So, Today's Topics (Wed, 7/30) -

3 things you're grateful for about your father-in-law (if you have one and he's terrific)

or, inspired by my own father-in-law, 3 things you're grateful for that start with the letter B

Blankets I may have issue with this because I have like probably 100 of them I have blankets for every holiday I have Disney blankets well of course I do but I like having a throw a blanket around just in case I get chilly which I usually am all the time🤣🤣🤣

Bed - I love my bed I wish I could spend more time in it and again I got my soft flush blankets on it and lots of pillows and two cats because they never seem to get off of it because they like it too and at the bottom of my bed there’s a dog 🐕

Beef 🥩 my favorite ❤️

Happy HUMP Day

#1 - HANDY - I’m very grateful for all the times he’s helped my DH with projects and fixing things.

#2 - TEACHER - This piggybacks on #1. He has been a great teacher with teaching my DH everything he knows for fixing things.

#3 - GOOD GRANDPA - I’m very grateful that he was a good grandfather to both my girls

Layered things...

Cake! My birthday was on Saturday and, as we were traveling, DD bought me a cake from my favorite bakery in Portsmouth, NH. Two tiers with 2 layers each, chocolate chunk cake, chocolate ganache between the tiers, white chocolate ganache between the layers, vanilla buttercream. It was awesome!

Rainbow jello. When I was little, my mom would make rainbow jello for dessert. She'd layer strawberry (or raspberry or cherry), orange, lemon, lime, and grape jello in a loaf pan, then serve it in slices with whipped cream "clouds" at either end of the rainbow. I know it was just jello, but it's such a warm memory from childhood.

Seven layer dip. It's kind of like having cold nachos on a hot summer night. Hmmm... what's for supper tonight?

"B" things... (because my FIL and I are not besties...)

Last name. Both of my sisters and I kept our last names when we married (the 'bee' part of leebee). DH's last name is a "B" meaning that DD's last name, although different from mine, is also a "B" name. My sister's girls both have the "B" name starting their hyphenated last name, and my brother's 4 kids are also the "B" name. Also, my cousins group is the "B" name (even though many of them aren't the B name, one of their parents' names was). Lots of us "Bs" around here... practically a hive!!

The BEACH. Oddly enough, I am not your typical beach person; I'm good for about an hour in the sun. However, I LOVE walking on the beach in the early morning with my coffee, or the early evening (🍷🍸).

Books. I love to read! Even though I am stuck with a Nook these days, the hardcover editions of my favorite book series are still on my bookshelf. They look wonderful, and remind me of my more youthful days, when I could read a hardcover instead of a Nook. (Cataract surgery is scheduled for fall, maybe my books are in my future!)

Father in Law
1. He loved me like I was one of his own.
2. He was an amazing Grandpa to my kids.
3. He was always kind to everyone.
4. He was an excellent high school math teacher. We still get comments about it to this day.
5. He took me to my DR appointments when I was on bed rest and came up every day to check on me.

Dad has been gone 10 years, but it still feels as fresh as yesterday. ❤️ May he rest in peace.

I'm grateful that my FIL is wonderful! - 3 specific things:
1) Treats me like one of his own kids
2) Gives great help/advice on household stuff (especially comforting back when DH traveled a lot for work!)
3) We worked for the same company before my DS was born (out of two different offices, but still cool to have that in common)

I'm back :) Even got a little bit of time in Downtown Disney when we were in CA.

B

Bacon - Bacon makes everything better.

Bed - I really missed my own bed with all of this travel.

Birthdays - We had a lot of fun celebrating birthdays (both real ones and made up) while we were on the road. Mine and DD18 are just around the corner. Nobody really likes getting older but it's a blessing to still be around to celebrate each one.

Welcome back  Hope you had a great time!

Afternoon everyone. Not married so definitely going with the B things...

1. Books - I've been an avid reader since a very young age and whether it's a traditional paper book or an eBook, I couldn't live without them. There's nothing better than immersing yourself in a fictional world.

2. Backpacks - for years I used to hate backpacks, would refuse to buy them in favour of crossbody style handbags but in recent years I've developed a huge love for them. Whether its a smarter one for for work or more casual out and about, and I have far too many including Loungeflys. I actually get annoyed now when I cant use a backpack.

3. Bed - who doesnt love to sink into bed after a long tiring day or have a nice lie in in the morning? For me I'm not even precious about my own bed, any bed as long as its comfy with decent pillows will do.

I don’t have a FIL so I will have to go with B things . . .

I agree with books. I read at least one book every day, and more than one if they are novella length. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t read. 📖

Balloons, particularly ones filled with helium. It just makes me happy to see them bobbing along . . . 🎈

Bunnies. I love bunnies. They are so cute and fluffy! 🐰
