Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

We already have a Grand Gatherings ressie (and just paid off) for Sept 20th to 26th. I have noticed most are booking FD for POP, we are staying at Poly. I have to wait until Monday to try and snag FD. Does anyone think there will be a problem getting our GG FD for Poly?

There are three individual ressies under our GG for 9 people. When I paid off our trip on Tuesday, I asked the CM how I would go about getting all three individual ressies FD. He said the person that set up the GG (luckly my wife did:love:) could call in and add it to all three ressies at once. Is that true?

BTW, this is my first post but have been lurking for some time. Thanks to everyone for such a good Disney forum.

Chad

Yup, I always book our whole gathering, and therefore make all the changes, additions, and substitutions. :rotfl:

I would think you should be able to, as long as the view you have booked is available for free dining.

Had a trip planned for June under the 4/3 deal. Just repriced and booked for August, staying 9 days instead of 7 and saving around $400! YEAH!!:woohoo:

Now I have to wait longer, but I get to make ADR's.

DisneyMom5,

We have a garden view booked now, but would change to water or castle view if need be. I would think the diff in price for the view would not equal the $$ saved by FD. I'll have to look.

Does anyone know what types of room views are normally available for FD?

We are thinking of moving our trip up since the FD promo
starts on 8/16 but we would like to come in on 8/15
Does anyone know if I have to book 2 different trips?
Book one single night then the next day starts FD for the
rest of our stay.
Also if I will have to check in 2 days in a row going from
one trip ressie to the FD Ressie?
I'm thinking that is what I will have to do, anyone know?

Can you book FD online or do I have to call?? Also does it have to be booked on my disney visa?

That's exactly what you have to do. Book the room only for the 15th and book your package starting on the 16th. Just have them note that you have a continuing reservation and maybe you won't have to switch rooms, but there's no guarantee.

We are doing the same thing we usually do this every year with free dining. You do have to make to ressies. And yes you will have to check in two days in a row. I have never had to change rooms.

The Disney Visa Free Dining offer is not showing up on their site right now, so I don't believe you can book it online right now. Maybe in a day or two or when it comes out for the general public and yes, it does have to be booked with your Disney Visa.

Anybody want to start a "support group" thread for us common folk who need to wait until Monday to book FD?:lmao:

I feel so excited/nervous right now and I don't want to feel like this for the next four days! UUUUGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Ok, I'll try to make you feel a little better. Even tho I had a Disney Visa, I didn't book early for either of our trips the past two years. Both times it was well into the general public time when I finally booked and I still got exactly what I wanted! :thumbsup2 Good luck! :goodvibes

Sign me up for that thread! Your thread will include everyone without a Disney Visa - which will include all the Canadians (it's so NOT fair that we can't get that Visa :headache:).

Hi All,

I called this morning. I have a conference from 10/3 - 10/8. I thought for sure I would not be able to have FD. However, the CM said as long as I check in on 10/3 I could have FD. WoooHoooo!
I asked for a studio a BCV.
She said there were none available. (mind you this was at 7:30am). i asked for BWV, she came back and said she found a studio at BCV, Wooohoo again!

The only difficulty she had was booking the code for the regular DP, so she put me in as DXDP, said it was 42.00 a night extra and to call back to downgrade before August 19th.

so all and all very easy! I hope everyone gets as good of a response on Monday!!

Question, my electronic reservation says things like:
sea racer voucher (1)
Mini golf voucher (1)
arcade play card (1)
resort refillable mug (1)

are these things part of the DP of the MYW plan??

thanks,
Kim

I can answer this part. Everything on your list EXCEPT the mug is included in any MYW package (the mug is included only on the Deluxe Dining or the Quick Service Dining).

HTH! :goodvibes

I called this morning and add the free dining to my reservation. However, it was when they had the computer glitch (7:30am), so still a little nervous that all went through. The guy on the phone said while he was on hold for help, he went out and back into my reservation and it all appeared there. I called back later today and another Cast Member said it was listed as Disney Visa Free Dining. I would feel much better with a confirmation email.
1) Did the others have it also listed as "DIsney VIsa Free DIning"
2) Did you get a confirmation email with the updates to your reservation?

I found out after digging around how to look up my reservation online, but it didn't really give details of anything and no wording about DIsney Visa Dining....

Thanks!

What is a sea racer? And how much is the arcade card? :) sorry...maybe off topic...but it was brought up?! :confused3 :confused3

Last September Disney Destinations sent out some emails that offered free dining pin codes for select dates in October, November and December, 9/28-10/11, 11/9-11/22 and 12/12-12/20 to be exact . These emails were random, not for the general public, and the codes were non-transferrable. About two weeks after that Disney Visa sent out a free dining code for their card holders for the same select dates in October, November and December. Those pin codes were not part of the regular Fall Dining promotion and there was no general public fd code offered for any of those dates.

What is the Disney Destinations? This is my first time every going to WDW and we are going to late for FD:sad1: and are unable to change our dates to earlier. So I would like to get the chance to get the Disney Destinations announcements if they do it again this year.
