My 3 year old calls the Haunted Mansion "Grim Grinning Ghosts" because of the song. I find it funny because she can barely say it, but does so, repeatedly and very fast. It's her favorite ride (go figure...)
Haunted Mansion: Haunted House
Tom Sawyer's Island: Tom Selleck's Island
Mission Space: Mission to Space or Mission to Mars
Innoventions: Interventions
Expedition Everest: Exposition Everest
TTA: is of course, The People Mover
Astro Orbiter: The Rockets
Soarin': Soaring
Test Track: Fast Track
Maelstrom: Norvay
This year was the first time my friend was going to WDW and I was telling her about Soarin', and a few days later she was like, "I can't wait to go on Sorano!" lol so we joke around and call it that very often!
My younger dd has called TofT "Up down, up down" since the first time she rode it, and the name has stuck for the whole family. Mission Space is "space rocket"
One of DH's former chiefs referred to WDW as Misery World. I don't know why cause he goes every year and loves it. Perhaps it's something his wife came up with. I know if I had to spend a week with him there I'd be calling it Misery World too.
In our family, whenever we refered to "tower of terror" we would say the name of the ride so fast that it became 2 syllables - phonetically "tar-tear".. We just went with it, and now we say "you want to go on tar-tear?"
