a simple girl too!

I'm so glad so many people answered my questions!

I have heard a lot of good things about Jazz Kitchen. I wouldn't mind trying it out or UVA bar. That place looks so cool at night.:goodvibes

Okay... hobbies. Well, I dont have much time for hobbies being attached at the hip to a 2yo!:lmao: But I like to read, and Dis, and plan vacations... Oh, and going on the vacations is fun as well!:rotfl2:

Do at night? Well... DH works at night so I put the kids to bed, and hop on the puter.

Day off? Ive never had one! I really would like to spend some quality time with dh. I dont think that I have seen him for more than an hour in a few weeks!:lmao: But Thanksgiving is coming, and he is going to have a day off!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

OMG....that dancing pickle is killing me!:lmao:

How nice that your man will have some family time this Thanksgiving! I work at the same place as my husband and I sometimes wish I could get some time away....:rolleyes1

I do love him though.

Hi, Beth!
I am interested in a character meal...I am lost on what the plans are. I am reading this thread when I am way too tired.:rotfl: I like food...so whatever one everyone else is into I am cool with.:)
Blue Bayou was pretty good. I am also cool with this if this is what everyone else wants to do.
Is Hojo's where everyone plans on staying? CCI looks nice, too. Plus, does everyone have an AP? Could we look into AP rates when the time approaches? Sorry if this has all been discussed.:upsidedow :flower3:
Well, nothing's set in stone right now. We are just throwing out ideas and someone mentioned a character meal. I think that would be a fun way to do a meal all as one large group. And I don't really care which one we do, I just think we should do it maybe on a Saturday when mostly everyone will be there .

Blue Bayou would make a nice lunch one day as well for those who are interested. So we can add that on there.

I think they are talking about HOJO's and Callie is going to check on some discounts for us since I don't think anyone wants to pay rack rate. Hopefully that works out. If not, I like the looks of CCI so I wouldn't be opposed to that. :thumbsup2

I think from what I've seen so far, most people have an AP, but I could be wrong. I have a questions though. When you say AP rates, what do you mean? Just at the on site hotels or do others give discounts for APs too?

My DH works nights too. He was working from 6:30 pm to 2:30 am but now he's going to start working from 7:30 pm until 6 am.

I am not happy about it since I don't sleep when he's not home. I went to bed last night around 4 a.m. (ok that would be this morning then lol) and woke up at 11. I cannot keep those hours!! :sad2:

That is nice he'll be with ya'll on Thanksgiving. Sounds like he could use a break and you could use some real time together.

I always tease my DH that if we worked together, he'd hate me!! :rotfl2:

Hojos has a 15% AP discount.

Thumbs up on the pink! :thumbsup2
And thanks for asking the questions. It's fun to be able to get to know each other better before hand.

I've never been to HOB but a friend of mine swears by the Wild Mushroom Pasta:
Wild Mushroom Pasta - with Penne, Shiitake, Oyster and Portobello Mushrooms, Chicken, and Smoked Gouda Cheese.

And I am dying to try it. Will they make special requests for you? :confused3

The UVA bar sounds like it would be fun to hang out at. :thumbsup2

The Jazz Kitchen would work too. I'm ok anywhere as long as there is chicken. LOL

We could also split up one night, those who want to do HOB and some at Jazz Kitchen, then we could meet at the bar for drinks. Friday night might be a fun night to do that. :confused3

My hubby works from 10:30-6am... But we live kinda far from his work, so he leaves at 9, and gets home around 7... Just in time to take the boy to the bus stop!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: He has worked nights forever, so my problem is more that I cant sleep with him in the bed with me!:lmao: I tend to sleep best with a baby head in my arm pit!:lmao: :lmao:

Wow, that is quite a drive. I guess you get used to it. I don't know. Right now all I know is I'm not sleeping one bit and I'm not a happy camper. LOL

Plus I jump at every little noise and freak myself out...... :sad2:

How long has it been? It took me a while, I have never liked living alone, and it was right after we moved in together that he started nights... It was just me and my baby... I was freaking!!! But now... 4 years and one kid later, i am sooo used to it!:lmao:

Well, he started working until 2:30 am back in Sept. and he'll start working all night this week. So it hasn't been that long.

That must have been hard on you in the beginning. Especially with a baby. But after 4 years, I can see how you'd be used to it. LOL

I feel like I read that one other hotel, like a Best Western, or something else starting with a B? had an AP rate when someone called.

Oh wow that was almost negatively helpful.

Hobbies...thinking about all the photos I'm going to print, thinking of all the non-cutesie but non-boring scrapbooks I'm going to make someday...I read mystery novels like they are going out of style. I go to the library, pick something that looks interesting, read it in a day (fast reader), and if I like it (and I usually do) I'll put holds on ALL of the series (I only read series, I want to know the characters still exist! only exception to this is Dick Francis, he only wrote one "sequel" with a same character, and he was the BEST protagonist EVER, I'm still in love with that character). Then I read them in order. :rolleyes1

I don't know how you guys deal with your hubbies working over night. DH was working that shift when we met, but that's when he was sleeping 2 hours a night and thriving...when we started dating there were 48 hour periods when he had no sleep at all. But then he got laid off and got a daytime job, and since then when he toys with the idea of "ooh wouldn't the night shift pay differential be nice?" I let him know that working overnight is incompatible with our marriage...see my first stepdad worked graveyard and it gave him ALL sorts of time to be up to no good, and then he slept all day and we had to be silent until HE woke up, and I just hated living in that situation, so no graveyard shift for DH! Not everyone has that background, of course.

staley, I just saw this "I tend to sleep best with a baby head in my arm pit!". I can SO relate. Wish I had an actual baby there, but having "my baby" there is also good. :upsidedow
