FREE photobook from snapfish.com

I screwed up and got charged full price. I am waiting on a reply to my email for a credit. I can't get through on the phone.

All my pics say low res, anyone know why?

I had a few photopass pix that were low res. I'm pretty sure it's because they were my edited ones, so it's essentially spreading what was a tight resolution in the original over more of a space, thinning out the resolution. For my cover, I had to use just the black page with a square in the middle. I tried the full picture. maybe I'll try again with one of my own higher res pix.

If you have a lot of low res, I would recommend using two or more pictures to a page, as that should allow lower resolution pictures. It should be mostly the HUGE pictures that won't work.

All my pics say low res, anyone know why?

I used just a few "low res" photos in the last photo book I made. It was on a page with 8 photos and even then they were low res. And it DOES show up that way in the book...they will look fuzzy/grainy.

I keep trying to do the custom cover, but then it won't let me change the first page to a full pic, even with the photo (custom cover cover) it says that "to show thru the cover, blah blah.." i don't want it to show thru the cover... ugh.. i can't fix it.. I am just trying to go with it and see what happens..

I am having the exact same problem. I don't want the "keyhole" cover, I chose the custom cover and put a photo on it. So then on page one, it won't let me change the layout because it says the pre-chosen layout is necessary to fit through the hole in the cover. :confused3 Anyone else have this problem?:confused3

And it is running a little slow right now but not too bad. Wish they had a real-time customer service rep like some of the other companies do.

If I chose easy fill, how do I change the layout to fix the low res issues? Even when there are 2 or 3 on a page it says low res.

oh my..it was going pretty quick but now I am at a standstill...everything is taking forever! Guess I'lltry tomorrow!

Like anything in life, you get what you pay for. I am a Heritage Makers consultant (similar to Snapfish but higher quality, more sophistication, costs more). If they were paying a live customer service rep, Snapfish would have to charge more. With HM, you not only get your own personal publishing consultant (someone like me) to call, but HM has a TOLL-FREE customer service help line in case your own consultant isn't available.

Heritage Makers storybooks is featured on page 94 of the (current) December 2008 issue of Oprah's "O" magazine - as part of her favorite things! No company can buy that placement, you have to earn it. However, Snapfish paid to have their company mentioned on Oprah since they are giving away free books.

Somethings don't need to stand the test of time (candles, tupperware, make-up), but family books that should be preserved and passed down for generations to come, need to stand the test of time. Why go cheap on that? Will you still be happy 6 months to 1 year from now when the binding starts to fall apart (it's glued not professionally stitched). There are many more differences, but I think you get the point.

Just sharing why there is a difference in price....

Does anyone know why I would get a solid red box where text should be on some of my pages? This happened after I edited and previewed the text. At that point, it looked perfect, but now when I went back to the saved book to preview it one more time, it has several of these red boxes! I don't know if it' because the site is slow, and I sure don't want to have red boxes when I order.

Well I'm upset! I finally finished this thing and I went to check out. It started with the book as full price when checking out like it said it would. Then right before the final click to purchase button or whatever it just had the $7.51 for shipping & taxes and then my confirmation page and everything else shows $39.57! (sorry for the run-on)!

So I tried calling several times and nothing. I e-mailed them and hope they fix this asap!

I've had the same thing happen...and now all I get are rotating circles. For the last 15 minutes!

Guess I am stopping for now!

all I have are rotating circles. I have never used them before but this is not fun!

I was getting on to ask about the circles..guess I'm not alone. :confused3 Told dh I need to get up at 3am and work on my book when everyone is sleeping :rotfl2:

to anyone who's done this successfully, can I ask a question?

I have all of my pictures loaded onto snapfish. One I drag and drop them on a page, how long should it REALLY take before I can see my page?

Giving up for now....going to watch the end of ER and then off to bed!

I have used various companies when making photo books. I just finished one with Inkubook and they have live customer service, which I used. I understand that "you get what you pay for", but I think Snapfish does have a fine quality product. I'm sure it falls somewhere below your company's product, but for what I am making it doesn't have to be high end. What I am making is not meant to be a family heirloom. I'm sure there is a niche for heritage makers just as there is for snapfish.

I got all my pics uploaded and went to make my book, but this message is at the top of the page:

Service Note: Due to high demand for photo books we recommend you make your book another day

I wonder if they'll extend the offer past tomorrow night since there is this problem. Guess I'll just check back tomorrow and see how it's going.
