I hope everyone has a good day, our town is having their annual block party! Downtown blocked off, three music stages, lots of food and beverages. Games for the kids, etc.... Should be a good time!

Rainy Saturday morning here in Indiana. Just wanted to report I received the Oprah Magazine yesterday! I can't wait to read it!

Just the usual -"if it's not one thing, it's your mother..." miss her, wish she was still around, wish she could see the kids. After almost 5 years I still catch myself thinking, "hey I should call mom..."

Thanks for all the hugs...And for making me smile

I know it's hard, I'm very blessed to still have my mom, but I really get into those moods missing my grandmother. It's such a feeling of loss and especially when I'm looking for some words of wisdom I wish I could talk to her. It can get very depressing....

I love Calvin (and Hobbs)! I still remember reading Calvin and Hobbs every weekend in the newspaper! I can remember when the newspaper announced Bill Watterson was not going to be publishing the comic in the paper anymore! I still have the very last comic they ever published in our paper- I have it in a ziplock bag and tucked away for safe keepings! OK! I AM weird, go ahead, let me have it!

Anywho- last night we did have a life! We went and met friends for drinks.....and giggles!

Have fun! I got up this morning and did a little more yard work, I am here now checking the Dis real fast

and at 1pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAME 5 - FLYERS VS WASHINGTON ...............booooooooooooooooooooooooooo--boooooooooooooooooooooWASHINGTON!!!!! Go home!- okay so literally you will be home- on ice...but just BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO anyway! I'm done now!!!!

PS- I love my DC freaps, just not the Caps!

Happy Saturday!! Off to do yard work. I'm hoping to get a head start before the bugs emerge... . I have never been a green thumb, so any time out in the yard is an event for me. Wish me luck!

Happy Saturday,
We went out to do some yard work today and do some clean up. We had some trees that got wrecked in the winter and will have to be cut down. Then we had to let our nieghbor behind us know that the trees he has tired off fot the tree cutter to take down so he can put a fence are on our land not his. He said he knew that he just wanted to make his back yard bigger and wider. I said sorry not going to happen.

Then DH went up to clean the gutters and found a woodpeck had moved in with his family on the back side of the house. There is babies and John is not happy. But of course myself and DD will kill him if he moves them.
I want him to take pictures but he is having none of that

That reminds me. The other morning I heard a woodpecker tapping on somehthing. I looked around for the tree he was in. He was on top of our METAL lightpost..tap, tap, tapping away.. He's gonna starve if he's that stupid..


Today we spent about 5 hours at the Y for 2 baseball games and preceding pictures. Nice way to kill a perfectly good Saturday, isn't it?

Flyers lost!

That's OK- game 6 @ home! Crossing my fingers and biting my nails that there is NO game 7

Poor DH is still out in the yard- he is now mowing the back yard- I am already in the house, showered and chillin'

DH borrowed BILs rototiller today and tilled me 4 new flower beds and he also tilled all long the front of our fence so I can see what kind of flower I can do! The pressure is on! eeeekk! I have some Lilly bulbs waiting to be planted out in front of the fence- DH was adding more sprinkler heads for the beds and he kept turning them on trying to adjust them- hello?! I want to get my bulbs in the ground -but that did not happen.

I am waiting "patiently" for impatients to come out and I think I will fill up the yard with a lot of those- we have a whole lot of shade and it is hard to add color with perennials- so I will stick with some of the good ol' colorful impatients and add some of weird my yard sale finds to those beds- I pick up old chairs, ladders watering cans, stepping stones etc- the chairs are nice to sit potted plants on in the beds- or have some morning glories growing up the ladder I also picked up some really cool mexican tile at a yard sale that I want to add at the opening of our arbor- so much to do!

I bought some bird houses for outside and I already have a little family that has moved in! They did not waste any time. They will be poppin' out the eggs soon!

I want to get some before pics of the bare yard and then snap a few pics along the way to see the progress.

He knew!? But he is going to take your property anyway- ask him if he would like to take over your taxes for that piece of property!

We are part of a lake community and we have an association- well, this guy bought a house on one of our lakes- he is not part of our community or association.

Get this- he brought in his own sand for a nice little backyard beach , built his own dock and put his boat in the private lake He did not ask the associations permission- hello- sure- we are paying for the darn lakes- but go right ahead and make your own beach and dock

Our association had to get an attorney- the guy had an attorney- the battle went on for about 2 years- needless to say- no more dock for him. Skeedadle dude!

I went to one of the meetings about the situation and the guy said- "I am just trying to give my little girl (she was a few months old) a nice life"

WHAAAAAAT THE....... Nice try buddy- but your outta here! I am sure your kid will have a wonderful life without dockspace......

He hate trees and wildlife. He said with all the trees in just give all the wild animals a place to live. Duh. I called the tree company he is using and told them if they cut them down they will be hear from my attorney also.

And damn, damn, double damn, I just spilled my margarita all over our computer desk. Luckily, it missed the keyboard but what about MY MARGARITA!!! Wahhhhh........

Definately the kneeling, I can kinda see him pissin in the wind, its kinda a boykid kind of thing to do...but praying? Only if he thought it would get hime something

I don't know for sure that the little boy praying is really supposed to be Calvin, they make a girl one too, but I sure do think of Calvin everytime I see it.
