Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

I thought the same thing! You know I hate mice, but that little fellow all laid out on the table was almost downright cute. :lmao: Probably because I assume that since he is a Disney mouse he must have better manners. :rotfl:

It's easier to tolerate a Disney mouse, I do believe. They are a higher class of mouse, surely. ;)

How cute is Bella being bribed with raisins! Well, most of the time, that is... I can't say I blame her too much, Rafiki is a bit more intimidating-looking than Pocahontas!

She is pretty decisive about which Disney friends she will visit.

Bella sure doesn't like those monkeys, does she? ;)

Hope you feel better soon. I take Zyrtec for my seasonal allergies and it's a lifesaver. Even though I haven't had any symptoms yet I'm taking a half a pill every day just to prepare myself for the allergy season. Our trees literally bloomed overnight here.

She does not. I'm sure she will grow to love them in time. :goodvibes We'll probably tease her about her fears when she's older, and she probably won't believe us. Good thing I have the evidence. :thumbsup2

Hope you feel better! I'm skipping my class today, partly for a mental health day and partly because my allergies are getting really bad and since I don't have anything due and my group presentation is done, I can do so without feeling massively guilty. ;)

Kailyn is at DHS today and I texted her to keep an eye out for those skirts. And, this is not definite, but we're looking at possibly going back to Disney in January 2012! It would be after New Years and before MLK weekend, so that it wouldn't interfere with Kailyn and I going back to school for the spring semester. Like I said, it's not definite, but my mom said that she wants to plan a trip, so I'm really excited!

Mental health days are extremely important. ::yes::

A possible trip is something to be excited about! :cheer2: I hope it comes through for you.

Glad you got a good nights rest.

I can only hope it is just the Oak pollen finally getting to me. i need to break out the bigger guns and stay ahead of this or I will be in bed for a couple of days.

Benadryl at night helps me sleep and helps the Claritin do its job.

I definitely feel better now. I don't feel so lifeless, and the headache has subsided for the moment. The sun is shining outside, so that alone makes a person feel a little brighter.

I love the pictures from AK! It has inspired me to take Everett to the National Zoo tomorrow. Its supposed to warm and sunny, and I did want to get over there before tourist season is in full swing.

I have never been over to Rafiki's early enough to see a procedure, one of these days I'll do it! :thumbsup2 It looks like a very cool thing to see!

Glad to hear you're feeling better!

Ok, when I make those faces on Dinosaur, they are for real!:scared1: Even though I know exactly when, where, why, and how that darn dino is coming at me, it still scares me silly everytime! My BFF always makes fun of me singing "you're scared of audioanimatronic dinosaurs!" It always gets me!

I love watching those check-ups and such, they're so fascinating! And I love Bella's pack of raisin bribe! Too funny!

DisneyJoo2008 - Congratulations on your big news!:goodvibes That is very exciting!

CanadianWDWFan - I love all of your NYC pics! I have GOT to see that Disney store some day!

Disney store in Carmel, IN was pretty disappointing...I only came home with an Alice purse clip that was on clearance for $4! And the re-useable Rapunzel bag!

I really need to make sure I don't take a week off of TRs! Glad you are better.

Thank you for teaching the little ones. It stinks for the other kids in your class and for you to have those boys. Bless you for helping them. I struggle with the same problem at the higher end. Is it fair to my kids who behave to have to deal with the behaviors of the others? UGH!

I tell people who ask how I can teach teenagers that it is because they have come through the other side. Some of the little ones in our district have such terrible lives. It is much easier for me to cope with knowing that a 16 year old has to go home to a bad home than a 6 year old.

I love your positive spirit! I think that it is too hard sometimes for nonteachers to understand how important breaks are to rejuvenate teachers.

Most importantly, our Disney visits REALLY help!

MeMom

Looking at the storms - yup me and Jackie I am sure :lmao: but i hope you come out Ok.

Here we go again for tomorrow!! Let's hope the mountains help us again keeping the storm calm as it passes us and hopefully those hit hard on the eastern side of NC do not get a repeat of lst saturday. They do not need that.

Hope you continue to feel better MeMom!

So happy you are staying safe next to the mountains Pat!

So happy you are staying safe next to the mountains Pat!

Funny, our weatherman said the same thing about the mountains tonight. I figured out the mountain thing a few years ago but never heard the weathermen say it.

Right now the models show it dying down a bit but Atlanta may get some bad stuff :scared1: Jackie be careful and you get out of the weather, I will watch for you.

So glad you are feeling better, MeMom!

Yes, Pat, I am keeping a weather eye out today...Unfortunately, we are in the middle of CRCT testing which means I will be in the hallway as a test administrator for most of the morning, and then, I will be in my room with the computer off this afternoon giving make-ups! Do you know how much that panics me that I will not be anywhere near my weather sites??? Oh, well. Let's hope for the best. If we have a warning during the actual testing, that is going to be an absolute mess. I won't even think about that. :sad2:

We are hoping our rain clears out so that we can get to the Nashville Zoo today. The kids will be really disappointed if it falls through.

It is very interesting to watch the medical procedures. I hope you do get to see one.

Then you are one of the people I am laughing at.

Jill is really pumped up for a good Disney Store visit in Louisville Saturday, so I hope she finds some good stuff. Since we have to travel over two hours to get to one now, I hope she finds some good deals for her efforts.

