Sunday is the Christian Sabbath.![]()
Depends on the Christian.
Sunday is the Christian Sabbath.![]()
As usual, the left ignores the point I made (PC allows bigotry against the right, but not the left).
But even given that, I'm willing to answer the question above.
No.
But interestingly, I've never heard a homosexual apologize for hijacking the adjective "gay" - so I guess they're proud of that.

And those in our government do. We as a people have given them (directly or indirectly) such authority. And we usually vote on changes.
The 14th amendment applies because gays do not have access to the equal protection that marriage laws grant them. Simple. And the courts (those darned activist judges) have been ruling that way. I guess you haven't been paying attention. Read up on the recent NJ ruling.![]()
Just curious as I haven't been following this subthread. But interestingly, I've never heard a homosexual apologize for hijacking the adjective "gay" or calling anyone who disagrees with their political agenda a "homophobe" - so I guess they're proud of both.

The good news is that if we accept what Jesus did on the cross (see John 3:16), then all of our sins are forgiven and eternal salvation is ours.![]()
Just to keep things straight, (no pun intended), the NJ ruling had to do with the New Jersey Constitution, not the federal Constitution.
Depends on the Christian.
My question was why have not all courts ruled this way if it's so cut and dried.
Just curious as I haven't been following this subthread.
You are actually upset that the word "gay" is used to describe homosexuals - and you think this is something homosexuals should apologize for? Really?

I finally get it! If I accept him into my life I can be as hateful and narrow-minded as I want! It would not matter how I treated people because all of my sins would be forgiven.

No, and I completely disapprove of it's use in that fashion.

See, Joe, this is the damage you are doing. You DO make people think this. You and other Christians like you.Is this how Jesus drew in the masses? I think not.
I'm thinking there must be a version of the Bible that reads:I finally get it! If I accept him into my life I can be as hateful and narrow-minded as I want! It would not matter how I treated people because all of my sins would be forgiven.
I'm thinking there must be a version of the Bible that reads:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life (except for gays).
And
Judge not lest you be judged (expect when it comes to gays - then it's OK to judge)
I don't care how you try to disguise it I don't care what book you quote or what so called moral high ground you stand on to deny same sex couples the right to marry is an act based in hate alone. Use religion to justify it if you want to. There are so many human beings denied basic human rights in this world based on a groups religious beliefs. There are women being killed because they were raped because of religion. What makes anyones denial of human rights right because there religion is different from the other religions that deny human rights? You might as well be apart of the taliban.
When are people going to learn to follow there own moral compass. My heart and mind tells me that if 2 human beings love eachother and are commited to eachother, then they should have every right to be married. No book marred by the hand of man will ever convince me that I should have rights that another human being should not. One day this injustice will be buried and dead just as slavery is in this country which incidentily was supported and upheld by religion and it's institutions ("the cursed tribe of ham", "Slaves obey your masters" read your bibles). I thank God that the human heart prevailed and people had enough real morality and not book learned morality to fight it and overturn it like devil in religious clothing that it was.
This is one of the last upheld injustices in this country and it is a stain on democracy and the constitution. It is a stain on everything this country was created to be. We all need to be fighting for gay rights. If they don't have the same rights as all of us, what makes any of our rights secure. What other group will be singled out as inferior and undeserving. If it can happen to one of us, it can happen to all of us. We all live in this country. This is not two Americas, one for those whose lifestyle you don't agree with and one for you and your clique. This is one nation, it should have one set of laws to govern all of it's citizens.
