Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Glad that your weather held up for your zoo day, we go next month on the 6th.
I was looking at taking a college hour this summer for re-certification and found one being offered at our zoo. It's an overnight stay at the Gorilla exhibit. I think it sounds fascinating! You bring a sack dinner, pillow and sleeping bag. They are also offering one at the Tiger exhibit a few weeks later. We'll see if I can get into either one...

The picture of Bella on the train is just precious and I love the one of Brook looking back to see if you are coming. :goodvibes

Baylor played baseball in a cold yucky mist tonight. We won. Tell Trent that Baylor had an in the park home run, right over the pitchers head clear out to the fence. That kid, ran like the wind around those bases and slid into home!

Brooklynn does not look very happy with her pail of food. She seems a little disappointed.

I was thinking the same thing! She looks like she's thinking "YOU are my lunch? A hot dog? I guess that's life...":rotfl: I'm sure she thought it was delicious!

I haven't eaten at Restaurantosaurus since they used to have the character breakfast there before it moved to Tusker House! I'd forgotten how cute the theming was!:thumbsup2 I'll have to remember to try it again! And I've never been in the dig site. I'm sure someday when I'm there with children I'll check it out.:goodvibes It's seems kinda off to me that the prizes you win at the chester and hester games aren't Disney-themed:confused3 I never really noticed before....

Those zoo overnighters sound amazing! I'd do either one in a heartbeat, and I don't need certification.

Baylor and his team seems to thrive in rotten weather. Hard on spectators, for sure, but apparently good luck for them.

MeMom, I Love the Boneyard. Such an engaging & safe place for kids to play while parents rest or play along. Brooklyn obviously ate it up! When DD was Brooklyn's age, she could spend hours there. I'd dig & run & slide & climb with her for a good while. Watching us always wore out poor DH, so he was happy to stay & rest, supervising from a shady bench, while I went off to a show or a ride.

Brooklyn did look a tad disappointed in her lunch. For some reason I always seem to end up at Pizzafari for lunch but Restaurantosaurus looks like fun too! I really have to spend more time in AK. So many things I haven't seen... including the Nemo musical!

Wigd - Way to go to Baylor for that homerun! :cool1:

Morning, it's Good Friday! :goodvibes

Very neat that the meal at Restaurantosarus comes in a pail! :thumbsup2

I've never seen inside that place before. Looks like they did a great job of theming.

Bella and Brooklynn look so cute in those outfits playing away! I know I've said it before but I just think they are just darling!

I don't know how we missed the Dig Site when Lexi was small....probably because I was too busy rushing us through comando style..

So glad we don't tour that way anymore! I've learned to slow down and enjoy all of it.

I think on those trips way back when I was unsure if we would be able to afford to come back each year so I tried to pack it all in.

I feel so blessed that we have been able to go as much as we have and we can now stay on longer trips.

My DMom still makes jokes that I have moments of that "comando girl" sometimes...:rotfl:

I hope this weekend works out and you can do everything you want to.

It must be so wonderful to be able to include Trent & Tanya in all of your plans now, without the hasstle of travel.

We are going to the States today for some shopping. (Gotta love it when the US stores are open when we are closed here! ;))

I bought tickets to see HOP on Sunday and African Cats on Tuesday night.
Lexi is hoping the Easter bunny brings her the Build a Bear E.B. Bunny....she thinks it is sold out here and that's why we didn't go get it. :rolleyes1

:wizard:....for a beautiful and sunny day tomorrow for your zoo/Disney Store trip.

While you are enjoying the animals tomorrow I will be at work with the crazy last minute Easter shoppers....:cool1:

Happy Friday morning MeMom. Have a great day at home.

I also love the pic of Bella on the train:cutie:. And the pic of Brooklynn with her lunch made me laugh. She looked a little upset with her hotdog.

Way to go Baylor!!

I thought Brooklyn's expression looked very disappointed too. That is the expression Cooper gets most nights at dinner. He is so thin that I have to negotiate with him how much he eats. I refuse to feed him different than what we are eating, but it is drama most nights. I told Jason that he will be a lawyer or high-profile businessman because he can negotiate with the best of them.:rotfl:
I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend. I am cooking my first Easter dinner. We usually go home, but with my Dad so ill, my mom does not feel like cooking. I am going to color eggs with the boys, hunt them tomorrow and Sunday and go to church. Hope you have a great time. BTW, I don't know if you thought of it, but Knoxville has a great zoo and we have a Disney Store still. Just a thought for future plans.:thumbsup2 Also, Pigeon Forge has a Disney outlet.

Before Meg told me about this, I was already plotting I'm planning on getting a job this summer, and I already asked my mom about this and she said if I can help pay for it, we can probably go next year. I'm definitely gonna be saving my paychecks. It's perfect motivation for me And we already decided that if we go next year it'll be the same week as Meg. I don't really want to go during spring break or the summer, and my spring semester next year doesn't start until somewhere around Jan 20. I have this all planned out I texted Meg something like "Is it ridiculous that I'm getting all excited about a hypothetical Disney trip that may be possible because of a job that I don't have yet?"

