Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Happy Saturday Friends

I believe in carrying yourself like you’re a class act and I raised my girls to carry themselves that way too (one does and one does not)

I was having a hard time thinking of how I can word this, so I looked it up and this is what I found ⬇️. This describes my thoughts perfectly and it’s in a list form 👍🏻. Everyone can look and act like a class act, regardless of what their financial status is. This is how I was raised, this is how I am now and this is how I’ll die. I want people to remember me as someone that had a lot of class.

So, I’m grateful that I do the below classy lifestyle things ⬇️, even on days like today when my DD22 and I go thrifting, because I’m all about buying clothes and other items from second hand stores. I can not begin to tell everyone the compliments I get on my outfits, and most of it came from Goodwill, and the outfit cost me around $10. Maybe less on 50% off day, which is today.

My car when I take things to Goodwill trust me it’s stuffed which means I’m getting everything out of my house and doing a massive clean out!! I hope this one counts

Classy Things
Fine China I know most people don’t like it these days but I still do I think it’s really pretty I like buying pretty plates and pretty bowls when I see them at the antique mall

Nice jewelry - depending on your style but older jewelry it’s very classy - special stuff my opinion from like the 1920s and some even earlier it’s really pretty and versatile pieces were made to be taken apart in more in different ways

Really nice clothing a beautiful dress like an evening dress or a nice gown your formal wear very classy

Afternoon all,

Classy or elegant isn't usually something I'd associate with myself or my lifestyle (I'm from North of Manchester which anyone from the UK might understand 😂 )

1. Evening gowns/classy dresses - another vote for these. I have a few that I don't get to wear very often, but I definitely feel incredible when I do.

2. Fine dining - I'm a foodie in general and will eat most things, and I do appreciate fine dining and top rated restaurants from time to time. Making it to Victoria & Albert's is still on my wishlist for a future WDW trip, the price just puts me off as it's nearly double the cost of a Michelin starred place over here.

3. Manners - another vote for this. I feel like manners are a little lacking sometimes in certain folk nowadays which is a shame, so I'm always grateful when someone exhibits some!

China/Sterling/Crystal - it just makes dining feel special. I have the place to myself and I’m thinking of making myself a nice dinner, plating it with the good stuff and having a solo elegant evening in my dining room.

Saturday night classical concerts - back in my symphony days, Saturday night was the first performance of a concert series. Monday nights were also on the same elegance level but there was just something about Saturday. It was the first night, many of the socialite donors were in attendance and there was just this vibe of peak refinement that made it feel extra special.

Designer garments where the craftsmanship speaks of the luxury vs. a ton of logos- Don’t get me wrong, I like some of the things covered in logos, but have you ever noticed a perfectly tailored pair of pants or dress made of beautiful fabric where you’d never know who made it without checking a label inside the garment? Just so elegant and refined.

From what I've seen in reruns of TV shows from the 1950s, people's demeanor then was overall classier and more respectful.
Oh-oh.... you will be getting a survey in the mail from FAA...all those 1950s airline commercials... I wore a blazer and button shirt on my very first flight ✈️ ✈️ ✈️ in 1981... that is what I saw in the 1950s commercials....a month later didn't care... I don't think the army wanted me to show up in a suit attire for basic training..... month later we had to wear our class A dress uniform.for Christmas leaves.. didn't want the soldiers... looking like bums... they even put fear in us that airports Nation wide had officers making sure were class acts
