Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Thanks for the updates MeMom! I wish that I had a suggestion for a part-time job that could help support your Disney habit. I wouldn't do babysitting on the weekend either. Too many kids, too many days in a row, would make me crazy! I agree that you need a break from kids for a couple of days. (in my humble opinion )

Yeah, I think I do, too. One of my kids was suspended last Thursday and Friday, and it made a world of difference in my class. He was the first one down the hall this morning, and he made up for the two days today. I would not have wanted to go to a 'kid job' today after school.

You guys are TOO funny!!!

You don't even know how many times I will be picking up the phone to call Jill when she texts or calls me right at that very miinute! Why would either of us even be thinking about Brooklynn's AUGUST birthday yesterday? Yet both of us were, and we were thinking the same them. Oooooo-weeeeee-oooo!

Great update MeMom! Those girls are just so cute!

Looks like we all had busy weekends. I know watching Brooklynn and her team chase that ball up and down the field was so much fun. I can't wait for Ty to start ball. He loves all kinds baseball, basketball, soccer and golf.
I remember Scott's first year of T-Ball. One minute they were all playing ball and the next minute every kid on the field was running the other way. Turns out a rabbit was spotted and that was more interesting the game. lol

Ty had his party this weekend and had wonderful time. His Mom rented one of those blow up bouncy things. It had a basketball net in it so he really liked it. I didn't do to good at taking pictures, but my DIL did so I'll have to get some of hers. My daughter Sarah offered to have the party at her house in town and she has a big fenced in backyard so it was easy to keep up with all of the little ones. We live in the "country" so this worked out really good.

They were setting up the bouncy thing and he was ready to get out to it.
First thing he did was take his shot! lol

Everyone had a great time.

I know how you feel about trying to make a few extra dollars. Since Denny drives to Memphis and back everyday the gas prices are hitting hard. I thought about putting the word out to see if anyone needed a place for their kids this summer. It's just we have a pool and I worry about that. My 3 kids are all really close in age. So, when my kids were growing up there were always kids in and out of our house. Eating, sleeping and playing only thing was I didn't get payed for it! lol It only slowed down when they started getting old enough to drive. My kids and their friends are adults now and they all still talk about how much fun they had here.

Have a great week!

Such a fun time for you guys! Family time is the best. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

My house was filled with kids, too. Some weekends we'd have up to a dozen in and out. I kept some while parents worked and some while parents played, so they'd be in and out at different times. Some spent the night, so we'd just lay out blankets and sleeping bags and put in Disney movies to fall asleep by. Those were fun times, but I am glad to have my weekends for just my own family now. It's great that your kids and others have good memories of time spent at your house. You were a good Mom! :thumbsup2

Bella looks so cute just waking up. Does she still have her paci since she is a big girl now. My daughter had hers until she was 3. I didn't have the heart to take it from her because she was so attached. When I finally took it, it wasn't too big a deal to her. I may have been more attached than she was.

She's a paci girl. Jill is breaking from her it little by little, but Bella is pretty fond of it.

Here are a few pictures from 'soccah day' Saturday. All the way there, Bella was saying, "I pay soccah day." She had heard much about this very anticipated day, and she fully intended to be in on whatever the heck soccah day was. :goodvibes

Warming up causes a thirst, and a thirst needs blue gatorade.

Yay, Bella gets to pay soccah day!

008.jpg

Carter's game was finishing up, so their family came over to watch Brooklynn for a few minutes.

009.jpg

There were a few tears when Carter and Presley had to leave and Brooklynn, out on the field, didn't get to say a proper goodbye. :upsidedow

They needed a team name. All the girls shouted out an animal. The one heard the best was 'dolphin', so for Saturday, they were the Purple Dolphins. :thumbsup2

Brooklynn really didn't get that you were allowed to take the ball away from the other team, so at first, she sort of just followed them around.

014.jpg

During a break, I told her I'd give her a quarter to chase the ball and kick it. She does just about anything for a quarter to put in her bank. ;)

She got the hang of it after she kicked it the first time, and she did just fine the rest of the game.

017.jpg

At the end of the game, in which the Dolphins were thoroughly smashed by the Bluejays, or whatever they were, the girls shook hands,

021.jpg

and had a big time running through the tunnel that the parents made.

024.jpg

Brooklynn had no clue of any kind of score and was very sure that they had won the game. She was happy with her snack and her friends, and she was glad to get the shinguards off.

I was very happy that her shinguards smelled nothing like Trent's when he used to take his off. They could truly knock you over. :scared1:

It was a fun day. It's nice that the girls are getting experience in team work and cooperation at such a young age.

Totally unrelated to soccer, I finally got around to taking a picture of my AKL print.

This is the one Trent and Tanya liked best.

025.jpg

I am very happy with it. :)
What do you guys think?
I still have to get a frame for it next time I am out.

I love Animal Kingdom. And I'm realizing now that I didn't make a whole lot of plans for that park on the next trip...I'll have to fix that! And I think I want to take one of the tours there too! :) Bella really looks like Brooklyn in that picture of her in bed in the morning! Very cute! I love those wild child outfits! A safari birthday certainly sounds like fun! There is a ton of stuff you could do for that! And it would appeal to both genders too! :)

True. That's what Jill and I thought - the boys wouldn't care a thing about Rapunzel. There are so many great ideas for a safari party. We're hoping Brooklynn will be happy with the thought that she gets two parties with two themes - Rapunzel stuff for her school birthday treats and the animals she loves so much with her friends party at home. This is still several months away, though, so she may change her mind several times on what she wants. In the end, she won't really care, and it will all be fun.

It must have been so cute to watch the little kids play soccer :cutie:

I love AK. I wish they closed later than 5 because I never get to see everything there in just a day. It's definitely not a half day park in my eyes, either.

It was. Of the five girls, only one had played. Two of the girls (identical twins) were the youngest of six girls, so they had seen older sisters play and sort of knew what to do. One of them even scored a goal! :cheer2:

Jill said she would try to load pictures tonight, so hopefully we'll get to see the few animals that were out and about. She reminded me that we nicknamed our driver Monotone Mike. He was very unenthusiastic about his role as safari driver. If that safari trip was anyone's only one, having few animals and Monotone Mike as their guide, they certainly did not get a very good experience.

Cute "soccha" pics!!:thumbsup2 That's too funny that Brooklynn wanted the shin pads off. I hear ya about the smelly shin pads. I deal with that year round. I tell Cody not to open his gym bag in the car:eek::laughing:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your new print!!!

I LOVE the print! Is it going into your newly remodeled bathroom?
YAY for soccah day! My kids never got into playing soccer, so I can't sympathize with smelly shin guards. However, my son plays football and basketball, and if Trent's shin guards smelled anything like my son's socks/cleats then I TOTALLY get it!!! :rotfl:

I definitely thought of you when I saw those things. I gotta tell ya, I think some of them are pretty weird looking!

Early mornings are nice for getting pictures of things you want with no people in them. ::yes:: I'll be excited when you are in the planning stages again, too.

I agree that someone of them are pretty weird looking! That's okay with me, though, because it makes it a lot easier for me to say no to buying some.

I have a feeling that sometime after my parents' early anniversary trip to Scotland in July, we might start planning a Disney trip. They've been planning this trip out for at least a year and they might need something else to plan to help them get over the depression when they get back. :rolleyes1 My mom was just saying a little while ago how much she wants to go back. Kailyn is leaving on Thursday!

I love your AK print! They did such a good job picking it out!

Brooklynn looks so grown up. Please tell her to stop growing. All our DIS babies need to stay babies.:cutie: So glad she liked playing "soccah" and it looks like they had a good time.

I love the AK print. They did a good job picking it out. I love, love, love the Animal Kingdom. We were talking about it today and I said I think I could go there everyday of our trip.

Thanks for the Fantasmic! photos and videos! Juju has decided she wants to see it for the first time on our next trip, and after skipping it last time, I'm so excited to see it again!

She's a paci girl. Jill is breaking from her it little by little, but Bella is pretty fond of it.

I'll take the paci over sucking fingers any day! My daughter sucked 2 of her fingers....that was tough since you can't really take them away. My son on the other hand had a "binky" much less stressful....on him and me.

The soccer looks like fun! We always called it bunch ball when the kids played when they were little...
Brook does look like such a big girl out there on the field!

Love the purple uniforms, very cute!!!
I might need to have Megan make her a special bow for that uniform...:goodvibes

I love the girls little purple tie-dyed "soccah" shirts! Very cute! :) I didn't last very long with soccer...I used to sit in the field and pick dandelions. Money is always a good bribe though! ;)

I love the AK print!! Trent and Tanya made a good choice! I think it will look lovely! :)

Loved to see the Purple Dolphins in action! Soccer is my favorite sport.:yay: I may or may not have had many years of of stinky shin guards and soccer shoes myself... :upsidedow

The AKL print is absolutely beautiful, I think they made a wonderful choice!

I absolutely love AK too! I wouldn't want to try and see it all in a half day.

Memom, all caught up. Fantasmic, do love it. Going to DL next summer, can't wait to see it there with the dragon.

AK, love love that park. Such great photo opportunities.

Soccer is so cute.....

Looking forward to more.

As always, thank you.

KIM

AK is usually our first park & it's always a very full day, starting with the safari. The first time I rode it, I cried much of the way through, because it reminded me so intensely of West Africa, where I was a Peace Corps volunteer. Of all the amazing details in Disney's re-created savannahs, what touched me most was the baobabs. I couldn't believe my eyes: Baobabs in the States! They made me so homesick. Goodness, I'm such a softie, I'm tearing up now just remembering.

Pop in the morning is so much more fun than my house first thing in the morning. Not to mention the prospect of heading off to the AK dressed in adorable zebra print shorts is way better than putting on a pair of dress shoes and heading off to the classroom. (You wouldn't know I just had spring break with my attitude this morning, would you?)

Brooklyn's soccer pictures are adorable!!! It doesn't seem like ten years ago that Chelsea was doing that for the first time. Chelsea never had a uniform as cute as Brooklyn's though. :goodvibes

What a great soccah day! I can't wait until my DS is old enough to play. Glad Brooklynn had a good time.

Love, Love, Love the AKL print!

Love the AK print! It will be perfect! :thumbsup2

Go purple Dolphins!!!:cheer2:
Brooklynn will have so much fun playing soccer.
Bella will get her turn....to have her own "socca day". :cutie:

I notice the little girl wearing the Auburn Tigers cheerleader outfit...I always thought Lexi would have one of those.

I'm sure you will come up with all kinds of very cool & creative ideas for the safari birthday. Can't wait to see it! :)

I think I need to have that Disney bag you had in the POP shopping pics! LOVE IT! :woohoo:

I'm glad to hear the summer trip is still on even if it's shortened.
You are gonna love 'Ohana!
Are you planning to watch the fireworks from the Poly beach after? :goodvibes

Soccah day looked like lots of fun! Tanya and Trent did a great job picking out the AK print. I was in Walmart on Sunday and saw your shower curtain. It's very nice!

Isn't it fun when children first play soccer? There is no worry about winning or losing---they are just having fun. Brooklyn looks like she is having a ball! Love the uniforms!

Bella looked like she was having a great time at it too!!!