I really need to make sure I don't take a week off of TRs! Glad you are better.

Sometimes my co-teacher and I talk about these kids' sad lives, and we both end up with tears in our eyes, because some of them never really even have a chance at a good life. That's why, in spite of all of the frustrations and aggravations they bring, we have to reach deep inside and continue to be the positive, moral role models some of them so desparately need with a smile on our faces and keeping our grumblings to ourselves.

I applaud you for working with the teenagers. I think the hardest group to work with is probably the middle school group. They are all over the map in terms of their maturity, and the hormones are in overdrive.

I really do treasure my fall and spring breaks. I especially look forward to the spring breaks, for some reason. I think they signify that we can almost touch the end of the school year, and that does recharge me.

The headache has pretty much gone away. My eyeballs are popping out of my head now instead. It's definitely sinuses. ;)

I hope our stuff moves out within the next few hours. We're scheduled to go to the zoo at about 9.

Out in the middle of the room, between where the characters are and where the medical procedures are done, CM's come out with animals for kids to see and touch.

This was the fella that was out when we were there.

IMG_1149.jpg

A group gathered around to listen to the CM talk.

IMG_1151.jpg

As you may have noticed, Brooklynn was a little unsure about things at first.

Would she warm up to the little guy and touch when the CM offered?

IMG_1152.jpg

Would Bella touch?

IMG_1153.jpg

After we were finished inside, we went out to one of Brooklynn's favorite areas.

IMG_1154.jpg

She is not a bit unsure here.

IMG_1155.jpg

I think she could stay here for an hour just brushing the goats.

IMG_1156.jpg

Bubby and Bella saw the goats, too.

Browsing through the gift shop.

That's it for now. Have a great and safe day today, DIS friends! I hope to be back later today after having had a wonderful day at the zoo. Keep your fingers crossed. :goodvibes

I remember this was one of the few places that we could find children's books. My DD LOVES books and that was what she wanted to spend her souvenir money on, but they were pretty hard to find in the parks. We found some there and in England and that was about it.

We didn't get to see any of the animal demos or surgeries when we were back there either. That would have been nice. It was really deserted when we were there and we kind of felt like it was a waste of too much time. :confused3 You had much better luck!

:sunny::sunny::sunny: Wishing everyone sunny skies today!!! :sunny::sunny::sunny:

We are having a windy, freezing raiin morning with showers the rest of the day...:umbrella:

Some areas even got snow! So crazy!

I hope you get to the Zoo today! :goodvibes
Are you able to reshedule?

Very excitting to have the Disney Store visit in a few days! :thumbsup2
I hope BrooklynnsMommy finds all kinds of things to fill her bags! :woohoo:

Maybe this will make you smile?

For any of the "angry Mickey fans"....I much prefer a happy smiling Mickey.
100_0276.jpg

I wanted this until I saw the price tag! Over $300! It really was a very nice bag!
100_0275.jpg

These are expensive little trinkets....for the more refined Disney fan!
100_0271.jpg

100_0272.jpg

100_0273.jpg

Love these! I regret not picking this up.
100_0269.jpg

Sorry...warning! Close your eyes Memom! ;)

Jackie - I got your back. Right now it look like rain- heavy rain but most of the bad stuff is gone.

MeMom- looks like your zoo trip is on!!! :cool1:

There is a portion of the storm trying to sneak around the mountains and I hope all my sunshine right now is not going to mean trouble later. :rain:

The headache has pretty much gone away. My eyeballs are popping out of my head now instead. It's definitely sinuses. ;)

Ah yes the Zyrtec does that to me too- that's why I take Claritin.
Hot showers to ease the sinus issues help. That or Sudafed.

Bubby and Bella saw the goats, too.

IMG_1157.jpg

Bella looks comfy up there.

Then it was time to go.

IMG_1162.jpg

Coooommmmeeee Onnnnnn MeMom.

On the train.

IMG_1163.jpg

How Sweet.

Love those eyelashes :rotfl:

Hey MeMom, great pictures of AK, Brooklynn looks like she loves petting the goats.
Have fun at the zoo today! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! I hope all the icky weather clears up!! Not fun!!

We had snow yesterday....yes, you read that right. It's all gone today but we had those in-between days temperature wise where it was just cold enough to come as sleet - snow vs rain. Today should be a bit warmer - I hope!!! :)

I am getting all caught up! So glad you posted the times for the surgeries/check ups at Rafiki's. I want to take Jeremy to see one this year and will definitely make it over mid-morning. :thumbsup2

How cute that Bella would meet Pochahantas! She was too cute on the train ride.

It looks like you had a great time at Rafiki's!

Sure hope you get to the zoo today. The storms came through here (Ohio) late last night. Not too much damage at home but we have a lot of power outages here at work. Jeremy goes on his class field trip at the end of May and it is to the Cincy Zoo.

Glad to hear you are feeling better!

I love the picture of Bella on the train. We have never been to that part of Animal Kingdom. Maybe one day.

I like that they really get guests involved, watching the surgery or petting an animal. :) My kiddos had a lot of fun too, brushing the goats. We made sure to wash our hands really well afterwards though. lol! ;) Have a good day at the zoo MeMom!
