Free Flights on AirTran with cups at Wendy's

We have to send ours in. I know we're cutting it close too. I'm really thinking about either sending them priority mail...certainly worth 4.05 if it'll get them there quicker. And of course we can fit more in there than a regular envelope. I was also thinking about doing a delivery confirmation, but I don't know if there will be someone there that will sign for it or if that is more of a pain for those of you that are working there. I know we're going to appreciate any info you can give us. We were wondering if there were "real" people that are counting all those coupons....I don't envy you! But let me just tell you that we all appreciate you very much!!!

Well, I had 11 that I was going to use but I work as asubstitute teacher and one of the secretaries wants to go see her dad (one last time). jShe needs 12 so I am going to give her my 11 and she needs one more. Can anyone help? Please.

Welcome to the thread, Billie! I think I can speak for everyone here in saying thanks for counting all of the vouchers. It can't be fun! Plus, with the amount of them coming in now, you must be seeing piles of work waiting for you.

Do you know, by chance, about how long it is taking to process vouchers right now? I have been reading about the wonderful turnaround times people have been seeing (you and your co-workers must be counting like crazy!). Last report on the web was somewhere in the area of 7 or so days from the time Airtran receives them.

Have a wonderful trip next month! My neighbors got back about an hour ago! I am so jelous. DW is on the phone getting all the details as I type.

We got enough coupons for the adults in our group (3!) and they had the dates I wanted on the first try. We are booked and ready to go!!!

I sent my coupons in via UPS - signature required (verified it was OK to send other than USPS in a #10 envelope - what a joke - even 64 of them wouldn't fit in a #10 envelope!!!) It took 8 days to credit to my account from the day they received them.

Awesome promotion - Great customer service every time I called (asking all those annoying questions that came to mind) - As long as things go well on the flight, they've got some new customers!!!

only cost after the cups ($1.19 each with tax here = 76.16 per round trip ticket!) was the 9-11 fee of $2.50 per segment ($10 total per person). Can't fly anywhere for $86!!! WHAT A DEAL!!!

Hi Billie! And welcome to the AirTran thread. This cup collecting has been a lot of fun.

My question concerns the Feb 13th cutoff date. I know it's getting close now, and I wondered if you have heard how they will enforce the 'end' of this promotion.

Do all cup submissions have to be postmarked by 2/13 or received by 2/13. I know, it's just a few days difference ~ but it could make a big difference to those who are mailing them in just now.

THANKS for your help! :flower:

Hi, Trixie! I sure od hope I can be of some assistance to everybody here... I know this whole program can be kind of confusing.

The official line is that all coupons must be received by Feb. 13th, 2006. Why in the world they didn't make it just be postmarked by that date, I will never understand. Unfortunately, the only thing we agents have been given thus far is that official line.

Hope this helps some! :)

That's so very kind of you, Rachel! :) I'll be honest... I've been working in this department for nearly 3 years, and I'm one of the best-performing and rated agents on the team. I know my stuff backwards and forwards... but I'm just plum burnt out. Of course, the current madness from the Wendy's promotion doesn't help that feeling any! LOL Mostly I spend my 10-hour-days/4-days-a-week getting screamed at over the phone by people who sent their coupons in 3 days ago and they "still" have not posted to the account. *eyeroll* So I can't tell ya how much it means to me to see you express appreciation. What I do isn't a hard job by far, but it pays the bills and gives me some GREAT travel perks (I actually get 50% off of all WDW resorts!)... It's just a bit tedious. So I very much thank you for your kind words, and will do my best to help everybody here (as much as I can) to get throught this.

Now! On to your question! I actually encourage all my customers and friends to send them certified or registered mail, or via a service like DHL or FedEx. There's absolutely somebody here to sign for them, the office administrative assistant takes care of all of that stuff. The reason that I encourage this is that if they do get lost in the mail, AirTran has some fine print that says they are not liable for coupons not recieved... And unfortunately, if that haoppens, it would be your word against AirTran's. Without proof that we received them in Savannah and they were signed for, you won't have a leg to stand on should you coupons get misplaced.

I hope this helps some... Get them mailed soon, sugar! Only 3 weeks or so left! :)

(Sorry for posting so many times in a row like this guys, but it's the easiest way for me to respond to everybody's inquiries...)

Hi there, Duds! :) Fortunately, I don't have the count the vouchers themselves. Whew! The processing system for the coupons is a bit like an assemby line type of thing. This is the journey of your coupons, for interests sake:

STEP 1: Received from USPS by an AirTran team who opens, sorts, counts, and writes the total on the back of your 3x5 index card that you inclosed with your information.

