BRV vs CCV?

We own at CCV. It was a financial decision over BRV for the longer contract with the same point chart. We found a great resale deal and at the time, it was only about $25 more per point than BRV.

As far as the rooms, we love the 1 bedroom at CCV. We had a high floor with a lake view this past summer and it was incredible. We’re staying at BRV for the first time next year so we’ll see how we feel between the two. We chose BRV for the upcoming trip because we wanted the murphy bed.

Both have their charm. If you are looking to buy, I would say the wise choice from a pure how many points you get per dollar is CCV by a large margin. BRV is asking too much given it's life. I also agree that CCV has more flex in number/style of rooms to book and I love the GV there. For just staying, I'd give a slight edge to CCV but we love BRV too.

We probably should have done CCV over BRV. But when we bought our first contract, our plan was to just have a 50 point contract and bank/borrow for a studio every so often. We prefer BRV theme/location over CCV and we know studios are harder to get after the 11 month mark. We didn't want to be stuck in a CCV studio.

But now we have 200 BRV points and plan to stay in 1 bedrooms, which seem fairly easy to get at BRV at the 7-month mark. If that had been the plan all alone, CCV would have been a better value in the long run.

But strictly on location and decor....I'm definitely loving BRV.

I stayed in a one bedroom in CC in December and mostly because of the size and the decorations, I much prefer the 1 bedroom at VWL. I wanted to stay in the main building, and I am glad we did. We had a very nice view of the lake, but the balcony was so small, you couldn’t sit out there and see above the railing.

What's this VWL of which you speak😊? Actually since it was VWL when we bought, I have a hard time with the new name. The balcony being small and not convenient would be a problem with me. But I can understand why you might prefer being right in the main building.

Is it luck of the draw getting a lake view instead of woods view on opposite side? Why not have standard and preferred (particularly for higher floors) view categories?

I’ve never stayed at BRV but potentially would.

Luck

Luck, availability, or by request. Odd numbered rooms face the lake, however, the further down the hall you are, it is less of a lake view. The trees have really grown in. You may see more Cabins than lake.

I wanted to revive this old thread. I own at CCV and I have never been there. I booked a studio at CCV at 11 months and now Im looking to modify my reservation to a 1 bedroom. CCV and BRV are both available and are about the same point cost. We are looking for cleanest, closest to transportation to the most places, best pools, least amount of walking, most food options. (tall order) As much as Id like to say Ive stayed at my home resort Im now thinking we might be happier at BRV due to it being refurbed (we stayed at AKV and did not like its condition at all) This stay is in August.

If I read this thread correctly I can use the pools at CCV and BRV no matter which I am staying at?

One thing to consider. BRV was fully renovated about 2.5 years ago. CCV is scheduled to start renovations in May and go through September. So there will be construction happening at CCV. Both are great and all the resort amenities are shared by all guests, DVC and non DVC. Pools can be used by any and all WL guests.

Hahaha I have no idea what is happening at my home report. I thought the refurb was in 2026. I was leaning BRV but this changes things greatly. Wonder what my odds are of getting a newly refurbed room late August.

Good question! I have a CCV room booked in September so I am hoping it's one of the renovated rooms - by that time! I love both BRV and CCV, each have it's benefits. Enjoy your trip - you'll have to post an update on construction when you get back! You will love the WL.

Thanks! I will be honest I wasn't super happy with the choice of staying there and have BCV waitlisted, but now that I know my son will have access to 2 different pools and its being refurbed I am pretty excited about it!

Welllll when you hesitate to think you lose the room. CCV not available anymore. I should book BRV now so it doesnt happen again

We prefer the studio at BRV and the 1 bedroom at CCV. The 1 bedroom is a bit of a different layout at CCV than a lot of resorts and it works well for our family. I have heard others say they don't like it so definitely look up room floor plans. The studio at BRV gives us a 3rd sleeping surface which we prefer if squeezing into a smaller room. It's also really cute. We prefer the pool at BRV but they are shared and not very far apart.

I will take a look. Since I still plan on stalking to see if it comes back.

We love Wilderness Lodge and fell in love with Boulder Ridge!

That little covered walkway at night all lighted up with music playing just feels like home to me.

What we like about Copper Creek is it being attached to the Lodge - have been lucky to get a room that overlooked the lobby and that was so nice to walk out of the room and enjoy the lobby view.
