It actually got much better about an hour ago - and now I don't care how late I need to stay up...better just finish it while I can!!

I also did my photo Christmas Cards... having them sent to Walgreens.. and then using my $5.00 off coupon!

Like anything in life, you get what you pay for.

Somethings don't need to stand the test of time (candles, tupperware, make-up), but family books that should be preserved and passed down for generations to come, need to stand the test of time. Why go cheap on that? Will you still be happy 6 months to 1 year from now when the binding starts to fall apart (it's glued not professionally stitched).

FYI, that sort of attitude is what turned me away from the higher end stuff several years ago.

I have my mom's pictures, and you know what? They are a pain. I don't know who the people are, I don't know the stories behind it, and I actually don't much care even though I loved her very much. They aren't things I look through, even though all of her black and white stuff is still perfect (the late 70s early 80s stuff not so much, thanks to "magnetic" albums, but then I'm in those pictures and know the stories), b/c having all of that stuff is a burden.

I hope that when I'm gone, if my son doesn't want the albums, he feels OK about just tossing them, if they don't mean anything to him.

So I'm OK with my less expensive stuff when I don't have the fundage to go with the snootier stuff (creative memories, for me, now that I found a consultant who wouldn't flip her lid if I dared to bring in a non CM sticker or pen)!



I'm still uploading pix to work on tomorrow, ugh. I have all my wanted books made right now, so I decided to do a grandson book for my MIL (the one I don't speak to!), just to be extra-sweet.

to anyone who's done this successfully, can I ask a question?

I have all of my pictures loaded onto snapfish. One I drag and drop them on a page, how long should it REALLY take before I can see my page?

If the site is not too busy, then it will happen immediately.

I did mine yesterday. As I approached the time people started getting home from work, it slowed down more and more. But, I just multi tasked.. read the DIS while I waited for the photo book to load.

I gave up on finishing my book last night. All I saw were those rotating circles for about two hours, no matter how often I tried to start over. I even tried another computer and had no luck.

I hopped on this morning and my book is now complete and off for printing. I added a few pages, $3.xx extra, plus 6.99 shipping so I paid $11.63 with sales tax.

Finally got done, went to check out and it says after the 29.99 discount, I still owe $37! Is there a page limit to this offer?

Is that on the final screen of the check out process? It will show the full price until you enter your credit card info. The next screen displays the reduced price. $29.99 is for the first 20 pages.

Please, can one of you experts please tell me what a good font size would be?

I have them at 20 - but have no idea if that will 'look' okay when printed.

Also, do we HAVE to have a caption for every page?

If a caption isn't used on a page, will there be a big blank (orange?) spot?

As for font size, i don't know, i used the elegant font, and did it a med. size, i am not too picky though, so i am not sure how it will print.. i am sure it will be fine. I would say that anything 12+ size is fine. I wouldn't go smaller than size 12 though.

And no, you don't have to do captions at all!! Most of my book is simply full bleed page photos! You can change the layout of each page on the layout tab, and lots of them don't have the captions.

YES! It is a 20 page LIMIT to the FREE offer, but you can add more pages i guess and pay for the above and beyond the 20 pages.. I just kept mine at 20 and paid just over $7 for the shipping.

As to the person who commented on the quality, I LOVE the quality of these photobooks, they are a GREAT product..

I've been using a font size of around 22, but sometimes have to change it to fit the space. You can go to the "preview" button and preview the whole book or just one page to make sure you like what you see. Then just go back to "edit" when you are finished. No, you do not have to caption. I leave some blank. There will be no empty caption box if you do not use it; just the regular background chosen.

I had problems making mine all night last night. The pictures wouldn't load... thinking circle would just spin and spin, and then when something finally did show up, it was usually a red box. I'm so frustrated. I let it sit over night to do its thing and I'll purchase it tonight when i get home from work. I'm willing to put in the effort for free though, it is one less gift I have to worry about for my inlaws.

Well since no one answered me I thought I'd give an update so others won't worry.

Yes, you WILL be credited.

I finally got through and they were lovely about crediting my account, similar to the last time I ordered photos and they double billed me.

They's extremely busy right now, DUH so keep trying if you need to speak with someone.
