Free Flights on AirTran with cups at Wendy's

Can you check A+ availability before you have the credits. I am thinking of buying some cups, but only if I can get the flight I want. I need to fly on Feb. 26th to Orlando and I am thinking that even if I get the cups I won't be able to redeem them by the time I mail them in, they credit my account, etc.
Also, about how much are taxes/fees on a ticket?

You can call and check availability, but it can change very quickly. I posted earlier about booking one person, then calling back not an hour later, and the Aplus seats were gone. BUT I called back today and its open again. :confused3 If you want one particular flight on a specific day, I wouldn't chance it. If your times are flexible and there are a few flights that day, you might have luck. You probably have enough time to send them in and get credits posted to your account if you act fast.

It cost me $2.50 to book a one way. Not sure if it varies depending on theflight, but either way, that's one cheap ticket!

Okay, so I just flew Airtran for my January trip and here is the summary of my flight costs:

fare: $220
Federal Excise Tax:$14.51
Federal Segment Tax: $6.40
Airport Passenger Facility Charge: $7.50
September 11th Security Fee: $5

So all the "extras" (taxes and fees) come out to $33.41. That is why I don't understand how people are paying just $2.50-$10 to book their flights. Do you not have to pay these extra fees when you book using the coupons?

I can't speak directly for Airtran, but we had a similar situation with Sun Country Airlines. They had a buy 2 get the third free promo. We were told we would have to still pay the taxes on that free ticket. The taxes came out to just over $10. I am sure it is similar for Airtran.

Happy Friday!

Thanks! I will go request my vouchers today.

For those of you who have booked travel, did you have a problem with alot of blackout dates? Just curious. We want to take a trip in June, but won't know exact dates for sure until probably end of next month.

Thanks!

Is this something that wendys is still doing? I eat at wendys and have never heard of this?? How many cups do you need for the free ticket? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Alot of Wendy's are not doing this promotion. Here in CT there are only two that I know of and I heard alot of others are not in other states.
The promotion ends in early Feb so it really might be too late for you to start now. My Wendy's has run out of cups and they are not getting anymore.
I was able to collect enough for 3 RT tickets, that was 64 coupons per RT ticket. I drank alot of Diet Coke in the past few weeks. Peggie

Ours must not be doing it then. :sad1: Thank you so much anyway!

I hate to ask this but would someone check dates for me May 20 coming in May 27.I live 2 hrs away from the closest airport for Air tran.I have BCV booked but I could try to change to the week before or the week after. Thanks

Wendy's that did participate were supposed to stop giving out the cups on 12/31. People have until 2/13 to redeem the vouchers.

If Airtran doesn't fly into the state you live in then they're not doing the cups. We found that out last month. Although most are either running out or out of them by now.

I beg to differ..... the closest Airtran terminal to us is Boston (they don't fly out of Manchester, NH), but at least one of my local Wendy's had the cups. (Maybe more than one, but since I wasn't in the market for an Airtran ticket, I didn't check any of them.) Maybe we are considered "within their market" since we are only about a 2 hr drive from Logan Airport.................P

Well, I was ripped off by Air Trans. I sent in the coupons and was shorted 1/2 credit. There are no more Wendy's in my area participating and I now need 4 more cups (since you can only send them in increments of 4). Does anyone have a Wendy's that is still participating? The thing is, I took digital pictures of all of my cups spread out in one photo and of them on top of the envelope on my digital scale and of them inside the envelope on my digital scale. In my photo, you can clearly count all of the coupons, but Air Trans says that they counted them twice so I must be wrong. :scared:

My niece lives in Oklahoma and they never had the promotion, since they don't fly out of there. Maybe you have to be fairly close to the airport, but that's what the Wendy's told them. Of course we wished we had known about it earlier, so we could have gotten tickets for lots of family members to use, but they've run out here now.

You can get 4 credits on Airtran by simply signing up for the Visa card. I think there is a $39 annual fee, but it is there in a pinch. You get the 4 credits (equal to 16 cups) when you make your first purchase.

Does anyone know if airtran releases more seats for A+ customers as the time of the flight nears? Like maybe 6 months in advance they only release 10 seats, but then 4 months in advance they release another 5 and so on. I just called to try to redeem my coupons but there was nothing for my dates. I am wondering if I should just book a cash reservation and save the coupon for another trip or if I should wait awhile to see if more seats are released.

I only recently became familar with this promotion. My brother who is usually one step ahead of everyone literally bought 2 sleeves of cups from Wendy's. They charged him for 50, (or however many there were) soda's. He told them to keep the soda. I am not exagerating, he got 2 roundtrips to Grand Bahama and 2 two to LA. No Disney this time for him, they havew wedding to go to :(