As long as the weather is good next Saturday! There can't be rain for my birthday Sox game and DIS meet

I hope the weather is perfect for your ballgame and DIS meet.

I'm excited about an October trip that may or may not happen, so I don't think you are a bit ridiculous. :)

I know I have missed a few updates but I have been reading one of your old TR's and now i'm confused as to what to comment on. So i'll just comment on the latest update.

Brooklynn does not look very happy with her pail of food. She seems a little disappointed.

I am a mean mommy and didn't take Creighton into the dig site.

You'll have to fill us in on where you are at on an old trip report.

Actually, Brooklynn was just looking down at Bella, not at the food. You can barely see Bella's head in the stroller by the table.

Maybe Creighton can enjoy digging next time. If it makes you feel better, it is not sand - it is tiny, tiny, tiny little rocks that just fall right off. It's not messy and doesn't stick around like sand.

I just texted Trent about the homerun. I'm sure that will make him smile.

What a cool way to get credit. I wish we could do that. I took two boring online classes to re-certify. I'd much rather go to the zoo!

She liked it just fine. She was just looking down at Bella.

We used to always go to Pizzafari and Flame Tree, but this has become a new favorite. The burgers are really good, and there is a nice fixins' bar.

I think they are just staying true to the theme of the Dino-Rama story with the prizes.

Yes, this is a great place for little ones to run off some steam and not have to have a hand held or be in a stroller or stand in a line. I have come to appreciate it for all of that, because I have seem how much our girls and our little boy cousins really love it. It's a must-do for us now.

Brooklyn did look a tad disappointed in her lunch. For some reason I always seem to end up at Pizzafari for lunch but Restaurantosaurus looks like fun too! I really have to spend more time in AK. So many things I haven't seen... including the Nemo musical!

You need to see Nemo. :yay:

We have a full slate, if we do everything we want to do this weekend. We'll see what we actually get in. ;)

I know the Easter Bunny will be well-loved this year by your sweet girl. You'll have to share a picture.

It is very nice to have Trent and Tanya joining us for Easter. :goodvibes

Woo hoo for Baylor. Way to go.:cheer2:

See, if we lived in DIStown, we would have all been there cheering for him. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Happy Friday morning MeMom. Have a great day at home.

I also love the pic of Bella on the train. And the pic of Brooklynn with her lunch made me laugh. She looked a little upset with her hotdog.

And it is a Friday with NO SCHOOL! :dance3:

I can't wait to see my two precious girls tonight!

I very much want to come to Knoxville. Louisville is a little closer, I think, so we were going for the least amount of time on the road. It looks like we are going to finally get to Dollywood in October. :cool1:

Good luck with your Easter meal. I'm going to be making a bunch of deviled eggs tomorrow to go with mine, because both my boys are deviled egg eaters.

Maybe that's why they are such devils.

More great pictures around AK.
Those desserts from Restaurantosaurus look yummy!

I didn't taste the chocolate. I'll have to ask Jill about that. I was so stuffed from the good burger that I took about one bite of the cheesecake. It was so-so, but in all fairness, maybe just because I was so full.

Here are some non-trip things that I thought you guys might enjoy.

Last Sunday, I met up with Dawn and Seth as they were leaving to go back to Atlanta. I got to meet Anna and Luke, too.

We just met in a parking lot so that they could move on and I could get on to church afterward.

SethZooFieldTrip001.jpg

Luke had already settled in with his video game. Seth had his pal, Buzz.

SethZooFieldTrip002.jpg

I was happy to get to see them for a few minutes. :goodvibes

Wednesday, our second-graders went to the Nashville Zoo.
It was a little drizzly at first, but it cleared up soon after we got there, and we had a nice time. I didn't take a lot of pictures, because I had to keep my eyes on a bunch of kids, but I do have a few for all of you animal lovers.

Warning: There will be some spiders and snakes.

my alphabetical order list for this week.

SethZooFieldTrip054.jpg

See if you can make the Disney conenctions. :wizard:

I did cheat a little with merry-go-round, but carousel doesn't start with 'm'. ;)

I LOVE the little birdies!!! I can't remember the last time that I went to a zoo. We have one in Toledo, and it's nice, but I pretty sure that I haven't been since my daughter started 1st grade. I'm glad that you were able to have a nice day at the zoo.

Nice zoo! I was making Disney connections even before I saw your board. Flamingos, alligators, elephants, giraffes... all made me think of the AK safari... tigers, the AK trail... koi pond, Japan pavilion... yeah, I was making the connections the whole time just like you were, I'm sure. I wonder if I will ever enjoy anything again based solely on its own merit without comparing it to Disney. :rolleyes1 It's a sickness, I tell ya!

Baylor played baseball in a cold yucky mist tonight. We won. Tell Trent that Baylor had an in the park home run, right over the pitchers head clear out to the fence. That kid, ran like the wind around those bases and slid into home!

Congrats to Baylor - how exciting!

Memom- On a side note, because I don't think I've mentioned it, my mom is "Memom." It is amusing because we live in PA...but her family is from Mississippi and Alabama, so at least it makes sense to us. My daughters always refer to her as their grandmother to their friends.

