FREE DINING for DISNEY VISA CARD HOLDERS!!

Or just call back first thing Thursday morning. They will definitely open up more rooms for the general public discount - though those will probably fill up very quickly also.

What time can I start calling?

We had a 30% code too, but it still saved us hundreds of dollars even with the ticket increase.

It will 'save' about $400 but it will also cost $720 - times 3 rooms = $2160

I'll have to crunch some more numbers.

We didn't upgrade to regular DDP so that is why we saved a lot. As with all Disney discounts, it is all about the math. Best of luck in your computing.:goodvibes Just the thought of it makes my head hurt!:rotfl:

You really do have to consider all factors. Which discount works the best varies a lot based on each travel party. We're already booked with a 30% room discount. Switching to free dining would cost us about $250! We'll stick with the room discount.:)

I don't know what your scenario is, but just by looking at the numbers, as 25% off room discount (which is a what the starndard value rooms normally get) would save you about $22.00 per night. A Free Dining discount, even if it was just a couple with no children, would save you about $70.00 per night, could be more than $100.00 per night for a family of 4.

A huge problem is you are overvaluing the dining plan by a lot. It's only worth what you would've spent otherwise. We maybe split 1 dessert a day, maybe split 1 drink a day, and might share 1 snack a day. We'd struggle to get any value. QS was just an awful value, so you had to compare it to the price to upgrade to regular DP and then we have TiW so you had to compare it to the discounted price. We are also eating a lot of 2TS places which are terrible value.

I think most people it'd be a better deal at the values, but it was close for us and is going to end up being a slightly worse deal and a gigantic headache to get FD.

Also, things like buying tickets at the old prices vs new prices came into play.

And then to top it off, AoA LM isn't available.

So Royal Rooms are in the free dining promo? So torn over here what to do what to do...

you have to call to see what is available for your travel dates. If you're going during a busy week, the royal rooms may already be booked. if you're going during a slow week, they may offer them (filling them at a discount is better than empty rooms)

I was hoping to use a bounceback offer on our room only reservation at AoA LM room. If I went with this new offer, I'd have to buy park tickets, which I would probably use at a later date. With the FD offer, I would increase my cost and not be at AoA. I called and LM was not available for 11/23.

I am seeing where you pay the increased ticket price to add dining to room & ticket package. I thought i read during the ticket price increase discussion, that package prices are set for the year and your tickets would not go up after the price increase. Did I imagine this?

I just tried to apply it for my vacation from 11/8-11/12 at the beach club. Since it starts on the 9th it was not cost effective for us to do it since we already had a free park hopper pin. Oh well.

Nope, not your imagination. I think just about everyone that switched to FD today was shocked to find out that they would have to pay the new ticket prices. The CM I spoke with this morning told me the difference was tax for the dining plan because she "knew the prices would stay the old price for tickets", but in the end, I realized it is the ticket increase (the whole tax thing didn't make sense:laughing:), so even their own CMs thought we'd keep the old price. Not sure the reason behind the change, but this is the first year I've ever had it happen.

Can you do split Stay with free dining?

If you want to do a split stay with the dining plan at both resorts, you would also have to do two set of tickets. You could buy enough ticket days for your entire trip with the first stay, and then buy the minimum 2 day base tickets with the second reservation and save them for another trip.

Well, really, if you don't do the dining plan and you are AP holders with TIW cards, what's the point of even debating this issue on a free dining thread? You already knew free dining wouldn't work for your family because you don't care for the dining plan, not because it's not a good discount vs. a room only discount, when strictly going by the mathematical number.

Okay, the ticket increase price, has got to be wrong. I just called and added a free dining code to a reservation for Royal Rooms that were booked long before the ticket increases and there was no upcharge for the new ticket prices. If some of you are being told that you are having to pay the ticket increase prices that infomation is incorrect. You need to check your confirmation email and see if your confirmation number is still the same. I hope some unknowing/unknowledgeable CM has not cancelled your old reservation and booked you under a new package with the ticket increase prices. Or just maybe add up the numbers and see if the CM thinks you are being charged the increased ticket prices, but you really aren't.

Ever since they started free dining in 2005, I have booked early every year, before the annual ticket prices increased, and later booked a free dining dicount/code and have NEVER had to pay for the new ticket prices.

Something is not right here . . . .