STEP 2: Onto next team, who recounts, verifies the first person's count number, and signs off on it. The coupons are removed and the index cards are placed into a stack by date received.

STEP 3: The piles of index cards go to the A-Plus Rewards department (me!), who sit and pull up account numbers and do the data entry portion, posting the approriate number of credits (1 credit for every 4 coupons sent)into the account number listed on the card. From that moment on is when you can see the credits listed in your account.

STEP 4-?: After they leave me, they go other places, to be entered into spreadsheets and catalogued. I'm not sure on the details at that point. LOL

So there you have it! :D

Now, on to your real question... As mentioned above, the terms and conditions do state that it can take up to 6 weeks for coupons to post to your account. I wish I could tell you more than that, but I really can't. Towards the beginning of the promotion, it wasn't uncommon at all to see 7-day turn-around times on them. But now as the thing is coming to end and the mail volume is increasing dramatically (When I got to work at 10:00 am this past Monday, there were no less than four large mail-trucks parked in front of the building, waiting to unload... All four of them were completely filled with mail for AirTran), I really don't know what the "norm" is at the moment because things are beginning to fluctuate rapidly. I've talked to some customers who've gotten theirs in 7 days, others who have hit their 6-week mark and are still waiting. The coupons are supposed to be being process in the order that they are received, but unfortunately with so much mail I know that things are probably getting shuffled around sometimes. Please be patient. :)

Sorry I couldn't give you more info, Duds!

I just found out about these Wendy's cups. Are there any left at any of the Wendy's that anyone knows about or am I too late? This would be great for our family if we could just get enough credits for one person. Every little bit saved adds up!

I'm so glad to hear another success story! A+ seating is limited, and sometimes sells out very quickly... Especially anything and out of Florida. It does my heart good that you had such an easy time with it! Also, as it's my department you're talking about, I also appreciate your comments about the customer service you recieved over the phone. Glad somebody around that place is doing their job right! :)

And yes, I totally agree with you about the #10 envelope. ALL of us agents want to kill whoever put that into the terms and conditions. Would you believe that is probably the #1 most asked-question about this promotion? Lately whenever I answer the phone and somebody first says "Hi, I've got a question about this Wendy's promotion..." I don't even miss a beat and immeadiately say "You can send your coupons in whatever size envelope you want, and you can book the travel for anybody you would like." :D And 9 times out 10, it works... The caller is just like, "Wow... How did you know?!" LOL

I hope you enjoy your flights! :)

No Wendy's restaurant has received any more cups since Dec. 31st. Any locations that still have leftover cups available are authorized to continue selling them until Feb 5th, but that's it. Hope that helps!

If I send in the coupons tomorrow by Overnight express, do you think there is anyway I can get them in my account and posted in time to take a trip the last of February? A trip opportunity came up yesterday that I did not know about and I would love to use these for that trip.

I'm not Billie :) , but here's my 2 cents. If you send them tomorrow, I would think there's a good chance of them being credited to your account in time, but your problem is going to be availability of A+ seats. Even if you call now and the seats/flights are open, it could change within an hour. If your dates and times are flexible, I'd take a chance...you can always use the credits for something else if it doesn't work out. Or you may have to use the vouchers for a one way and purchase the other leg of the flight.

Hey Billie...um...I'll send ya some Wendy's coupons for a trade on your travel perks at WDW ;)

:) Hi, I've got another question for Billie:

Just out of curiosity, what has AirTran's reaction been to the response to the Wendy's promotion?

Did they expect this level of participation?

Thanks for your posts!

Haha! Not in this lifetime! :rotfl: I'm only a 4-5 hour drive from from WDW, so I don't NEED to fly... But I sure do need my WDW discount! :earboy2:

Lord, honey, that's a good question. :confused3 Off the record, I truly don't think they did expect it to be this huge. Because of this, we've been busy busy busy. We just don't have the man-power needed to handle the influx of mail and calls as efficiently as I believe we should be.

But then again, my opinion on this may need to be taken with a grain of salt. I'm a customer service nazi, myself. LOL If it were up to me, you would all have your credits posted within 24 hours, there would be no wait or holding times ever, and every agent would be pleasant as peach pie. :) This, of course, is why I'm not a manager and only a mere agent. :rotfl2:

When do these coupons from the cups have to be mailed in by..what date???

I'm still looking for cups in my area. :rotfl:
