Just thought I'd throw out a "get to know you" question for everyone here. I've learned alot about you guys from the quiz we all filled out and just by reading everyone's posts but I was wondering...what are everyone's interests and hobbies? I know thats a broad question, but in a nutshell what does everybody here like to do? What is a perfect evening for you? If you could do anything on your day off, what would you do?
I'll start....
I love to read. I am a HUGE reader. If I don't have a book to read, I go crazy. There is always a little stack of books by my bedside table that I am currently reading or about to read. I love books!
I also like shopping, watching movies, being with my kitty or any animal for that matter, going out to restaurants, photography, decorating, DISing, and watching my San Diego Padres during baseball season.
A perfect evening for me is a relaxing evening. Watching a movie, having a nice dinner, and just enjoying some down time. Give me some comfy pjs, a Yankee Candle burning, and a great movie & I'm a happy girl!
On my days off I like to go shopping, spend time with my mom, or visit some of the local attractions in San Diego. Thats one good thing about living in a tourist destination, there is always something to do!

I'm looking forward to learning some more about you ladies! :goodvibes

I have been watching this thread wishing I could go but we already have a trip planned for Feb-Mar with my DH and 5 kids so not this year. Where is everyone coming from, are most of you fairly close to Disneyland?

Angie

I'm coming from San Diego, so I'm pretty close! I'm pretty sure I'm taking the train up & its only an hour and five min. ride up there. Woo hoo!

43 seconds into it they finally show her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rko440ozHak

Her character's name was even Molly...

omg my apartment is such a mess, no energy to clean up after yesterday.

DangerMouse, I was about to ask if you'd heard from Willie, but I figure since it's not even an ordinary weekend, you probably won't until Tuesday. Patience is not my strong point...
OMG, watching that clip brings back so many memories!! :rotfl: I loved that show. Ahhh, to be young again. Or to at least have the body I had in my teens. :lmao:

Take a day off from cleaning. Seriously. You deserve it.

And I'm anxious to see what Willie has to say to. I wonder if he has any clue how many women he has waiting to hear his every word. :rotfl:

Hi Angie. I'm sorry you can't join us, but it sounds like you've got a fun family trip planned. And if it works out well, we can do this more often! :thumbsup2

I'm from the Vegas area, so it's about a 4 and a half hour drive for me.

I know thats a broad question, but in a nutshell what does everybody here like to do?

Hmmm, I don't know! LOL I like to listen to music, watch a good tv show or movie, hang out with my family, play on the computer, take little vacations or go camping. I think I'm pretty boring. :confused3

What is a perfect evening for you?
Well, it's been awhile but when DH and I were in CA, we'd go to the beach at night. I love the beach at night, especially walking along the pier. We used to do that when we were dating and then we'd take the kids with us in the later years. lol

If you could do anything on your day off, what would you do?
Well, since I'm a SAHM, a day off for me means not having to clean, cook or run errands. I enjoy spending time one on one with my kids. I'll take them to a movie, or my older DD and I will go hang out at the mall. That kind of stuff.

When the kids are in school, and after he wakes up, my DH and I will go for a nice leisurely lunch out just the two of us. That's always nice too.
:) My answers are in pink.

I can't remember that movie. I tried to Google it. Was it with Cheryl Ladd? If so then I think I saw that but can't remember much about it.

No Cheryl Ladd it was Christian Slater, Winnona Ryder and Shannon Daughtery

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097493/

I love the movie but when it came out me and my friend Heather always got asked if that was our real names in the 1970's all new babies seemed to be named Heather, Jennifer or Michelle so it seemed silly they thought we couldn't both be named Heather :rotfl:

We have actually done the "No Heather its Heathers turn" thing many times. :)

I know thats a broad question, but in a nutshell what does everybody here like to do?

I hang out with DH, I love to read, photography, Dancing (both Belly Dancing and going to clubs), shopping, playing on my computer and I make soap and other bath products for online sales.

What is a perfect evening for you?
Going out for a really nice dinner with DH, maybe then some fun activity like mini-golfing, bowling or something else fun and different. Or maybe out for some dancing.

If you could do anything on your day off, what would you do?

I would take off for wine country or one of my favorite little cities for wine tasting and picnic with DH. I already go to DL pretty frequently on my days off as it, including maybe a trip this week.

I'm taking the train to Anaheim as well... I'm in the Antelope Valley so it works out to about 2.5 hours by trains (have to take 2). I can't wait.

Yeah, I remember the Heathers movie. It was the Lisa one I coudn't think of. :thumbsup2 I couldn't forget Christian Slater. ;)

That's cool you are a dancer. How fun!! I bought one of those learn how to belly dance DVDs once. Ummmmm, yeah, that was not a pretty sight. :scared: :rotfl:

I like watching it though!

What are my interests and hobbies?
I love to scrapbook whenever I have time. I've started to become a reality tv junkie :happytv:
And next week I'm graduating from college so I will have a lot more time on my hands, my husbands thinks I'm going to be extremely bored because as of late I've been doing a lot of this :surfweb: since my classes are online

What is a perfect evening for me?
All of my kids in bed on time. After that as long as the house is quiet and I get to spend time with my husband I'm a happy woman. I enjoy watching movies, and every once in a while we play strategy games like Rise of Nations and Age of Empire. Lately we've been playing Mario Party 8 on our Wii

On my day off, what would I do?
If my kids were also off with me, then we would get out of the house and hit the park, maybe a picnic there as well. Now if it were just me, I'd lounge in my comfy pjs and veg in front on the tv with my laptop.

steph

Steph,
Since you are into reality tv, do you watch Amazing Race? I love that show!! I'm so glad it's back on. :happytv:

And congrats to you on your upcoming graduation!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yep. And I was happy about last week's final team that arrived. I believe Karma was a big factor in that.

Hi, ladies! I hope you all had a great weekend.
It is nice to have a little time on the dis before bed. My DH has discovered his own version of the dis.....the Bonsai boards. He is next to me on his laptop:surfweb: ....we ARE the fun couple on our street.:rotfl:

Just noticed there was an aspect to the question I missed.

Although I haven't been to the other parks, we want to. DH is half Korean, his dad was in shipping (after the Navy and Merchant Marines), and he spent quite a good part of his childhood in Asia. DH went to middle school in Taiwan, did Boy Scouts camping on Okinawa and when a typhoon loomed near, the Marines at the base took in his troop. He worked in Singapore, and of course spent vacations in Korea.

When we were first planning our wedding, I wanted a traditional Korean Buddhist wedding in Korea, and we would honeymoon there and have a little trip to Tokyo (his Korean family is NOT a fan of that nearby country and we would have had to sneak there), but ultimately his mother wouldn't help me (she's not a big fan of ME, either) so we scrapped the Korean wedding. But we would still love to visit!

Recently I read a trip report from Disney Sea (and Tokyo Disneyland) and both of us are almost desperate to go there now. It looks AMAZING. And since it costs so much money and time to get to Asia, we figure we'd just plan a big trip and go to Hong Kong Disney as well, along with all the temple visiting and such. :upsidedow

And of course when we're able to visit Europe (for me it would be again, for DH and DS it would be for the first time) a trip to Disney Paris would be needed to split up the intellectual museum-visiting and such. :rolleyes1

Sorry I'm so talkative, but yesterday I couldn't talk much, b/c DS fell backwards onto the base of a clothing rack (from the ground) and we went to the ER in an ambulance. Once they cleaned his head up, they saw it was a TINY opening in his skin, no bone involved, and if a concussion only the slightest one...but it was SCARY. I couldn't stop crying, while at Target where it happened (he had tried on mittens that were "tied" together with that plastic thing they have, and DH helped him try on a hat...DH was trying to get the hat off but it was tickling DS, and as DS squirmed and giggled, he fell, and b/c he had the tied-together mittens on, he couldn't put his hands out to the sides to stop the fall (nightmare) and bam), while in the ambulance where he couldn't see me, and even at the hospital, and then once we got home I was just a fountain of tears for *what could have happened*.

So now I'm making up for the lost posting time, since DS is totally OK today. Whew.

Love that sign. Showed it to DH, and he asked what I had done, to get onto a "wanted" sign.:upsidedow

I have never thought about going to Hong Kong Disneyland...my DH wants to go to China so bad. Maybe someday when Maddie is older.
:scared1: I would have lost it. I am glad to hear your little guy is ok.

Oh your poor girl!

Anyway, with a transport and 2 hour ER visit looming to pick our pockets, I'm not sure of April. DH "won't let me" (aka "doesn't want me to") cancel the December trip (it's all in savings already) especially b/c this hospital takes AGES to bill (when DS was burned in mid-June we didn't get an explanation of benefits until late Sept, and then a bill early October) and we won't know how much we owe until probably February.

But yeah, depending on how much of the deductible we're going to be paying here once they bill, it might not be possible to join you. :sad1:

I hope that it all works out for you and that you can still come. I hope you all have a great time in December.:wizard:

Hi January!! That is too funny. I can picture you both side by side like this :surfweb: :lmao:

It's 9:00 so I need to start getting my kiddos into bed. Hmmmm, that'll be fun.

I was just thinking about some of the meals for this trip. I know we talked about a character meal which I think is a great idea. Hopefully we can find the date that most people will be there and do it then.

But I was wondering, anyone interested in doing Blue Bayou? I've never been. Well, not true. I went once, ages ago. I hear mixed reviews on it, but I might try it.

Also what about some of the DTD restaurants? Anyone interested in trying some of those? I'd like to try HOB.

Anyways, just looking to have some suggestions thrown out there. :thumbsup2

Hi, Ashley! Great questions for us to answer!:thumbsup2

My hobbies and interests: I love scrapbooking, reading, watching movies, camping, and of course DISING! I also loves me some WDW or DL! I wish I could go to both places more often.
My perfect evening: I am really a simple girl. I just love evenings at home watching a movie. I love being comfy at home with my family.

Hey, BC!:)
I am not really close....I am in Boise, Idaho.

I forgot this one:

If you could do anything on your day off, what would you do?

I would sit on my rump watching DVD's and Judge Judy while wearing my PJs. Oh, and eating junk.

Hi, Beth!
I am interested in a character meal...I am lost on what the plans are. I am reading this thread when I am way too tired.:rotfl: I like food...so whatever one everyone else is into I am cool with.:)
Blue Bayou was pretty good. I am also cool with this if this is what everyone else wants to do.
Is Hojo's where everyone plans on staying? CCI looks nice, too. Plus, does everyone have an AP? Could we look into AP rates when the time approaches? Sorry if this has all been discussed.:upsidedow :flower3:
