Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

I love the pics of the "Soccah Day"!! I have fond memories of being like Bella on the sidelines, while the sibling is out on the field. At first I didn't get it either...lol. I LOVE your AKL picture...I'm saving money for some souvenirs like that, as I plan on moving south in another year, which means furnishing an apartment of my own!
Can't wait to hear more of your awesome stories!! Hope your having a magnificent Tuesday at school!!

As always, Love the updates! I remember when I was younger and both me and my little brother played soccah :goodvibes The first game is always the hardest :) Love the girls outfits for AK! AK isn't my favorite park, MK is, but I still love it! Killiminjaro Safari is always my first ride also at AK! I think I NEED that bag that you took a picture of at pop! I agree with you on the hats. I don't like them...but someone does! Love the AK print! When I stayed at the AKL we bought this print, and it is sitting above my bed!

How great that Brookie is getting involved in soccer. We live in small town MN so they don't offer soccer around here. Bummer because it looks like lots of fun! :) I'm glad she enjoyed herself. That's all that counts!

Great update. Brooklyn is so cute playing soccer. Cooper has started golf and he is so adorable swinging his clubs. I am going to start him in another sport also in the fall. Love the girls' outfits. How cute! A day at AK is always wonderful. I am glad the July trip is still on. You need your summer Disney fix!!

Cute "soccha" pics!! That's too funny that Brooklynn wanted the shin pads off. I hear ya about the smelly shin pads. I deal with that year round. I tell Cody not to open his gym bag in the car.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your new print!!!

I've been around gyms, locker rooms, and ball fields for many, many years, and the soccer shinguards were the clear winner of the 'Peeeee-yeewwww Skunk Award'. ::crazy2::

I LOVE the print! Is it going into your newly remodeled bathroom?
YAY for soccah day! My kids never got into playing soccer, so I can't sympathize with smelly shin guards. However, my son plays football and basketball, and if Trent's shin guards smelled anything like my son's socks/cleats then I TOTALLY get it!!!

Yes, as soon as I get a frame, the print will hang in the AKL bathroom. :) Of course, the ball caps and Popular Mechanics magazines in there kind of take away from the ambience. :upsidedow

Don't we love our wonderful, smelly boys?

Love it.

Looks like the girls like soccer. My DD was older when she played but it somehow looked the same.:upsidedow

What hobbies or sports does your daughter participate in now?

I'm sure Brooklynn will get the hang of things after a couple of games. She was cute and a little prissy out there, but she'll learn to take the ball and go in time. :thumbsup2

I agree that someone of them are pretty weird looking! That's okay with me, though, because it makes it a lot easier for me to say no to buying some.

I have a feeling that sometime after my parents' early anniversary trip to Scotland in July, we might start planning a Disney trip. They've been planning this trip out for at least a year and they might need something else to plan to help them get over the depression when they get back. My mom was just saying a little while ago how much she wants to go back. Kailyn is leaving on Thursday!

I love your AK print! They did such a good job picking it out!

We get to start getting live updates on Thursday! :dance3: Does she know she's going for the DIS crowd?

Brooklynn looks so grown up. Please tell her to stop growing. All our DIS babies need to stay babies. So glad she liked playing "soccah" and it looks like they had a good time.

I love the AK print. They did a good job picking it out. I love, love, love the Animal Kingdom. We were talking about it today and I said I think I could go there everyday of our trip.

Brooklynn looked more grown in the pictures than she did in real life. I noticed the difference when I looked at the pictures, and Trent said the same thing when I showed them to him.

Maybe we'll have to have a huge AK meet sometime, then. :cool2:

Thanks for the Fantasmic! photos and videos! Juju has decided she wants to see it for the first time on our next trip, and after skipping it last time, I'm so excited to see it again!

Yay for her deciding she wants to see it. Maybe you can youtube it to be sure she knows what to expect.

I'll take the paci over sucking fingers any day! My daughter sucked 2 of her fingers....that was tough since you can't really take them away. My son on the other hand had a "binky" much less stressful....on him and me.

Drew was a thumb sucker, but he just outgrew it on his own.
Bella is pretty much just taking hers now when it's bedtime or when she's sleepy and off-schedule out somewhere.

The soccer looks like fun! We always called it bunch ball when the kids played when they were little...
Brook does look like such a big girl out there on the field!

Love the purple uniforms, very cute!!!
I might need to have Megan make her a special bow for that uniform...

Since there were only three girls from each team on the field at once, there were no major pile-ups.

Jill tie-dyed the shirts. I'm sure she had no clue they were going to be the Purple Dolphins. :goodvibes

Why is lunch time the shortest 30 minutes of the day???
More later.

The sleepy picture of Bella is so sweet. The girls were really rocking those zebra shirts too. And of course AK was the perfect place to show them off. Ak is a 2 day park for us. When we're short of time it gets 1 1/2 days. I normally have to drag Dennis out of it, it's his favorite.:lovestruc

Thanks for sharing the soccer pictures. It brings back so many memories. All three kids played when they were little. They didn't stick with it but still had fun. I got a kick out of you paying Brooklynn to kick the ball. When Brent my oldest played flag football Dennis use to give him $1 for every flag he pulled. He was small, fast and accurate.

I'm heading back to work from lunch right now too. :sad2:

I love the girls little purple tie-dyed "soccah" shirts! Very cute! I didn't last very long with soccer...I used to sit in the field and pick dandelions. Money is always a good bribe though!

I love the AK print!! Trent and Tanya made a good choice! I think it will look lovely!

Well, I figured a quarter to get her started wasn't too evil. In middle school, one of the kids on Trent's team got a dollar a point for whatever he scored. Needless to say, he was a bit of a ball hog!

Love the AK Print and the soccah pictures are so cute!

Thanks. Always glad to see you get the chance to peek in. :goodvibes

Loved to see the Purple Dolphins in action! Soccer is my favorite sport. I may or may not have had many years of of stinky shin guards and soccer shoes myself...

The AKL print is absolutely beautiful, I think they made a wonderful choice!

I absolutely love AK too! I wouldn't want to try and see it all in a half day.

I can see you being a soccer player. I bet you were good.

Are you in on the future/someday/there's gonna be an AK meet? :)

Memom, all caught up. Fantasmic, do love it. Going to DL next summer, can't wait to see it there with the dragon.

AK, love love that park. Such great photo opportunities.

Soccer is so cute.....

Looking forward to more.

As always, thank you.

KIM

Fantasmic is worth the wait, I think. It is harder to stay with the little ones, though.

I'll try to get more AK up tonight.

AK is usually our first park & it's always a very full day, starting with the safari. The first time I rode it, I cried much of the way through, because it reminded me so intensely of West Africa, where I was a Peace Corps volunteer. Of all the amazing details in Disney's re-created savannahs, what touched me most was the baobabs. I couldn't believe my eyes: Baobabs in the States! They made me so homesick. Goodness, I'm such a softie, I'm tearing up now just remembering.

What a great experience you must have had! I wish I had done something like that when I was young.

Pop in the morning is so much more fun than my house first thing in the morning. Not to mention the prospect of heading off to the AK dressed in adorable zebra print shorts is way better than putting on a pair of dress shoes and heading off to the classroom. (You wouldn't know I just had spring break with my attitude this morning, would you?)

Brooklyn's soccer pictures are adorable!!! It doesn't seem like ten years ago that Chelsea was doing that for the first time. Chelsea never had a uniform as cute as Brooklyn's though.

At least we just have only a little time left I think we have 7 1/2 weeks now.

Soccer is too much fun, isn't it? :thumbsup2

Yay for Brooklyn playing soccer!!!! How does she like it? My DD plays also and she (and we) love it! I think it is a great sport for little ones b/c the rules are very simple and all the kids are involved in the game the whole time. No waiting around to bat or standing in the outfield forever waiting on a ball to fly your way. I really hope Brooklyn enjoys it! It is so good for kids to get involved in sports or something active to keep them healthy, and it's great for them socially too. They learn soooo much about life and relationships that way. And I had to laugh about you bribing her with a quarter! We do the same thing! Great minds think alike! :rotfl: My DD was doing just like Brooklyn, just sort of running around the perimeter of the action, not wanting to "take the ball away from her friends". I could tell that she really wanted to get in there and play hard like the other kids though, but she is pretty shy. The money bribe works like a charm though, and she has really come out of her shell ;) She has a jar at home labeled "*****'s Disney Fund" and that's where all her soccer money goes! Hey, whatever works, right! Keep us posted on Brooklyn's progress this season. I bet you will see a huge difference in her by the last game! :thumbsup2

Aww Brooklynn looks like such a big girl on the soccer field! Bella looks like a player in the making, too ;)

What a great soccah day! I can't wait until my DS is old enough to play. Glad Brooklynn had a good time.

Love, Love, Love the AKL print!

I got a $3.00 frame and hung it up. :thumbsup2
It looks good.

Love the AK print! It will be perfect!
Go purple Dolphins!!!
Brooklynn will have so much fun playing soccer.
Bella will get her turn....to have her own "socca day".

I notice the little girl wearing the Auburn Tigers cheerleader outfit...I always thought Lexi would have one of those.

I'm sure you will come up with all kinds of very cool & creative ideas for the safari birthday. Can't wait to see it!

I think I need to have that Disney bag you had in the POP shopping pics! LOVE IT!

I'm glad to hear the summer trip is still on even if it's shortened.
You are gonna love 'Ohana!
Are you planning to watch the fireworks from the Poly beach after?

We are looking very forward to 'Ohana and fireworks afterward. :beach:

Do you think you'll ever find your way back to Alabama?

Soccah day looked like lots of fun! Tanya and Trent did a great job picking out the AK print. I was in Walmart on Sunday and saw your shower curtain. It's very nice!

The shower curtain looks better in person than in pictures, doesn't it?

Isn't it fun when children first play soccer? There is no worry about winning or losing---they are just having fun. Brooklyn looks like she is having a ball! Love the uniforms!

Bella looked like she was having a great time at it too!!!

Brooklynn didn't have a clue that the other team scored about five times to our one.

Bella was enjoying being outside. I went a little ways away from the field and kicked the ball with her a little and let her run around during part of the game.

I have to be particular about my souvenirs, so I think about them for a good while before I make a purchase. I like cheap and practical things, quite often. ;)

As always, Love the updates! I remember when I was younger and both me and my little brother played soccah The first game is always the hardest Love the girls outfits for AK!

Nice print. I can see them and easily picture the real deal. I'd like to be down there watching the flamingos squawking around over there near the pool. :cool2:

How great that Brookie is getting involved in soccer. We live in small town MN so they don't offer soccer around here. Bummer because it looks like lots of fun! I'm glad she enjoyed herself. That's all that counts!

Soccer is a great game. Lots of kids can play at one time, since there are eleven on a regular team. It's such a great team game, too. I'm surprised you don't have soccer. I thought it had made its way everywhere by now.

I do need my Disney fix. I keep crunching the numbers. Trent knows a guy who is like a manager or owner or something of Monkey Joe's. I told him to ask him if there are any jobs available. I could do something like that for Disney money.

You'll have to show us a picture of your little golfer guy. :thumbsup2

I love love love that bag! I need to stop buying handbags though, particularly ones at Disney! But this is oh so tempting!

That's pretty much how I look around any sort of sports. Actually no, Bella looks much more knowledgeable than I ever could.
Great updates!

Not a sports person, huh? We've grown up around all kinds of sports, so it is natural for us. I played volleyball, softball, and basketball, and my kids have played many sports. I know nothing about music or ballet or art or those things, so I would be the one with the puzzled look in those areas.

The sleepy picture of Bella is so sweet. The girls were really rocking those zebra shirts too. And of course AK was the perfect place to show them off. Ak is a 2 day park for us. When we're short of time it gets 1 1/2 days. I normally have to drag Dennis out of it, it's his favorite.

I'm heading back to work from lunch right now too.

I think the clock speeds up as soon as it sees us leave the classroom to go toward the cafeteria. :headache:

I just wanted to give Brooklynn a little incentive to get started. It gave her the motivation to at least go toward the ball. She was very happy with her quarter.

We like soccer better than baseball or softball, because you are always moving, and like you said - no standing around waiting for some action. People who love baseball love it, but we were never big baseball people.

Aww Brooklynn looks like such a big girl on the soccer field! Bella looks like a player in the making, too

I'm guessing that Bella will be a natural.

What hobbies or sports does your daughter participate in now?

[/COLOR][/B]

DD did gymnastics, swimming, soccer and taekwon do. Being all grown she now plays docter- she is an EMT and likes hawking.

DS also did gymnastics, and swimming. Gave both of those up but he did get his Lifeguard certification so I am glad I made him learn how to swim. ;)

Brooklynn looks like a natural on the "soccah" field! I love the purple uniforms, the leagues here never had uniforms so cute! :thumbsup2

I don't think Alabama is in my future....if were to move down South again it would be to Florida. ;)

There is trip news...we decided to change our cruise to January...after the NYE bash!

I will probably book the 4 day cruise instead of the 3.

There were alot of factors that went into making this decision today. ;)

We are still going to WDW in September. :thumbsup2

I spent the afternoon trying to decide whether or not to add more Disney park days to the fall trip.

Thanks for the Fantasmic pics, and it looks like you guys had a great time at AK! These pics are really killing me because we'll be in Disney one month from today and I starting to get really antsy. I want the time to fly, but then slow to a crawl for our vacation week. I'm sure you all understand the feeling! :goodvibes

I have a new fancy smartphone so I'll be posting updates and photos from the parks if anyone would like to follow along on twitter or facebook.

It looks like Brooklyn was having a great time playing soccer! My DH can't wait to get Everett started. He played soccer in college and was apparently pretty good. He's had Everett kicking little soccer balls around the house since he took his first steps. Apparently he has even found a baby soccer league and is going to sign him up for the summer. I'm totally on board because it will A. give me a hour break on Saturday mornings and B. running around a field for an hour will lead to an extra tired toddler and a super afternoon nap. I don't care what he "learns" or does, those two facts alone make the program a winner in my book!

We get to start getting live updates on Thursday! :dance3: Does she know she's going for the DIS crowd?

Nope, haven't told her that yet  I will definitely post whatever she sends me here for everyone! I need to go back and see what it is that I was gonna have her look for for someone on here. I meant to write it down, then I forgot, of course. She's also going to look for something for a friend of ours from work -- she went to Disney in January and got a pair of Mickey earrings that she wore every day, then she lost one of them down the drain when she was at school. Kailyn asked me to hold on to the envelope with the money and the one remaining Mickey earring, so I'm going to go back, write down the other thing, and put it in the envelope so it's all in one place for her. I got a text from her yesterday saying that she made a packing list; our mom told her to text me that and let me know b/c I'd be proud. :rotfl:

Why is lunch time the shortest 30 minutes of the day???
More later.

So true! My teaching assistant and I say this about daily!

Thanks for sharing the soccer pictures! Love it! Team work is a great thing to learn at such a young age! :thumbsup2

Love the print!:simba:

Mine got even shorter, two weeks ago I offered to sponsor walking club over my lunch time so I take 15 minutes to eat then gather up the 2nd and 3rd graders that want to walk and we head off for 20 minutes....
Some days I have thirty, some days I have sixty trailing behind me. It's really nice company!:goodvibes
