FRozen castle lighting

We will be at MK Sunday 1/11. I had no clue that they would extend the lighting of the castle by Elsa. We have Chef Mickeys at 5:00 and the castle ceremony is at 6:30. Im thinking it will be doubtful that we will make it back on time.
Does anyone know how long the show is? Is it something we would have to go early to stake out seats or on the off chance we were coming back in, could we catch the end of the show?
If it were up to me, I would cancel chef mickeys and stay for the show because im sure the kids would love it.
We are traveling with bil and chef mickeys was the only thing he asked that we do with him.
I looked for a different time for chef mickeys with no luck.
How long does it take for travel time to the contemporary.
Is it quicker to walk or do the monrail.

1. Agreed.
2. Very brief (under 10 minutes.)
3. No "seats." I assume you mean "places to stand."
4. You won't be making it back for any of it unless you simply leave Chef Mickey's without seeing many characters
and not eating much of the $$$ food.
5. Really, it's not much of a show. Not worth canceling a signature character meal.
6. You would want to WALK back from the CR to MK.
That walk is 6-8 minutes. Then, security bag-check. Then the trek down a busy Main Street.

This event is not something to stress over, IMO.