I would love to be in AK - anywhere in AK - right now...

I took my daughters and their friends to our zoo yesterday. (Phila Zoo). We didn't get there until 1:00...big mistake! Just like Disney, you have to start early. Waiting in line to ride the camels was longer than nearly any line we wait in at Disney! Since I have an AP...oops... a membership, it is okay to not see everything.

Glad your field trip was successful, and I agree middle school kids are the worst! UGH - the meaness as a result of the hormones! :scared1:

I should've listened to that spider and snake warning...:scared1: I'm terrified of both!

I always love seeing all of the big cats when I go to the zoo. There's a nice zoo in Providence. They have a cheetah and one or two clouded leopards. There's another zoo about a half hour away that's really nice. They have lions and tigers, and my cousin got to ride an elephant the last time we went. They also have a 35 acre fenced in forest area filled with deer. It's really cool. You can get food from them(a quarter for a hand full or something like that) and feed them from your hands if they'll come up to you. Usually they're shy, but I've had a few walk up to me. They're so cute :lovestruc

I'm glad to know Brooklyn enjoyed her hot dog! I'll have to make a point of not going to Pizzafari for lunch and head there instead! The food certainly looked good!

I love love love the zoo pictures! :goodvibes It's a good thing I didn't get up early this morning to look at this or I would have had to drive up to the Toronto Zoo for a fix...it's only a couple of hours away! I'll have to settle for going to see African Cats this afternoon and wearing my "Tigger is that you?" shirt:thumbsup2 I love the close-up picture of the giraffe! And how nice you got to see some Dis-friends!

Hope you're having a lovely start to your Easter weekend!:goodvibes

Yes it is. Disney connection on EVERY SINGLE WORD. :lmao:

Love the zoo pics!!

Wow Seth is getting so big. What a cutie. That's great that you got to see them.

Those rainbow lorikeets sat on the arms of many of the students. The kids loved it! They are so brightly colored. You should make a mother-daughter trip to the zoo. You'd probably both enjoy it.

Yep. ::yes::

Nope. :thumbsup2

Yep. :)

I'm thinking about getting an AP to this one. ;)

The middle school next to us uses a football field that is on the other side of our building, so the kids walk by my window every day, several times a day. I always have my window open to let in fresh air and to remind me that there is an outside world that I will escape to at the end of the day. I hear their often loud conversations, and some of them will make noises and run, trying to be disturbing on purpose. We've gotten used to it, and I ignore it in front of my students, but inside I am rolling my eyes at their goofiness.

I really think tigers could be my favorite animal, if I have a favorite. Maybe they can be my favorite mammal. :) I like sea turtles, too, although I am not sure why, because sea turtle moms have nothing to do with their kids, so it's weird that I should pick them. Favorite bird - flamingo or pelican.

I'm glad to know Brooklyn enjoyed her hot dog! I'll have to make a point of not going to Pizzafari for lunch and head there instead! The food certainly looked good!

The burgers are really good. We had eaten at Flame Tree and Pizzafari so many times, so this was a nice change. Trent had never been, so this was a good chance for him to see something different.

If we don't get to see it this weekend, you can enlighten us on the movie. Brooklynn would love it, but she might get sad in some parts.

Yes it is. Disney connection on EVERY SINGLE WORD. :lmao:

Good job! :teacher: It would not have been as magical if I had thrown any words in there that didn't have a connection. :wizard:

Love the zoo pics!!

Wow Seth is getting so big. What a cutie. That's great that you got to see them.

We weren't sure if meeting up was going to work. Dawn has so many people to see when she is in town, and she had Margot's birthday party. I went about 15 minutes north, and she went about ten minutes out of her way from going to see Erica, so it wasn't hard on either of us. I am glad I got to see Seth and his cute little bottom teeth.

****************************************

I am so very happy to have today off. This morning, I made deviled eggs to put aside for Sunday dinner. I told Tanya I would have to hide them from Trent by covering them up and marking them as COOKIES on the label. With most people, you'd have to hide cookies by marking them as EGGS.

A friend of mine from the kids' school called and said she had a twin bed she was wanting to get rid off, and asked if I still wanted one for the girls. I definitely did, and I told her I'd get Trent to get a truck and come get it. She said she and her husband were going to be out and about and they'd just bring it by. It was so nice to have it for free and to have it brought right to me! :dance3: It was good to see her again, and we caught up on kids and school stuff. We worked after school care together for several years.

Then I went to Target to get some Easter odds and ends. I found the most fun Easter eggs for the girls. They have little insects on them - ladybugs, bees, etc. - and nets to catch them with. Brooklynn will especially like them, I bet. My Target does have the Mickey and Minnie soap pumps, but I didn't get either one. I have seen a solid black ceramic one, so if I ever decide to put another touch of Disney in the AKL bathroom, other than the AKL print, I'll probably get the ceramic one, since it has no writing.

So, that's been my day so far, along with a little vacuuming, and I did scrub the tub. I'm going to go make a cake for the girls to decorate and start on some potato soup to take to Joan and Brandy tomorrow. Hope you are all having an awesome Friday and are having the same nice weather that we're having today.
